  1. I can forgive Lang considering he's not a winger in a million years. So he shouldn't be the one tracking back to defend the LB position. Maybe our manager will now stop pissing about and play him upfront in the middle where he should be. Probably not tho.
  2. For those asking about any streams, I know that Bet365 have been streaming some FA Cup games recently. Watched the last few minutes of Guiseley v Cambridge yesterday. And going to the football section today, it does have the icon to suggest it is being streamed. You just need a funded account to watch so deposit a fiver and after the game, take it back out if you don't want to bet. I usually leave a penny in so I can watch their live streams.
  3. Oh great...so this is the clown that couldn’t spot the most blatant penalty and red card on Davies at Shrewsbury. Nice one.
  4. Just a shame we have a manager with the opposite outlook to that. His first comment after Tuesday night when asked “how did we not win that?” was “I’m delighted with the clean sheet” If Bunn gets the selection & tactics wrong (as he has in many games this season, particularly 1st halves) and invites them on to us then we may be in trouble. This “should” be an easy 3-0 win tho if treated correctly. Over to you Frankie!
  5. Truthfully...I couldn't be arsed replying with "nice to see you lumping everyone as one and the same on Twitter (Twatter)" There's plenty of funny, interesting, well reasoned input on #oafc (if you avoid my handle on it ?.) But like any medium be it a radio phone-in, this messageboard or other forms of social media there'll be plenty with extreme views and/or just simply out for the wind up. About pretty much any subject. Hence my downvote.
  6. After a quick search, I'll concede that you're a mixed bag about Gardner. And yes, you do have Fane down as a world beater ?
  7. Ah Gaz, you tried desperately to tell us that he was a good player at League One level all last season. Now you’re at it again in League Two. He’s a 1 in 5 man. He’ll have some poor games. He’ll have some ok games. And he’ll have 1 good game in 5 games. He’s a middle League Two player. Who with other better players around him can win a promotion. He warrants playing coz he’s better than we’ve got in the middle which doesn’t say a lot. I’m happier to see him further up the pitch where he can’t cause problems for our defence with his indecision on the ball or passing it away to the opposition. And if he’s going to be the man to be picking up the 2nd balls and keeping attacks going, I’d rather see that than his continual passing the ball backwards. Fingers crossed playing higher up gives him a new lease of life.
  8. But we knew this in closed season. When we were scratching about for any fucker to come in. The only positive has turned out to be Surridge. And possibly Lang, but the jury is still out on him and we'll never really know while Bunn wants to stick him out wide most of the time. We would've lost it in League One coz it's a miles better standard than League Two. And yet, League One ain't brilliant. Just Bunn is pleased as piss with clean sheets. So it's all ok to be shit in and even shitter division. As for Surridge...does anyone think he's actually coming back? I don't. Heard a couple of things, one of them being unhappy at ours. You can imagine if AL has been running us like Uncle Simon was, we've most likely not been paying loan fees either. Of course, these are not "fact" but something really doesn't add up about his disappearance (Bunn didn't even know where he was at first.) So no information will lead to next best guesses.
  9. Wouldn't be the 1st time that's happened (circa early 2000's) FANE BOOTED OUT
  10. Was Simon "sell to the right man" Corney ever going to do anything else? I just hope AL is looking to sell us on and fast. He's showing little sign that he is "fit and proper".
  11. He seemed as surprised as I was when I messaged him about it. Although it would've been less so, had we not won on Tuesday. Very out of the blue, this one.
  12. 4-4-1-1 for me. If Lang isn't upfront (centrally) tonight then Bunn should seriously consider if football management is for him. If it's with OG alongside, then so be it. I'd rather see Lang up top with Baxter playing behind him. I'd have Nepo and Engone on the wings. Missilou and Gardner in the middle. If Gardner starts passing to the opposition or backwards endlessly, I'd haul his backside off and give Lydon a go. Back 4 pretty much picks itself (Hamer, Clarke, Edmundson, Hunt) while others are injured. I'd also be telling Hamer to get down the wings and support Engone as much as possible. Same for Hunt.
  13. That was an awful, awful game. I think that's the game I tweeted about nearly falling into a coma and being worried about driving home after it. A Steve Robinson production!
  14. Let us complete the circle then. If we agree to disagree about the Wolves at the door, we surely can agree that the situation was completely self-made (either crookedly or through sheer negligence) and thus cashing in a measly £100k for the sell on clause was utterly unacceptable behaviour. Maybe back then he should’ve dodged the taxman, not paid the players and stiffed clubs for loan fees at the time like the last couple of years. That’s what I call wolves at the door.
  15. Your timeline is conveniently missing many things...including the £350k for JHC in Sept 2014. And if Corney was siphoning off the money to give Blitz and Gazal to build a Stand that’s nothing to do with OAFC then the point stands. Crooked. We paid an agreed rent to be at Boundary Park. And if you mean ticket machines on the gates of the new stand, you’re being given duff info. They are rented for matchdays. I found out this season when I had issues getting in with my ST.
  16. Can we all just stop with this bollocks about how badly the wolves were at the door when Tarky was sold by us or Brentford?!?! It's a fucking massive load of bollocks. We had played Liverpool just 3 weeks before selling Tarky! For the 3rd season in a row! Not to mention the Everton game also the season before. It was Corney propaganda that lives on and on and on. Utterly baffling that people are still guffing out this nonsense. And within 12mths, after further sales he had to cash in the clause? Absolute crook.
  17. Bad example to quote Matt Smith. We should've got a fee for him being under 24yr and under contract. But he wasn't under contract because the last deal he had, we gave him a contract up to May 31st rather than the usual June 30th. It was well reported at the time that he turned 24 just days after his contract had expired with us. So basically, we saved ourselves 1 month of wages on him but in turn lost out on a fee for him when he went to Leeds. Thanks Simon.
  18. That's the problem, we have had investment just that under AL it has gone straight into the black hole Corney spent 10yrs digging. You're right though...we are all still waiting for AL's masterplan. And the wait feels like it could a long time. Which we don't have. I'd like to think he's got some waiting in the wings or is looking for some. If we could stay in the hunt for playoffs by January then he's got the opportunity to promote us as "throw a little bit at us and we've every chance of going up" to any possible interest.
  19. 3 seasons following Administration. Stayed up despite 17pt deduction in League Two. Promoted. Playoffs in League One. All before the Russian. Mostly using their kids. 2008–2009 League Two 21st *17 points deducted 2009–2010 League Two 2nd Promoted 2010–2011 League One 6 Defeated in play-off semi-finals We are singing the same thing here...that it will take someone with serious cash to bring about a level of success up the leagues. But the notion it took a Russian to go from our position of hand to mouth to where they are now is only half true. They were righting themselves well before a Russian arrived in November 2011. That playoff season was remarkable with the kids they had that season. Their crowds were around the 5,000 mark. They hit the very bottom and transformed themselves without the initial money. It is possible if done right. Abdallah isn't showing us he is capable of that in these early days though. Hopefully, someone can see there is potential in a lower league club who are now (if Underdog is correct) virtually debt-free.
  20. Ok, I'll submit that I thought he bought them after promotion but evidently not...however another fact check is they were in Administration in League One in 2008/9 and were looking like going out of business. They turned the club around and into a prospect for someone like this guy to take over. So my original point still stands... "When both clubs were on their arse in League One, there was no Russian billionaire and Brentford had no fan with millions funding them. It is only since they went through their dark times and came out better for it that monies were then pumped in by said people."
  21. It does highly irritate me when people keep pushing this out about the Russian billionaire etc... When both clubs were on their arse in League One, there was no Russian billionaire and Brentford had no fan with millions funding them. It is only since they went through their dark times and came out better for it that monies were then pumped in by said people. Bournemouth didn't get their Russian until they won promotion to the Championship. They went through Administration but rebuilt on the back of an excellent youth set up and a top manager in Eddie Howe. The money came afterwards. If AL has cleared our debts then it is close to a clean slate for someone who may want to start afresh and rebuild something with us. Here's hoping. It would be nice to hear AL say what he hopes to do with us. The goodwill is shortening by the day.
  22. Bournemouth and Brentford currently debunking the theory that it's pointless taking a poorly supported club on its arse in lower leagues.
  23. A complete marmite player. One minute he can do something good, the next minute he can be awful. Sadly, he does more poor things than good things. On Saturday, I thought it was his most anonymous game in a long time. At least in other games, he gets noticed for the good/bad things he does but against Carlisle I could count on my hand the number of times he was involved. As for Shez, as much as I like the guy I think he's way off the mark on this one. If Gardner could produce the sort of form he did this time last season (5 really solid games back to back) then he would rightly get the plaudits. Sadly, he's shown he can't do this.
