Dickov's words of wisdom . . .

Recommended Posts

Despite Corney giving in time again for loanees that just weren't needed. Only time he actually brought in players that were desperately needed were the strikers he brought in last season Derbyshire, Baxter, Barnard et al. I'd argue that Trotman, Todd, Wabara, Bunn, Tonk (2nd time), White, Evina, Christophe, Dikaba, Diallo, Amos, Mantom. Lund, Scapuzzi, Mancini etc were simply not needed and brought in to the detriment of our own kids/squad players/guys already in the team......yes the budget is generally poor but at some point during the season Corney realises it's going tits up has a crisis of confidence and rightly or wrongly allows an extra loanee or two....

One or two were needed such as Amos and Evina but mostly not needed as you say.. Just shows us how much money Dickov wasted here on pointless signings and some of them were on a fair chunk, our budget seems to have been better than quite a few teams in this division, think Corney said about a season ago our budget was around 11/12th in league and thats without some cup money being added to it..

What PD doesn't realise that we gave him his chance at management, feck me, he seems to think league 1 are full of big spenders and we were the only club who didn't splash . We got turned over, out smarted, out battled and overun, by teams with less to spend than him, for starters being dicked out of the FA Cup my Accrington is one memory Id like to forget.

PD wasted the budget and whilst he got in some good players also lacked the tactics to use them like Bernard and many more.

Barnard played one game under Dickov and scored.

Can we at least have one thread, it doesn't need something new every time he mentions us.

What happened to just wishing him well, rather than sniping at every single comment he makes?

Think it is valid to comment on anything Dickov says as most of what he said at BP appears to have been posturing over substance.

Whether or not that's true, that's a different discussion that I really don't want to have, the fella's gone. He's elsewhere, what's happened has happened. Part of being a football manager is giving the press some little sound-bites to use, usually concentrating on his current employers and maybe, subtly, being less than favourable to his previous ones. The key here is not to take it personally, ignore it and concentrate on what's going on in and around Boundary Park.

he's souped that one up though, Corney said at the meet and greet with LJ if we'd wanted to sign Marc Fernandez in 2011 it would have cost us 150-200k Euros in compensation to Real Madrid

He'll be factoring in the cost of the player's contract too.
