JoeP
A building contractor specialising in football stadia is due in Oldham in the next few weeks to start discussions with Latics and/or OMBC. So a meeting? Latics and OMBC should probably have a pre-meeting to prepare for it. Latics and OMBC should then probably have a meeting afterwards to discuss where to go next. Then they should both have a meeting with the contractor to discuss where to go next. But not without a pre-meeting..........

Matt
sounds promising.... We've been here before. Pardon me for being slightly skeptical of the whole caboodle, but until I see grass being laid, and seats going in this means nothing.

I merely stated that a meeting was taking place. But I would also add that this company have significant expertise in contaminated land reclaimation. opinions4u
Wasn't it a loan from a financier representing a stadium developer that forced Stockport in to administration? David Farms
mikejh45
Wasn't it a loan from a financier representing a stadium developer that forced Stockport in to administration? David Farms Correct me if I'm wrong here but wasn't Stockport starting with nothing to offer as collateral as that Irish geezer wanted to retain the stadium just for the Sharks whereas our lot have BP and the surrounding land to use. I don't disagree that there are differences in circumstance. Just pointing out that Latics have received money from somewhere to pay wages (be it Saturday's gate receipts, Corney pawning his shoes or whatever), Latics are pursuing the dream of a new stadium and if funds have been borrowed by the football club from anybody that gives "anybody" a degree of power to pull the plug. The position is not clear.

I think the banks would have been a bit friendlier with Latics whilst there were letters of financial support from potential investors and maybe extending the overdraft facility hence money for wages etc.
laticsrblue
sounds promising....do they have a portfolia one could take a look at???? be interesting to see previous designs If Latics eventually get the go ahead on a new site, I'd be amazed if the stadium built on the site is any different to the Failsworth design drawn up by Latics architects. Why would they pay again for something they already have? These guys are building contractors and will build whatever the architect has designed. The cost of 70% of a new stadium will be the same no matter where it is built. I expect the discussions may involve the viability of other sites i,e, ground conditions, infrastructure etc.

I think there might have to be some adjustments, didn't the F/W one include the listed part of the LAncaster Club? Rather than a from scratch design? I cannot recall exactly. Mind you I doubt that the drawings got into the nity gritty detail.

Perhaps a sort of Berni Inn - it's the future!
