youngen
Mellor at ctr half and Grounds at left back. When Mills went off at Wolves, Mellow went LB and Grounds stayed CB.
Break The Silence
When Mills went off at Wolves, Mellow went LB and Grounds stayed CB. I'd much rather Grounds stayed at centre back. That way he won't have to attempt to pass to a blue shirt all that often.
welshgaz
Winchester Kusunga Grounds Mellor This for me. Mellor positonally and aerially is a liability at centre half.
Lee Sinnott
I'd much rather Grounds stayed at centre back. That way he won't have to attempt to pass to a blue shirt all that often. Is that a joke? The man oozes class...
ceskylatic
Rather have Grounds in his natural position at full back and Mellor in the centre than have them both playing out of position.
Dave_Og
So sort of 3 out of the four sort of out of position. Hmmm
Break The Silence
Is that a joke? The man oozes class...I'm not saying he aint a half decent player but, in my opinion, he can't pass for :censored:. PS. And before anybody mentions his cross for Saturday's winner I said his passing leaves a lot to be desired, not that he doesn't knock the odd decent cross in. For a lad of his ability, his short range passing could be a lot better. Edited October 29, 2013 by Break The Silence
ceskylatic
Excluding his fine assist on Saturday of course.
Break The Silence
Excluding his fine assist on Saturday of course. Ha ha, too quick for me. As above, I didn't say he couldn't cross. He just gives the ball away far too much for my liking.
ceskylatic
Personally,I don't think in general his passing ability is bad,but on Saturday he mis-placed four or five short range passes which led to us losing possession.
bpmarko
How about three at the back, plus two flying wingers, and Philliskirk behind two strikers, and a hatful of goals against a struggling side?

the_mighty_bosh
I'd probably rather play Mellor at CB than LB, either way it's an obvious weakness. Anyone know whether Joksts is anywhere near ready for the 1st team?

Constantly picks out passes to feet has great vision and control for a league one defender. He had a few stray passes Saturday which he's admitted himself on twitter but personally I'd take a few stray passes and a peach of an assist every game from my left back. Compare his distribution and all round game to the two left backs we had before him in Paul black and Bradley diallo (shudders) Can't pass for :censored: ? Nonsense

Break The Silence
Grounds has the ability to pass it well but this season his distribution has been poor. That's exactly how I see it. There's a player in there, undoubtedly, but his distribution has been generally poor this season. It hasn't just been isolated to Saturday. al_bro
Excluding his fine assist on Saturday of course. Was that cross meant for Rooney who it went over, or for Philliskirk who had to dive at it? I think it was meant for Rooney, so it was an accidental assist. I've been watching Grounds this season, and his distribution is atrocious.. Any player at our level should be able to pass the ball to one of their own when under no pressure whatsoever, but Grounds struggles at this basic skill. I was starting to doubt myself ha ha. Although taking Saturday's assist off him might be a bit harsh, he knocked it into the right area with a bit of pace on it.
