What happened in Town Centre?

Recommended Posts

Heard about some trouble after the match but it also seemed the police were a little over the top in the ground!!!

Why was everyone in block S kept behind???

It was a bit odd.

None of the ones kept behind looked particularly troublesome.

The whole police presence was over the top in Shaw before the game there was lots of police. However i got back into the centre at 6 ( had a quick beer in the bar at the ground after the match)but seemed really dead.

I overheard a copper saying that people were kept behind because they had been kicking off in the town centre and had been tracked, but given how many they kept behind I would think a disruption like that would make the news.

I thought that might be the case. There was a copper in the opposite stand taking photos and obviously the one at the fron of or stand taking a video!!! Looks like someone is in trouble! Also the one man pitch invasion made me laugh, its a shame it was in vein!!!

I asked nicely if I could leave and as on my own the young copper let me out of the section. Keeping one section behind on what seemed to be because of standing and singing during match was never going to be met with quiet acceptance. Never agree with it anyway as just allows home fans to find places to wait Of they so wish. Only good thing about the day was the rag pudding before game. Oh and that volley.

Plenty of herbets knocking about yesterday.

In the block that got kept behind we weren't even allowed to go for a piss from midway through the 2nd half.

Got kept behind for at least 20min, with mainly kids really.

Saw no trouble myself after the game, but couldn't get a drink anywhere.

Bottom 3 rows to left of block S, other people in the block may not have been aware, we were sat there, that's why the whole block was kept back. Some people with kids were moved elsewhere by police as they obv weren't comfortable and niece left and went and sat in car halfway through second half as she said she didn't need to deal with people like that.

Beer involved, best part of 3 rows :censored:ed off to bar 10 minutes before half time and returned 10 minutes after and to a man didn't realise we had gone 2 1 down, started looking at each other quizzically saying " We're 2 1 down". Classy.com

Some people go to the game to have a decent day out etc. These are the people that regularly follow us away creating an atmosphere that makes the games enjoyable no matter what the football is like. Away games are a million times more enoyable for that reason and no its wonder we have always been a better away side with the negative atmosphere we have at home.

What do you expect someone to say when they missed a goal? jesus

Doesn't a decent day out involve supporting your team for 90 minutes or is beer 10 minutes before and after after half time with no idea what's going on the pitch in between including losing a goal more important????

Could say the same for.. What's more important watching your team for 90 mins, or ignoring "people like that".

Lighten up!

Each to thier own. They may miss 20 minutes of the game, why do you care? these are the people that create a good atmosphere and get behind the team and thats all i care about. I was sat down the other end for the first half near some whinging negative gits, no need to say how much more enjoyable the second half was away from those people.

Don't know whether it was related to either our fans or Dale's but there was a bit of trouble in the town centre before the game, apparently there was a group of oxygen thieves singing "if you all hate p*kis clap your hands". I missed the kick off after hanging back in the pub for a bit when we heard/saw a group of our fans being escorted by police singing the Harry Roberts song. I'd guess that might have contributed to the police being OTT at the game.

I was in that section and we had done nothing wrong. Yes we were stood up but I was three rows to the back not creating a disturbance yes singing nothing else. Jesus if they are annoyed at supporters singing to support there team why not just play behind closed doors.
