Bertie_Dugger
We have spent a fair amount of money but look at the success it is bringing us. Paul Coutts was signed from Cove Rangers, a small Scottish Highland League team. Now he is playing a major part of our promotion push. He also got called up to the Scottish U21 team. Boyd, CMS and Mclean - everybody knows the danger they cause teams. On their day they can destoy any teams. Chris Whelpdale signed from Billericay Town and Sir Alex Ferguson even commented on what a good player he is. Shaun Batt joined from Fisher Athletic and usually makes the bench. We have assembled a squad from Non-League players but they are now all gelling and with a few experienced heads like Dean Keates, the team is really going places. No problem then, we should put five past you easy.

It also helps having somebody like Barry Fry with all his contacts in football even though he is a Edited March 29, 2009 by Markoasis Swearing - please read rules and regs
the_mighty_bosh
Along with the drum, please bring your manual on 'How to get a small, unfashionable club out of a terrible division.' The one that Blackpool passed onto you after Barnsley had finished with it and seems to be working for you. Scunthorpe, Crewe and Southend had it but mislaid it when they went up. CJ, the Peterborough manual mostly reads "££££££££££££££".
leeslover
To answer the initial question, I'm just finishing putting a final thick layer of carpet and egg boxes in the walls of the cells beneath the RRE to create a special, "Drumming Section." lonelylaticsfaninaus
local residents contacted the club regarding the noise it was making Aren't most of them in hospital ????......Just realised...that's why B.P. is so quiet...we don't want to disturb the patients!!!!! Corporal_Jones
CJ, the Peterborough manual mostly reads "££££££££££££££". And even when Latics tried this route we managed to attract a dud. Is there a curse on this club?
Cervero
How much have Peterboro spent on what is now a high probability they will be going up? Where as the young Taggart identified and got his players from? has he had any help and guidence from the old man? Last January spent £400,000 on England U21 GK from Norwich- Joe Lewis Summer 2008 - 2 players from Wycombe was the sum of their summer spending around £200,000. This January made one signing - around £350,000 on Congo Int from Fulham - Gabriel Zakuani Other than the 3 forwards already mentioned (Boyd, McLean, MacKail-Smith) that's pretty much it. Spent the odd £50-100,000 on non-league players, like Paul Coutts from Highland League - now a Scotland U21. Transfer Policy firmly routed in the kowledge of everyones favorite "character" in football - director of football Barry Fry, using his non-league contacts. As for Man Utd in 2.5 years Ferguson Jnr has made one signing a youth teamer on a one month loan (James Chester) so he certainly hasn't used his father to get up the ladder. I was more thinking along the lines of tap ups gained from Man Ure scouting missions as opposed to directly sending players.

So to be clear, they have spent, "the odd," transfer here and there on players more expensive as anyone we have signed since Chr15 M**re was here, and over half a team that were on the same scale as that era or higher? And most of that done in the 4th division. It's hardly peanuts...
