Its not about how hard you can hit, but how much you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take, and keep moving forward. Thats how winning is done.

Think the inclusion of this is geared more towards the gaming aspect of the iphone

But for someone who needs a smartphone with a good battery life, its not :-(

I will be amazed if the battery lasts a day with all these new gizmo's

No chance, my 3G broke after the 3GS came out and they were having none of it.

As for the 4G it's the standard step and not the giant leap, just as was expected, and if it's out by the end of July I should hopefully be able to get one on my renewal with O2.

Call to O2 today me-thinks.

You're wrong mate. Very wrong. And I told you to wait! What would it have been? About two months? Mentalist.

*Mark in self-awareness shocker*

In truth, I am only 11 months or so into my 3GS contract. I've heard a rumour that O2 might be nice to current customers and be willing to cut deals on early upgrades. This however, is likely to be limited to customers whose contracts end in 2010.

It does look a laaaarvely bit of kit. Let's face it, the iPhone is not purchased for its tech wizardry but because it is easy to use and it is, essentially, a fashion accessory much like the iPod was, the iPad will be and MacBook Pro's currently are. At only 9mm thin it looks amazing. If O2 won't upgrade me early, I might have to console myself with an iPad...

I think in some areas it has made nothing short of a huge step forward, in particular the screen, form factor (without sacrificing on the hardware) and speed. To think this phone is probably more than three times as fast as my first ever PC!!!

I am waiting on anxiously on the first reviews and may just pull the trigger if the battery life shows an improvement over the 3GS (as in I can get at least a day out of it with moderate - heavy use)

I think the battery life arguement is tiresome at best. The longer the battery just makes people ultra lazy, and the same people wouldn't bat an eyelid at a laptop with a 6-10 hour battery life. It's an multifunctional phone which uses a lot of power for lots of different tasks, you have to make sacrifices to get it as small as it is. I find sticking it on charge overnight, every night and for the quick top-up making sure you have an in-car charger (for about 1.99 from Amazon) more than suffices my needs. I'm rather liking the new iPhone4, especially the screen resolution and vastly improved camera. It's a distinct step up from my 3G, and when my contract reuns out in 10 months then hopefully the prices will have come down a little as well as any snags etc.

"The ball was drilled low across the face of the area by Zola to a rampaging riddler, about 20 yards out near the corner of the penalty area. One touch from Cooksey and thwaboom! The ball seared the turf as it cracked into the bottom left corner. It was a truly brilliant goal, with fluid teamwork and a marvellous finish giving Davison no chance at all."

I really wouldnt worry about this. I get at least a day out of my 3GS and have the following use most days:

over 3 hours of music
Regular email updates
30 mins or so of data updates (Guardian App, internet etc)
2 hours or more of phone calls

When I think my work dell laptop dies after an hour, I can hardly complain that a level of usage like that (and that's probably an average day, it is sometimes heavier) gets me 1.5 days. Trick is to let it run dead and fully charge up to half a dozen times when you first purchase...
