singe
Really ? I do... His whole position was there would be no new stadium... You cannot be serious, his whole postion was to build a larger white elephant stadium to "make a statement of intent" to Burnley etc, His plan would have had us bust in no time, and he had no plan where the money was coming from, he just expeced TTA to wriet blank cheque. We'd be in much greater trouble if we had followed his course,
oafc0000
I understand the reasoning behind it, but I'm dead against what it means for the club.* Basically we're being left the choice of a permanent lower division club in a lower division-sized stadium or extinction. Not a choice worthy of the name really, is it? *Something the club can easily get round by denying it and talking with straight faces about expanding the stadium (although SC did at least have the decency to admit that 'expansion will be difficult.' Or so it was reported. ) Are people now seriously saying he had it wrong... Isn't that exactly where we are ?
Yard Dog
Really ? I do... His whole position was there would be no new stadium... I'm not being argumentative, I just don't think this is quite what he prophesied.

We are going back a long time... Things get forgotten.. I used to debate with him a lot and clearly remember his stances.
Lee Sinnott
It's like a terminal illness and the doctors have told us to prepare for the worst. Club is dead. They can go and :censored: themselves if they think I'm going standing in the Sandy Lane to watch them!! Cos that is what is going to happen! al_bro
If we ground share out of town, then there will never be enough money to move back to a new stadium in Oldham. The club owns nothing but the stadium. The majority of the players contracts are up at the end of the season so there is no chance of cashing in on any of them. If we get promoted, how can we play Championship football at Spotland which is the nearest option. The only other option would be Eastlands and it would cost us an arm and a leg to ground share their.
downender2
It's ok we'll be fine in 2021! 2021 58k capacity...pahhh!!
Roger Ritchie
Tories aren't about to send a few millions to a Labour run council of a poor town in the north so they can build something for the people. They'll probably spend it all on quails eggs and blame it on the 'defecit'!
latic12345
The club owns nothing but the stadium. It doesnt own this. Thats the problem
latic12345
i really dont want to say 'i told you so' but i refer members to posts i made some 18months ago regarding the future of our beloved club. My first footy match at BP,countless saturday early get ups,the royal reign, the plastic pitch, roger palmer, chaddy end mayhem /(top left corner). Those days have gone and are not coming back,im so angry but at the same time resigned to the fate that awaits us. A slow death because if the board think a move outside town will bring anything other than that, well,im not of the opinion they give a toss. gutted. I don't mean to be a pedant but if we're going to remember the good times, can we please spell the name of a legendary manager correctly. Joe Royle NOT Joe Royal
al_bro
It doesnt own this. Thats the problem I'm sure the club does own the stadium. That's why we keep paying the bills for it's upkeep. It's the land the stadium stands on that we don't own.
