ChrisA
His target was 52 and "take it from there". We got 52 with him. I suppose for him that was mission complete. The not kicking on bit must have been his downfall. Tosser.

Tommy_Fent
to be fair our current manager does drag all 11 men back to defend but we have players that can cover ground quicker like Tounkare and Morais whereas Penney had Colbeck and Abbott
rosa
but we have players that can cover ground quicker like Tounkare and Morais whereas Penney had Colbeck and Abbott Colbeck had lightning pace and covered a lot of ground. Just didn't take the ball with him, unfortunately.
slystallone
I personally wish Dave Penney no ills. He was responsible for overseeing some truly woeful football last season, ‘football’ that very nearly stopped me from going to games; even though I was (& still am) a season ticket holder.......his signings were questionable and his tactics dreadful. But as a bloke & manager, I wish him no harm – he’s out of our club (thank goodness for that) and really has nothing to do with us now, other than terrible memories & for 1 game this season when we go to the Gas. PhilStarbucksSilkySkills
Anyone see this on the BBC: Despite initial success with the Latics he was sacked in May last year with the club just four points above the League One relegation zone.
