  1. No I didn’t. Marra said ‘some people on here think hill is a wonder manager all of sudden, ask the Rochdale fans and they will have a similar attitude to him as we do to wellens.’ The implication and comparison and likening are clear. Is he/she SERIOUSLY Keith Hill to our manager. . . . A manager who operates with the lowest crowd in league. Who brings players on and develops them for relatively big money. Has had two promotions, and guided Rochdale to there highest league position since 1969. Wonder manager. . No. Just the best they’ve had for nearly 50 years. Against- 4 Wins in 23. I know a fair few dale fans, and Hill is a legend in their eyes, and rightly so. I would be pleased if we got him, but he wouldn’t come, and we won’t ask. No excuses. ?? I never said I wanted Hill. Your making stuff up. I pulled somebody up on there likening of our manager to Keith Hill. Which is frankly, ridiculous.
  2. Ok. I’ll try. Don't ask for silly explanations when you know the answer. It’s childish to play stupid to hill’s record. It’s far superior to anything Ritchie has achieved as a manager. But then, you know that.
  3. Strange call. He’s done far more in the game than wellens. Each to their own.
  4. I like the way he talks about the game, he always sounds very insightful. Its just a shame that doesn’t translate to the important bit- getting results.
  5. Totally agree. It doesn’t have to be 3 or 4 neither. But I’ve always thought the club should be leaning on the incumbent manager to bring at least one a season through.
  6. Yeah. Fair comment. I was thinking more of their form over the last 2 months. At one point they were 8/9 points off safety - albeit with 5 games in hand because of their pitch. IMO they were dead buried a while back, and to take it to the last day from their position is a fantastic fight back. That’s shows character, leadership, and bottle. Do we have those qualities? We’ll see. (God I hope so)
  7. Said the exact same on another thread. Its about mentality and balls on the last day. Forget everything else. Have we got either. . . . .
  8. Out of interest. Do you think wellens knows he’s out? Regardless of division or what AL might of said in private?
  9. I desperately want to be wrong, and maybe I’m just preparing for the worst. But I still think we are done for. 3 reasons. 1. We are limping over the line, and desperation has kicked in. 2. Dale are on a good run, and momentum is everything at this stage. 3. Mentality. Hill will be saying ‘what have you have got to lose?’ Ritchie will be saying, you don’t deserve to go down - just relax. One is hungry, one is complacent.
  10. So. . to the last day. Which means form, league position and opposition go out of the window. It’s whose got the biggest bollocks on the day. . .
  11. For the love god latics. Please. Come the fuck on!
  12. I don’t want any Oldham manager to fail. However, I do think a lot people have come round to the idea that if a manager isn’t cutting the mustard, we should be able to talk about it, without the insinuation that we’re being negative. You have to call as it is. I actually think we are quite an easy bunch to please- because we are so starved of success. Show ANY sign of even looking half decent and we start to have blind optimism. Unfortunately that isn’t the case. Again.
  13. As Harry alludes to, if we/when go down. The hope is, it could be the making of us, and watching a promotion push would be far more enjoyable that the shite we’ve watched for the last 7/8 years. Plus, I actually think it would add to our fanbase, as we would finally turn up expecting to win. That could all be very wishful thinking though. . .
  14. Agreed. I’m well aware of Mr. Eyres- and his ways. . .
  15. Eaxactly. So, from our excellent start it was a surprise to see our form drop away so quickly. . I trust your not just picking the opposite side of the arguement each time? ?
  16. Why appoint him then? ‘Have a go, you’ll probably be shit’ Great stuff.
  17. I think no mentions it, because we forget he’s there. Which says it all. LJ was struggling in his first full season, until tommy wright came in. We then started to improve. Don’t think you can underestimate the importance of wise old head, when your starting out.
  18. Mmmm. I think Jewell liked the idea of coaching again. Then he went down to chapel road, borrowed someone else’s training gear-got changed in the car park and thought. . . Nah. Fuck this. They probably did spend his wage on a player, but seen as though we’ve got a squad of 53, I would of hoped that someone might of mentioned replacing him. It seems not.
  19. Looks like I’ll have to change my username.
