  1. Welcome back Muzza. And to think...I was reading old posts and shite like this, only this morning: #Agenda
  2. I used to think that would be the case but going into the season under Darren Kelly was enough to see a section of fans who blatantly wouldn't support the team, wanted him out from day one and was happy for us to lose. I remember at the Bradford home game thinking...what a terrible atmosphere. Didn't even get a "I'm a bastard" chant until injury time that day. From those who want AL to go, there will be a small number that want him to prove them wrong and it work out but there will also be a section (more than those who want him to prove them wrong) who will want us to start off poorly so they can claim justification and push for protests. Shite state of affairs.
  3. A great point made and probably sadly lost on those with an agenda to "force" AL and who seem hellbent on watching the World burn. Also, as someone said above , it takes a lot of money for a FLG to run a football club. Even more to take on someone who may (or may not) have backers and some deep pockets to access should it be required fight such a fight. Let's hope we win the first 5 games and maybe some much needed sense and harmony can be applied to the off-field situation.
  4. This is something I said to a fellow fan recently. Far too many "vested interests" in it for their own gain pulling in different directions...and in my opinion, over and above the good of the club. Be it AL, TheThreeAssetStrippers, FLG or whoever else. Very dangerous.
  5. The intentions of Blitz and Gazal were there for all to see the season we sold Eardley and should've made a profit but they lump an R&D bill of £1,000,000 on the OAFC books. As you've alluded above, they'll be wanted their £6m twice over. No doubt about that in my eyes. The C****.
  6. Corney took this out. Necarcu had/has links to past owners of Chester City and Stephen Vaughan. This is one of the creditors that was meant to be satisfied when AL bought the club off Simon. I, at the time, assumed the plan was AL paid Simon and he in turn was to pay off Necarcu. As some have alluded (elsewhere) that charge still exists on the OAFC books, so it would most likely be the case that this is one of the "binding promises that were not carried out" (quoted from AL's letter). It's things like this from AL's letter that adds a hell of a lot of context to how deep rooted the cancer of the previous regime spread. It doesn't give reason over AL's meddling in team affairs etc. but quite frankly, they aren't as important as if the bills are being paid and will be paid for the foreseeable future. Or why AL has had to be fairly ruthless and act in certain ways at times. I've highly suspected AL arrived with a plan of which was strangled at birth when the scale of Corney's deceptions were uncovered. A lot of fans have said in the past "if that's the case, why isn't he suing then". When the Trust finally get the answer to that, the Trust felt fit not to disclose it. Poor that. And sorry, but seeking clarification over the letter should've been sought before sticking out the version that was. If it was being sought, waiting another day or two for approval over airing the letter would not have been an issue. I want the Trust to be a success but it's things like this which harm the cause. It is a tough job to do but being self-aware is crucial.
  7. Indeed there is. Quite enlightening. Not the tone the Trust have been para-phrasing.
  8. You two can cut that shit out. Gets us nowhere. And had Corney still be here, I'm fairly convinced (given the amount of debts - in full view and hidden - and dates in court) we would most certainly be closing the gates for the last time after Northampton in 3 weeks time. I don't believe some of what AL comes out with but I do believe he has put a substantial amount in which had he not, we would be ahead of Bury and Bolton in the race for Liquidation. Alas...that isn't to say that won't happen with Abdallah. Although, currently (not sure how long for) we don't have the Tax Man chasing us. Which is usually the biggest indication of where the club sits in terms of the wolf at the door. I wouldn't surprised if he is back again shortly tho. We actually have no idea where this is heading. I'm greatly concerned at how most are acting. From AL to the fans walking away. Protest by all means but do it from within, not silently walking away. Many did that under Corney and it doesn't help one bit. I'm not going to ask someone to put money into the club and treat us right and neglect to do the same myself. No matter how we, as fans, have got here...we are all wanting the same thing. To be run as a professional club with reason for hope, some ambition and for fans to feel connected. The response to the Trusts letter offers nothing of the sort. A plan B is required which I trust (pun not intended) is being worked on.
  9. FFS...folk getting giddy over Uniteds next Kenny Cooper. The Scholes effect. Shoot me now
  10. Then if you’re serious about a job in media and doing a half decent job, you get your CV out and look forward to handing in your notice as soon as possible. After all, it’s what you’ve studied for. Abdallah doesn’t strike me as the sort to dislike his media guy asking an underperforming manager tough questions. Might save him the job of having to go in the changing room himself
  11. Nonsense. If it's deliberate then maybe but Roy (to my knowledge when listening) has never deliberately done that and you're out of order for suggesting it. I've mixed up some of our white players before now. Guess that makes me one too
  12. Glad someone said it. My ifollow subscription might get used more now. Stopped watching most of the pre/post match interviews. Same questions most weeks. Never anything remotely eye-opening. And don't forget, simply must mention the fans every time. Never quizzed/grilled a manager once and over the past couple of seasons of utter shite, at a time when they needed quizzing. Stuart Vose led by example when he used to do the job. Never scared to ask that uncomfortable question when it called for it. I hope whoever takes it on has it in them to do so.
  13. Going off what most have heard/we know (Lang gone, Surridge and Lydon both here still) I'm predicting the team will be the same as NYD with just Hunt in for Lang and Nepu pushed up the wing. I do feel a Nepu, O'Grady, Surridge front 3 can cause Fulham problems.
  14. I can help you with that one. No statement needed. Just repeat the sentence "For the good of the club" several times then give yourself a menacing, wry smile in the mirror.
  15. We won’t get the best out of Surridge or Lang while he keeps playing them together with COG up top. They end up drifting wide and out of the game. Both are strikers and need to play more centrally. In a front two pairing (one with COG/Miller and the other a sub). I had thought Bunn had recognised this. But both this & playing his strongest team (available) in that nonsense trophy when we’ve got Bury up next, are some of the reasons Bunn is showing he just isn’t learning from his mistakes.
  16. He meant at Prenton Park. Played 9, won 6, drawn 2 and lost 1 and only let in 3 goals. They're 3rd in the Home League Table.
  17. Last time we played them we took 1,200. Plenty of folk grumbling at “Tranmere again” for the umpteenth season in a row and not bothering. So it’ll be an improvement if we take more than that on Saturday.
  18. Given that we've not yet beaten any team above us in the league (at the time of playing them) there's zero evidence of this. Be nice to change that on Saturday tho. I've got very little sympathy over injuries when Bunn is playing broken biscuits like Surridge & Taylor in the Check-A-Scab cup and risking an injury to someone as important to Clarke (who should be given time off for those games). Add to that bringing in the likes of Miller & Baxter who have got terrible injury records has been asking for trouble. Yes, sometimes you need a bit of luck on the injury front but Bunn doesn't strike me as a lucky manager either. The one for me that took it from disappointment to annoyance with Frankie was the Port Vale game. OG upfront alone. A meek surrender that Steve Robinson would've been proud of. BUT.............there does seem to be a slight shift in outlook since that game though. Especially, the dropping of OG. Where I will give Bunn some grace is the fact he is slowly (very very slowly) showing signs of learning from some of his self-made mistakes. The dropping of Nepu was just bizarre early season after being one of few who looked like he might create and score. He restored Nepu in the end. As for Lang, it was blindingly obvious he needed playing as a striker but took it took the FA cup game for it to finally click with Frankie. If he keeps up these small, but significant adjustments we will fair better for it. For an hour on Saturday we looked totally devoid of direction but then the goal sparked us into life. Plus 2 goalkeeper howlers which is the marker for League Two. Getting back to Saturday...I'll repeat, we've yet to beat a side above us yet this season. And with a potent striker in Norwood, we will need to score a couple again on Saturday to contemplate winning I feel. Big test!
  19. Decent summing up that Andy. Albeit, from the angle of cutting him a lot of slack. At times, it literally felt like an interview of him just repeating "we work hard", "we work very hard", "mistakes have been made", "for the good of the club", "we try to fix things", "we work hard"....he probably said the words "work hard" about 50 times. Soundbites won't get him far. I found very little actual substance in all 25 minutes of the interview tbh. It was a very Corney-like interview. His answer to the question "fans have no confidenice in your ability to run Oldham Athletic" was "If I'm not here, the club doesn't exist anymore" was pure cringe. An owner that has to (supposedly) remind the fans of this is already on a slippery slope. I'm surprised he didn't add "be thankful we're not Stockport." A couple of snippets that stood out was that he said he liked to go and watch the players training. You can see where the inference that he meddles comes from. And I thought it was an eye-opener about him saying that now we are in League Two he can't just go to Ligue One clubs and ask for players. I do think that was his plan all along at League One level....using his contacts to bring over some young promising French players on loan but now we've been relegated, it's left his plan in pieces. Both that and having to pay for all the surprise pop-up debts Corney hid away. I have had a lot of sympathy for AL over the first 6 months what with Wellens utter incompetance & the mess the previous owner made. That sympathy has fast depleted though for various reasons. This lack of a plan of sorts (outline, not anything detailed) is the biggest concern because we all know we've very few assets. So we're being asked to believe in blind faith. When asked by Mike Minay "are you looking for help, extra sponsorship, looking down avenues like that to bring in better revenue for the club?" all we got in reply was "I'm here to work hard, we need time and we will get there slowly, slowly but we are gunna get there." Mike presses further "how far are we away from being a sustainable football club" and AL replies "we are gettng there, slowly slowly working hard with the foundation, I keep repeating foundation because I want to start from the bottom and rebuild it slowly, slowly." There is little evidence of this foundation being set. I was told that our Club Secretary left the club over the weekend (on good terms, I'll add.) It's extremely worrying at present and feels like we are getting empty words to fill the vacuum. All we can do is sit tight and see if AL does manage to set this foundation in place to build from. I'm not bought by this 25 minute interview of mostly waffle and charm offensive though. We've seen that all too many times before. Walk the walk please, Abdallah!
  20. You're right. Taylor is turning into a complete disappointment. And personally, I have no intention of wanting to "stick it to Dan." Since his excellent 5 game spell this time 12mths ago, he's been a shadow of that player. With maybe 1 good game in 10 sprinkled in.
  21. I've read your comments perfectly. You asked for acknowledgement for his efforts for the equaliser. It was given. I, in turn, asked where was your acknowledgement that he was dire for 88 minutes. It's your choice not to offer that but don't be having a go at peoples choice to say how it actually was...he was wank for nearly the whole game. It's not being negative. It's fact. You just have to accept people will rightly point that out. It's what happens on a messageboard. He currently gets constant knocking coz he's been playing shit. Along with several players and a manager making too many mistakes with what he does have at his disposal. Hence the slide down a shit league we are in. The win was a welcome relief. How it came about was utterly frustrating. The 2nd half was poor after a good, unlucky 1st half. Finally, our fitness levels allowed us to exploit them and eek out the win. The only main positive is we've made it through. And hopefully, Bunn has learned his lesson regards to Lang. Better late than never, eh?
  22. Gardner? I'm happy with Nepu there when he returns. I've said all along that Gardner should be played further forward though. Far away from where he can gift the ball to the opponents in dangerous areas. He likes a shot, he can run at people with the ball. Playing him behind the striker(s) is the only role I want to see him in.
  23. Ah...so you'll only comment on what suits you. Rather than what actually happens. Well done ?
  24. Oh, I can acknowledge it. Great counter attack led by him. Why can't you acknowledge he was fucking dogshit for 88 minutes?
