Wouldn’t surprise me, I’d be disappointed if Willoughby went though. I don’t think he’s been given anywhere near enough time to show what he can do.

I think that’s why I said bringing someone in who he knows or managed before who can be trusted to put a shift in.

The point you raise about the disappointment following a good win highlights more than anything the problem we have. Like MM said in his interview, there will be days where we are “off it” but if we are then don’t lose. That’s where the mindset and mentality comes in. To be ready for all comers every game. Chesterfield do it, against the same opponents as us. They break them down and get around them. They find a way. I think a couple of new faces possibly people who MM has managed before might be a good idea.

I think he’s seen and felt his way into the job now 6 or 7 games in. The players have proved time and again to him and us that collectively they aren’t up to what we need.

He knows this group isn’t taking us beyond mid table, he says it without actually saying it but he knows.

I think it’s because we aren’t good enough as a group. You look at individuals and think yep, solid signings and some are but there’s a good number who don’t have the mentality, backbone or brains to guide us up the table regardless of if they’ve done it yestayear . They show it week after week.

We all got carried away last week, me included . I still think most of this lot aren’t earning their money and haven’t got a promotion push left in them. A large amount of money has been splashed on a bunch of mid table coasters. Keep telling myself be positive and Wednesday I thought we looked different but we aren’t. Please give Mellon some money to at least try and get a few in.
