Bromley, for sure. They’ll best whoever they have to play at their community complex and then I think they have the players to see them over the line at Wembley. I wouldn’t fancy playing at Altrincham either. I also think Rochdale would beat us too which is embarrassing because they have about 9 players fit, but they’re a team that are up for the fight and we don’t have that. Say we did get to Wembley… I think the occasion would be far too overwhelming for the players. They struggle when OAPs get restless in the main stand, never mind a passionate end of Wembley.

I have seen nothing from this team to suggest it has the guile to go up via the playoffs.

I have been banging on about it for ages but this set of chancers are mentally weak as piss. It's going to take a long time to instill any sort of winning culture at this club and it will take longer than any other place because of how utterly turgid we have been for the last 30+ years. I genuinely have no idea when we'll go back up and I'm not sure it's going to happen anytime soon.

Ehhh, nah. They were worthy of at least a goal, but they huffed and puffed and hammered us on the flanks. Strange pitch... the way Norwood went to hit his first chance he kind of weirdly kicked the turf that wouldn't have happened on grass. Solid 3 points. So many times have I seen us over the years huff and puff and then get rolled over by an opposition who nicked a goal. It was those sides that I normally saw make it to the playoffs as well. However, if we want to *win* the playoffs then, yes, improvement is needed. I'm sure some new signings will help the cause.

Writing was on the wall when you could see the tweets Norwood has liked. I reckon the squad will have been furious with Reid for posting the video and this course of action demonstrates that Mellon is not one to be messed with.

I just think mentally and psychologically we’re fucked as a club. Fans groan at not being full throttle against bin men up and down the land, fine.. but these are just average division 5 lads. They panic, shit themselves and fuck up. Bring in another player from other amateur institutions such as Altrincham or Gateshead, they too will crumble. They’re not mentally fit to do it at Boundary Park. They can’t do it at Boundary Park.

Just cold hard facts. We’re getting schooled by the mighty footballing institution that is Gateshead at home. They don’t have it in them. I don’t see much point in attending many more fixtures for this season.

This team, at present, just do not have the mental resolve to stage a successful play-off campaign. They crumbled at BP to *Ebbsfleet United* after the home faithful started to get agitated. We would no doubt lose the game at BP before ever making it to Wembley. Mellon looks to be the right man to finally achieve something at this football club in the 21st century. Finish strongly and aim for the title next year methinks.
