Lukers1
Anygood? When you played at our place he was the best player on the pitch, was that just a flash in the pan or is this kid the real deal? Yep, hes ok if he can push on this year. He was bought for the future but the crap Penney brought in saw him in the team sooner than expected. Only young, good passer , ok on deadball and eye for a goal...

Bring Back Ronnie Moore
Penney brought him him in because of injuries, he had tried everything else and his hand had been forced Dale took his chance Or Penney could have just done what Sheridan seemed to do profusely and bring someone in on loan. To say he played Stepehsn simply because he had no other alternative is unfair. Stephens was a reserve player who Penney gave a chance to rather than use the loan market, which as sure as they day is long Sheridan would have done. Bloody hell, it's amazing the lengths some "fans" will go to not to give an ounce of credit to manager just because they didn't like them. Bring Back Ronnie Moore
Hey guys, Sheridan gets no credit at all for finding Trotman, playing him for 22 games then selling him for £500,000. We had injuries. His hand was forced.
Stitch_KTF
Penney gave Stephens' his breakthrough, when the manager who signed Stephens wouldn't. Penney has to be commended for that, not criticised The manager who signed Stephens openly saw him as a 'signing for the future'. Fortunately for us and David Penney he and Kieron Lee proved good 'signings for the future', as they were two of our three best players during the second half of the season. Worthington, :censored:, Furman and Holdsworth all had to be injured/suspended before he played him. Then he dropped him again two matches later to bring furman back... surprise surprise we got battered, and then Stehens comes back. Not only did he only play him because he was his only available central midfielder, he tried to drop him again immidiately after. Dave Penney was an utter moron. Simple. as. Shez did put Trotman in because of injuries maybe Shez and Penney didn't get lucky enough over the course of a season maybe 25 years as a supporter makes me a "fan"

oafc-latics
Just ok on a dead ball??????? he's the best we've had for a while. liddell was maybe better and he's not as good as eyres but he's the first player for a couple of seasons that means we dont waste every single set piece we get. boundaryblue80
Penney brought him him in because of injuries, he had tried everything else and his hand had been forced Dale took his chance Come on...ya can't have it both ways!!! Either you give credit to Penney for playing him....OR....you admit that we had THAT MANY injuries this season that Penney was forced (your word) to play him...it's funny how people claim injuries (had 10 potential 1st teamers out when Stephens was played) aren't an excuse for a struggling side but then people want to say the lad was forced into being played. I agree he was needed to be relied on but this is 1 of a hundred things that the manager had to put up with this season. beag_teeets
So he was bought as "one for the future", didn't feature in Shez's first team plans or Penney's until the later part of this season, has since said on the official site that he struggled with playing every game which would fit in with the whole "one for the future" tag and yet is being used as a stick to beat both Shez and Penney? Is there anything at the club that people haven't complained about?
