Bristolatic
Same format again, boys 'n' girls. I quite like it, but I don't know if anyone else does. It shows what everyone predicted without trawling through all the posts and it's a lot quicker for me. So tight at the top now as Ex_pat takes over No1 slot and only 7 points separate the top six. Two cracking attendance attempts, JoeP missing out by three and Latics_Fanatic by two. All who posted in the Free-to-Play League scored points as well. Stevie_J
The top three tied on points. Is this the greatest Prediction League season?
24hoursfromtulsehill
The top three tied on points. Is this the greatest Prediction League season? It's getting there. If it's like this on the final day you've got to believe that experience will count. I still think Harry will fade away, but Ex_Pat's never been in a helicopter Saturday situation before, so I'll be very confident. All coming nicely to the boil though. 24hoursfromtulsehill
FIFY Seriously though. This season has an epic feel, just like the 2012-13 classic. What happened on that helicopter Saturday has made this league what it is today. I'm classy enough to admit that the last couple of seasons haven't exactly been easy for me, farting around in the lower reaches with the likes of rudemedic, and I bloody won. (Look at the state of Joe P!) You can't fault Ex_Pat's credentials as a former champion, but he wasn't tested for final day nerves. You just don't know how people respond in those high-stakes, high-pressure conditions.
Ex_pat
I think this season has been the most competitive prediction league so far. It looks like quite a few players will be interested right up to the final day. If I am honest, last season was one of the worst with one player (yours truely) well ahead of everyone else. It was over weeks before the end of the season, and I think most people were losing interest (me included). This season we have a new leader almost every week. Anyone from Bristol upwards that can put a decent run together can put themselves in the mix. New blue has moved up 14 places since Christmas, and Carl Waters has moved 10 places up. Good examples of progress that can be made Pressure is on the guys at the top to keep performing. 1-1 draw specialist Disjointed seems to be feeling the pressure as he slips to 5th place after being top at the turn of the year. A strategy change may bring him back into the mix. Since Shez arrived, results look to be changing (for the better I am glad to say). This may benefit the more optimistic amounts us, and disadvantage the pessimist. Time will tell. Will I be on that helicopter for the last game? Only if the helicopter turns up. 24hoursfromtulsehill
I agree with that analysis largely - except for Ex Pat's flattery of people arriving in February or just about to become memories, like Harry and disjointed and "New" "Blue". You weren't there or even thereabouts, so you wouldn't know that the helicopter was carrying the trophy, hovering over Birmingham and waiting to hear whether to carry it to London or Liverpool. Neither Joe P nor I ever got on it. Don't worry. Everyone will forgive your lack of Historical knowledge and naivety...eventually.

Having lived far away from the UK for many years the only thing that concerns me in the UK is how The Latics are going. Until the helicopter is hovering to take the premier cup to Boundary Park, my interest in the greedy league is minimal at best.
HarryBosch
I remind myself of Latics in 90-91. Not out of the top spots all season. I'll probably steal it with a last gasp exact attendance cutting short 24Hours West Ham style premature celebrations....
