  1. "I'm not saying we aren't going in the right direction, but why aren't we going in the right direction" OK pal, makes sense. I wish we were in Scunny's place:(
  2. "Why is it taking us so long to point back firmly in the right direction?"
  3. After getting relegated from the division we're currently in. They're in the playoff places in the division below, we're in/around the playoffs in the division above. How are they going in the right direction but we aren't?
  4. Also, Scunthorpe are 15 points behind the mighty Tamworth in the division below. Bizarre comparison, they'd kill to be in our position
  5. Our fans are so quick to write off anyone if they don't hit the ground running straight away, it's infuriating. Let's write off a proven goalscorer at this level because he hasn't done much in cameo appearances after half a season of barely playing, great stuff
  6. The only way strikers are gonna pick up sharpness and confidence is by playing. Dallas is proven at this record but he's clearly lacking from confidence and gametime. I'd see the argument for not playing him if our other strikers were banging them in, but alas...
  7. This is weird Basically admitting you want him to fail Why even bother pretending you're a fan? It's really odd
  8. I agree, it's putting me off to be honest. Performances haven't been great recently, but I think anyone who was expecting exciting free flowing football in this division is deluded. By and large we're on an upward trajectory and yet I go to games and it's like we're 22nd or something. The atmosphere at York was so flat, like people expected a defeat. Despite the past few results the club is in a better position than it has been for years but the constant negativity is draining tbh
  9. Nope. Didn't sound good at all Doesn't stop the constant overreactions on here being hilarious
  10. First proper run of bad form under Mellon, I trust him to sort it out. Some of the bed wetters on here are hilarious though. We're still 6th
  11. Eastleigh was such a positive performance, absolutely infuriating they haven't built on it. Absolutely have to win on Tuesday or else I think we can start to worry. Luckily everyone around us is as inconsistent/shit as us
  12. Can't bring myself to get riled up about Dale at all, actually want them to do well tbh. The Chesterfield thing is weird, absolutely nobody cares about Chesterfield. During my time supporting Latics Huddersfield was probably the closest to a proper rivalry I've seen, for a few years in the 2000s anyway. Maybe Tranmere, but again I struggle to care that much about them.
  13. I think he's looked alright, especially as a youngster who's still learning and adapting. Really don't understand the constant eagerness to write players off, especially youngsters
  14. Couldn't make it on today but nice to see some balanced opinions on here. Probably not a bad point in the grand scheme of things, we're 4 points clear of 8th now and most teams around us are inconsistent. Tuesday is a big game of we have any hopes of catching 3rd though
  15. Maybe a controversial suggestionbut is it worth a pitch invasion to get us to play behind closed doors for the rest of the season? Someone could pee on their star player maybe? Just throwing ideas out there
  16. Tough one that as in his short time here Hammond has looked best when breaking the lines between midfield and attack, or he certainly did on Tuesday. I think he's the best fit for that advanced role
  17. Only taken them 7 seasons to find that consistency too
  18. I think it's probably more of an internet/social media thing tbf, people set their stall out and just refuse to change their opinion. Which I find really odd when it comes to football, surely you want your own clubs players to prove you wrong?
  19. I'll hold my hands up and admit I wanted us to offload Fondop earlier in the season, but that was more because I felt he was a liability temperament wise. He really seems to have improved a lot in that sense and knuckled down, and he's been a proper asset the last couple of months. Totally agree though, feels like there's a total lack of balance or credit when certain players play well.
  20. And if these players were in any way consistent, they wouldn't be playing for Oldham in the 5th division.
  21. There's an expectation now that players are going to come into the team and immediately hit the ground running, and if they don't then they're shit. It's completely unfair, especially with young players. I used the example of McAlmont above, the first few games for us he wasn't great as he'd never played proper mens football, then I think he ended up scoring double figures. There doesn't seem to be any patience at the club at the moment
  22. Yeah there's a bit of the Alfie McAlmont about him isn't there
  23. I was a bit perplexed at the amount of fans who were dismissive of us signing Garner tbh, gives us some proper aggression up front and he's a classy finisher. Two fantastic finishes last night
