razza699
You can see from the clip the players look together, quick movement, feet. High energy. Shows what a pillock Dave Penny was as many same players. move along nothing to see here Tounkara does really well for Taylors goal , if Tounkara isnt going to be a goalscorer then looks like he is going to at least set up a few ! oafc-latics
lee and tounkara will both be very important for us this season, lee gets forward and rarely loses the ball, and tounkara keeps the ball, holds onto possesion and will get a few goals. Lags
http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/playe...0399~36,00.html Extended highlights on the OS now (Laticsplayer) Show's that despite a great result it was fine margins that stopped some more Bee's goals. Still we've already had day's where we should have won and didn't cos we didn't convert enough chances created. It's higher up the league ladder that you get punished more often and that as to remain our goal. Edited October 11, 2010 by Lags

Lags
All this crap about who called who rubbish once is boring. You can name virtually every player in history cos someone somewhere won't like a certain player but like another who their mate doesn't. Sometimes players fit in and find their club whilst it certainly happens they were pants at another. Prime example being one Richard Butcher, his first stint at the Imps their fans thought he was a good un.....................here?? utter pants. Back on topic, the highlights clearly demonstrate that both sides had multiple good chances to score and both sides showed frailties in defence. It was Latics day cos we took more of our chances, where the Bee's converted theirs from being marginally off side. Both Latics full backs did far better second half as the Bee's wingers got in behind far less and the central pair dealt with the balls played through the air. As said individually the defence played ok, the full backs in the first half going forward were great, not so good in the defending department but improved vastly in the second half. We just have to be more solid in the collective.
TheBigDog
and furman, and taylor.. and therein lies the problem - too many fans (of all clubs) condemn a player as 'cr*p' or 'get rid' without thought or understanding of what it takes to succeed in the game. Taylor has always had the skill and talent to succeed - but he has had a poor time and is now getting back to his old form - the reason for the poor run being mainly down to injuries imho. Yet many were too quick to condemn - Form is temporary, class is permanent is an epithet often bandied around. Lee & Furman are two others who have suffered with loss of form but both have the 'class' to succeed. If a player is going through a dip in form then the management will be only too aware - and hopefully PD has a large enough squad to be able to rest certain individuals to help them get over a nigggling injury or loss of form. Where this argument does get a little blurred is when players have had a chance and still cannot step up to the level needed...but maybe that is when they should be moved on - Wolfenden, Smalley and Lomax are three who spring to mind - and is it a final chance for Lewis - undoubted talent but will he make it?
