jimsleftfoot
...because without us, he wouldn't have had the opportunity....! And without him, we would have a) been relegated and b )lost out on lots of cash. Debt paid! Edited May 17, 2013 by jimsleftfoot
opinions4u
We timed his loyalty at two years. Time's up.
PlayItLivo
Until February most people on here wanted him to be on the scrap heap at the end of the season. Matt Smith stood up with an eye catching second half of the season, he has earned the right to take any chance he desires without begrudgement. laticsmarra
Matt is a good lad who put his best effort in and got his rewards for both Latics and himself. Good luck Matt.

ceskylatic
I reckon that he will stay. He's scored some important goals and some cash generating goals for us,but after analysing his two year stay with us I wouldn't be fussed if he stayed with us or went. rvlatic
Dont forget that his goals have come generally when we started playing to his strengths - crosses and headers.
MAC0AFC
from what you hear about smith... he isn't bothered about money in the slightest - his dad has a wad and he himself has a degree and said before we offered him the contract he could of been earning a lot more money elsewhere but his love for football made him decide to come to BP - so money won't be a factor of what club he chooses, it will be what offers him more in terms of learning and improving or playing at a great ground with a bigger team! In a graduate job he would probably be earning less than £600 a week he's reported to earning with us, but could potentially earn a lot more in the future. His Dad is a Dr and not short of a bob or two, but I can't see Matt living off his Dad. He seems very ambitious to me and if a decent chance comes up, I think he will take it.
