LaticsPete
With the media focussed on Old Trafford ( where the Mach was postponed not abandoned!) who recalls this? http://www.thestar.co.uk/retro/retro-bomb-could-have-gone-off-at-any-time-1-5798615
PlayItLivo
What do you mean it wasn't abandoned? People were in the ground, the players were warming up, the game was ready to go ahead. Given the circumstances I'd say abandoned is more appropriate term than implying that it's just a run of the mill "postponed" fixture. LaticsPete
Quite straight forward. Abandon means to give up on something that was underway. The match hadn't kicked off. If something hasn't started how can it be abandoned ? Doesn't matter what the reason is - has nothing to do with something being run of the mill or not
bigfatjoe1
I remember it. i thought it was a joke. Bastard Germans ruined my plans. Another reason to leave Europe......
