  1. Only a fool would think the state this club was left in is irrelevant
  2. Well it would...if you've no support for the man. Like it or not, he has improved things from Corney's day. And states he wishes to keep doing so. That is someone much better than just anyone. I'm prepared to see if he can keep doing so.
  3. The Necarcu debt is Corneys liability which AL has stated he is suing him for not undertaking his obligations. You asked for what he’s done. You’ve poured you negativity all over it. Well done. I dont agree with almost all of your “narrative” above but that isn’t news and I’m not interested in keep churning it over
  4. Basic requirements of which his predecessor had previously been massively failing at. Unfortunately, you cut the tree back too far and you’re left with something that’s withering and dying. It’s had to be a complete rebuild of the club that’s been required and getting the basics right is a start. He needs to sort the pension situation next. I find it baffling that someone like yourself Dave, can’t see that there was never going to be an overnight fix to the clubs grave situation. And would take years and someone with a lot of money to chuck away to get us on an even keel.
  5. Wonder how much Holroy was in debt for when it was sold to Corney and then bumped leaving creditors out of pocket. Track records, transparency and all that
  6. Come on Andy...you’re all over twitter, you’ve seen what I’ve wrote many a time. I’m sure I’ve wrtiten similar on here elsewhere. Anyway, to copy one of my tweets the other day, some of the things: Rid the club of Corney puppets (Fat Bazza aside, sadly), removed debts of Corneys like monies owed to perimeter board company, Necarcu loans etc. Ended regular winding up orders (or paid them when they occur), paying players properly now, unfrozen bank accounts, got a fee for Holloway and proper £ for Edmundson, etc Theres other things like paying for players when Corney was potless & bank account frozen when he never even owned the club. It’s not all been bad. He’s done shit things but upsetting entitled ex-players & Scholes hold no weight with me. But a hell of a lot with others. And he even stopped interfering in team affairs after Scholes left (words of Pete Wild.) Sign of someone who can correct his ways. Now he needs to sort the pensions and add to the squad
  7. Hardly. I supported the 3 asset strippers for their first 5 years. I don’t listen to the likes of Gerrard, Davies and co spouting sour grapes. There’s a few things (already aired) that he’s done that’s bang out of order. But the club needed a clean sweep. And rebuild. 18mths ain’t enough time to right Corneys cancer set in. Let’s see what the next 12mths brings eh. Might be failure but hopefully not
  8. Most likely not. It would be a huge failure if he did. Now to humour you further, if he went out and secured the likes of Wheater, Doyle and maybe a few others over the next few weeks and we went down then that would fall on Banide rather than AL. It’s shades of grey. Always is. Just some only see black and white. Or black and black.
  9. The one paying the players wages and currently keeping the club afloat. Not the one that’s already said they would have trouble keeping a club afloat.
  10. No so, according to Pete Wild after his 2nd spell as manager Horses mouth and all that.
  11. PW said that had stopped happening. Scholes said it happened once (it still shouldn’t have) but to me, the lesson has been learned. AL has admitted his made some mistakes. Folk gave Corney over a decade of them. I’m prepared to give time to AL longer than 18mths. I think others should but the tipping point was a ginger guy who was clueless about managing. Couldn’t make it up
  12. These models work by a head coach saying “we need a centre back” or “we need a striker” etc. They’ll probably suggest a player but ultimately there’s at least 1 person above who selects who the player is that’s signed. At Liverpool, it is someone the Fenway group have appointed. At ours, I’m sure Banide will suggest where we need to strengthen. Then AL or ML will go out and get them. Very similar to how Corney used to get players like Montano in and how Barry chased Hughes and Evans. It’s like this is something new
  13. I prefer THIS tone than the agenda ridden “smoke the fucker out” tone. I’ve said elsewhere, I fully support the probing questions of AL and pressure for him to correct his ways. I won’t support something that can be seen (at worst) as a hostile attempt at a takeover, by anonymous backers, whose funds are as anonymous as ALs is, spearheaded by a guy who got into bed so badly with Corney that he had to sell his company so Corney could lay debts all over and bump it when the time was right for him. Not a great track record that. Just like AL has a lot of convincing to do, so has the FLG to be anything credible for what is ultimately the long term goal for the club...everything back together.
  14. He left because the job wasn’t what he wanted. The position of manager was no longer available (a position which would include signing of players). The position offered was Head Coach. If a director or chairman or Head of Football or whoever then signs players, that isn’t interference. I know folk want to promote is that...but it isn’t. That is club policy now. Just like how Ole at the scum won’t sign players or Klopp at Liverpool etc. Fans still haven’t got their heads around the fact the club has moved to that style. Which AL is perfectly entitled to do. Considering AL and whoever he may have as backers is putting in the money to do this, for now, they deserve time to see how it pans out. Promotion in 2yrs he said right? Let’s see it then.
  15. One of the biggest problems fans had was AL telling PW what players to play. PW made it clear in a radio interview, after leaving the club, that it had stopped. I don’t see the issue with highlighting this fact. As someone who thinks AL deserves time to correct his ways, it isn’t right that those who want to slate him at any given opportunity still use this when its a positive thing that he’s stopped doing it. Folk too blinkered to see that. Next up, he needs to start paying pensions properly, tell his brother to wind his neck in, be more open about the books and add a couple of CBs, a midfielder and a striker.
  16. Indeed. They have an agenda And to think that this FLG Show is being ran by someone who got into bed with Corney & so far up shit creek that he ended up needing to sell his business to him (one which Corney then bumped in the end.) Bright future
  17. He said it on the radio AFTER he had left the club. On Mike Minays six-o-six show. No party line to tow. Telling it how it is. A shame really coz he did a cracking job in his short stints.
  18. If that is true, then... 1) This from Kevin Williams reporting on the FLG event is putting words in his mouth to shit stir: ”1/4 Why he refused the manager job: I felt it wouldn't be a Pete Wild team. The chairman is recruiting his own players and telling me who he wants to play” 2) Folk can stop saying Pete Wild left because of the interfering. But they won’t...
  19. Load of face-saving shite that from Pete Wild. He already said on Radio Manchester that they never interfered once in his 2nd stint as manager. Simply put, the club model for player recruitment changed for next season meaning all OAFC wanted was just a Head Coach. And Pete Wild wanted to be more than that. Sad that he won’t admit that and pushes the interference crap he said had stopped happening. No wonder the FLG got him in
  20. Mixed opinions on the piece due to the re-writing of the 2017/18 (Corney was potless, the OAFC accounts were frozen and AL was being begged to put money in even before he had bought OAFC. Only took over late Jan 2018...Corney was wholly to blame for the relegation season). Also no mention at all regarding the hidden debts off OAFC books that surfaced (LED perimeter boards, the pitch company that was unpaid etc), the Necarcu loan Corney was meant to pay that continued to hang over the club etc. which has totally hampered AL's plans from day 1. Nor that AL has intentions to sue Corney over it. Rightly so. Doesn't mean AL isn't an idiot for some of the things he has done. It does put greater context to why some decisions have been taken tho so I wouldn't class you piece as wholly balanced. However... The best point you raised in your piece is that I've quoted above....very very crucial this point. And whoever is part of the FLG will know this. You look over social media and all you hear is "smoke him out"...this is the plan. It's hostile. I pointed out the other day that there's too many now with their own vested interests. It won't end very well this.
  21. And anyone with a picture of Scholes as part of their profile seriously has issues
  22. Blitz/Gazal could. Not the FLG (unless they buy the land but we know they're miles from that at present - at least 6mths, I suspect much further though.) Also, there is a difference between the agreement over the land and the OEC. Corney had agreed a 20yr lease with his 2 mates of which AL will have taken on. The OEC agreement is completely aside to that. If AL stops paying the land lease agreement then I'll be extremely concerned. The evidence suggests that isn't the case (or we'd be looking for a new home already) and it's the OEC agreement that's causing the friction. An agreement which the FLG, who are in direct competition to AL for the land, now reside over. Messy. PS The Council couldn't be sweetened by TheThreeAssetstrippers originally...the deal was they could carve up the land around the site Boundary Park sits on but not that land itself. It sounds good to claim BP could be turned into a housing estate, but it won't happen.
  23. Just to correct this, no he couldn’t. There’s a 99-yr covenant on the land the club sits on which states it has to be used for leisure and recreational purposes. Granted that doesn’t mean a football club but it certainly doesn’t mean houses or a Tesco.
  24. A very very wise owl. Saved me the time of writing this. Only thing I’d add is that many seem to lose sight of the fact AL and FLG are direct competitors for the land (or were until AL stated that Blitz and Gazal had overpriced the land). That and a possible hostile takeover attempt...it’s not really going to get AL onside. It’s the sort of tactic folk were pushing for the Trust to take.
  25. I'm personally aware of who that poster is. King of the agenda Gets plenty right. Also gets fed curve balls.
