  1. Yep. He would actually give us what people think Fondop offers us (but very rarely actually does). Wouldn't turn my nose up at him at all
  2. Madine would be an upgrade on Fondop. Would have no issue with signing him at all. Would be a good foil for Norwood (or a potentially other signing)
  3. I'd be absolutely delighted with any of the names mentioned. Bracing myself for signing an 18 year old back up left back on loan from QPR
  4. Great stuff, it's a step in right direction I've got nothing against people having a flutter (I do the odd accy myself) but the way it is pushed particularly around televised sporting events makes me really uneasy
  5. You're entitled to your opinion and all but this is absolute nonsense. If anything there isn't enough done to prevent gambling addiction, you can't watch any sporting event without 3 or 4 adverts for betting sites with live odds being screamed at you every advert break, and it feels like half the clubs in the football league have a betting sponsorship.
  6. What's crazy is Mellon had predicted there would be an easterly breeze with sunny spells for the game after as well
  7. I'm not sure when we started expecting managers to be meteorologists. I'll add it to the list of bizarre things I've seen Oldham managers criticised for
  8. We've scored 4 away at Barnet and Rochdale and 3 away at Solihull already this season, all of whom are in the PO places. We'll absolutely compete
  9. The same Rochdale we recently put 4 goals past away from home?
  10. Think we're third in the form table under Mellon. Not gonna panic because our reserves lost a tinpot cup game tbh
  11. I think Shelton had been an OK player in a National League side too. Conlon won League 2 PotY at Vale. Agree on concerns about fitness, but without that he isn't coming to Latics I suppose
  12. Cracking signing on paper, won PotY the season they got promoted. Had a bad injury which it sounds like he hasn't really recovered from, fresh start at a lower level might do him some good
  13. I'm a fan of both of them, I think they're both more than capable at this level. Keeper is the least of our worries, don't understand why people think we need to strengthen there.
  14. There was a really good post from a Tranmere fan on here just after Brabin joined about how good he is at recruiting players and how big a part of their success under Mellon it was. Given the relative success Mellon has had already (points wise if maybe not consistent performance wise) with a fairly average squad I've got full faith that they'll recruit the correct players to seal a playoff position. They'll know full well where our deficiencies are.
  15. Stones hadn't done much before he signed for us either Maybe Mellon and Brabin know what they're doing?
  16. Couldn't give a shite how good the football is as long as we're winning games. Now outside the playoffs on goal difference and Mellon has only brought in one player (who is excellent). Very much of the belief once Mellon is able to strengthen we'll make the playoffs comfortably
  17. He's absolutely the man for the job. There's a lot of work to be done, not least the appalling home form, and we need new players in, but I still feel so much more confident with a proper manager with a proper CV in charge. The next month is massive; turn that home form around and get the right players in. If anyone can sort it I reckon Mickey can
  18. Yeah the abuse pre-kick off is a joke, I feel like some of our support revel in being able to give the players stick
  19. Yeah fair, was meant to be more of a compliment about his performance rather than a comment on the other players
