    Well said!

Folk saying he was targeted...of course he was targeted, he made a rash tackle and got booked very early on so it's what any team would do. Hopefully he will cut that out of his game as he progresses. Also, I thought he held up well to being targeted especially as the midfield offered no protection whatsoever. More so in the 2nd half where he ran the ball out of defence and got fouled on the halfway line a few times relieving the pressure. It's funny nobody says a word about Dummigan who's petrified to stick a tackle in and got ran all over the place. If Hunt plays on Saturday it'd be at RB, not LB. Moimbe is raw and is getting used to the pace of English football. Keeps progressing as he is and we will have a very good player.

Moimbe reminds me of pascal chimbonda. (Obviously not as good) But the same slight frame, likes to get forward and pick a pass, and he’s a bit of a nutter. ?

  2. Like the rest of team he picked up, after a poor start on sat.

I like Miombe, mainly because he’s got a bit about him- he gets stuck in. That’s a valuable commodity in a relegation battle. A fighter.

(Yes, I know he’s walking red card, but rather that than a shithouse)

Dodged a serious bullet there. Should have been 4 down before Bury scored. Still really don't fancy us this season. No leaders (especially if Gerrard is injured). Lot of reliance on Doyle between now and May...

No leaders. . . But came from 2 down to take a massive point.

Fans are never the difference in a football match between 22 grown men...

Technically your right, because we’re not on the pitch. But I can can think of umpteen tight games, where the crowd have had a bid impact, both negative and positive on the result.

I reckon it will be a lot closer than other people seem to think...

    You still think we’ll struggle?

I think/hope we’ll have just enough, but as you say it will be tight. I don’t think 50 will be enough either. I think it’s gonna be more 53/54 this year. It’s very competitive for that last relegation place.

  6. This is mainly to pick the Brains of our older members.

We currently play in the third division, on a bog. We’re skint, and heady days seem a long way away.

In the good old days, (I’m talking in the 60s/70s, earlier if your old enough! ?) Did you have more hope? Enjoy your football more? Did the standard seem better?  Or is it much of a muchness with now?

If the ground and north stand is still owned by Blitz and I had the money then I'd relocate the club.  Smaller stadium, new pitch and all off-field income coming directly back to the club.

If AL ploughed millions into the side and we achieved promotion then the stands would benefit directly - why should they if not owned by the club?!

Plus, i’d wager there asking price would go up if AL sought to buy it off them. I dread to think what they’d want if ever we got to the premier league. . ?

People keep saying this and it puzzles me. Where is the evidence for a massive turnaround?

    They’ll need 25 to 28 points from 16 games. That’s top 4 form.

    Agreed.

When we were really in the shit, shez had us much closer to getting out of it than Bury are now.

Their resurrection needed to start under lucketti. He still had enough games then.

Ten points off safety with 14 games left, they need at least 8/9 wins out of that. . It ain’t happening.

Usually very confident of a 17th placed finish. There just doesn't appear to be enough leaders in that side who will drag you through the shit, and I include Gerrard in that...

Mmmm. A bit harsh on Gerrard, I thinks he’s our only one.  I get your point though, plenty of tidy footballers, but not many leaders.

Still, we have just taken 7 from 9. .

Our defence is the biggest concern. Going forward I think we’ll always create enough, and certainly got the strikers now to put them away.

Bit perturbed you dont fancy us though, your calming words are what get me through the dark winter months of panic.

Was going to say something about the pitch, but the Top 3 are a much higher priority.

    Defintley.

But then, I’d like to hope that’s not asking a lot. . .

Don’t even think it’s relaid to be honest, sure we just reseed it. Could be wrong.

I’m sure I read, maybe on here, that for a decent pitch it’s going to cost about 800k to replace ours.

    £800k- gulp.

    Another re-seed it is then.

I think if he ever wants to sell Jack Byrne for decent money he needs to get that pitch sorted in the summer.

The pitch is an interesting one. It seems to get relaid every summer. Certainly the last 2/3 anyway. But the way it cuts up at the same point every year, I can only presume we’ve just been putting a top layer on it so to speak.

I wonder how much a complete overhaul would be, and considering the local climate, would it be anymore guaranteed to not cut up?

If the club had to chose, would you want 250k on a new pitch (picking a figure) or spent on the squad?
