  1. Well as long as they pay they can chant waht they want then, bring out the racist chants , they payed whats the problem? it not like they sang he's a fat b*****d or something like that, when you sing "die ricketts die" its an embarressment to a family club. from what i can see its all mouthy kids and if they where confonted by other fans they would run a mile and sorry mate dont know you but if you think its ok then you sir are a muppet!
  2. fans who support their team in their own way are fans, people who sing songs wanting people to die are not fans, they are not showing support for anyone, they are muppets and unfortunatley we have a few in the chaddy and all over the ground
  3. Barnsley away under ronnie moore, not the furthest, but getting tonked after 20 mins and no effort. bristol city away 2-0, no shots at goal, out of bristol before the final whistle had blown qpr playoffs, nuff said man scum semi, nuff said anfield injury time , nuff said makes you wonder why you leave home on a saturday for football.......... then you realise you need that saturday fix, love it, even the bad days..........thats the life of a latics fan always so near yet so far away!
  4. I went to that game it was a monday though i think, paul gerrard saved a lat min pen and looked like we had scraped a reply, only for them to score a minute later anyway.it was snowing and that was the longest coach drive i have ever been on, wagged school to go and got a rollicking the next morning in front of everyone coz id been grassed
  5. i have to sgree with senor, when hainning cam into to the team he was a total athlete and a leader on the park , he never lived up to his potential, he was getting massive rave reviews when he came into the side and carried on for a few seasons, where is was noe to motovation or injuries all that potential dispersed. trotman is very good and will get better, but he is very similar to hainning in a lot of ways, lets hope he lives up to the hype.
  6. At this moment in time , trotmans distribution would need to improve greatly before he can be considered championship calibre or he could go the way of haining, i like trotters he is a strong defender , however his is still unproven over a season and learning as he goes , 500k good business, i would prefer him to stay and learn with us, but you can not turn that down if offered(we have been stung to many time), although i would put a large sell on clause on that. 75%?
  7. Whats the rush? 2 weeks to go yet, there is no point in getting people in for the sake of numbers, hopefully shez is making sure these targets are right for the team to push on this season, if we did get someone right away and he wasnt up to scratch then knives will be out again, be patient and trust in shez. although we are incosistent at the moment, i honestly belive if we diont make playoffs this season, we will achieve automatic next season, we have a young team still learning and a few of the right faces at the right time will see us kick on.
  8. i have actually said in a previous thread , allott is proving to be the exception to the rule, but lets get tipton back, he was young when he was here, someone mentioned boshell apparantly he is doing well at grimsby, scott and david mcniven are within our reach if we really want them. i just seems if people on here do not know any players except for premiership players they mention past players who were crap when they were here last time. regarding allott, he has been very good this season but he now plays in a different position and could he get any worse than his last spell?, totally different player now, but lets be honest we are 12th (i think) and that has alot to do with signing people like allott instead of trying to keep players like wellens (not a knock on mark, he is currently one of our better players but we should be looking at a better standard)
  9. bloody hell, we are back onto signing people that were not good enough the first time, we need new faces not old.
  10. hes gone now, who cares, he chose leeds for the good of his career, and that was the sensible decision. they are a bigger club and will move up the divisions alot quicker than we will, they can sign better players and he made the right decision for his him. i love latics but if it was benificial to my career and my family i would sign for dirty leeds, its a business at the end of the day , get what you can and get out, he owes us nothing. if he picked up a long term injury the week before he was due to sign for us , would we have carried on and signed him, i think not , so to believe there is loyalty in football in stupid fair play to the lad but he now plays for another club so lets forget about him and move on, he has.....................please!
  11. he did cost us the game today and if we sign clarke he will be dropped. it seems like all season he cant pass until he has scored and as the games go by he is getting worse especially seeing as its been a few weeks since his last goal. the same little drag back he tried at least 5 times today didnt come off and he sulked, if he got the ball anywhere within 30 yards of goal he didnt want to pass and thought he could do it all himself. it was summed up when he lost the ball and allott and i think macca went in on one man, the ball broke loose and davies slammed the ball as hard as he could into the crowd when if he composed himself we could have taken possesion in the attacking third. maybe the sub had somrthing to do with conceding but we should have been home and dry by then and davies is a lot to do with that. away we brake and use his pace at home he is a one man band raw talent is one thing , but total tunnel vision and selfishness is another. .........oh and he tried to pick a fight with trotman while the game was ongoing because he was told to sort his act out
  12. just a thought, are people saying irwin for what he did while he was with us, or for what he accomplished further down the road? either way i think he was oustanding, but as our best player he never won anything with us did he, i know he would have done.
  13. you'll never beat Earl Barrett logically, signed for next to nothing and sold for 1.7 million, the club record. when he was here he was superb player. although my heart also says, ritchie or palmer
  14. that is the biggest pile of s**t i have heard today. i like trotters a lot, dont get me wrong, but to say he wont have a bad patch is rubbish, his distribution is not up to standard either, (eardleys is better) i agree eardley has not been as consistent as he could be but both him and trotman are learning the game at this level.and they are bound to run into some poor form at one time or another you sound like the sort of fan that thinks if they run all day and put in effort they are good enough, thank god shez doesnt think like that because if he did we be in this division for another 10 years. thats why people like warne were released, great effort but not good enough
  15. not one of them deserves to be dropped at the moment , very tough and i appreciate what you are saying, but when eardly came into the team he was our best prospect for years, he is now a full international and a very steady player. just wondering what everyones reaction will be when trotman hits a bad patch, he has only played a handfull of games and is very young.
  16. the players are not being paid and if they dont sell they go under sooner rather than later. i hated it when it happened to latics but it is a business, this may help the stall the inevitable. besides they have sold 2 of their players for far more than any we sold during that period
  17. hoe many goals has he scored this season? has he got more than either of our strikers? if he has buy buy buy! goals win games!
  18. "the bringing back of the tangerine as created a real good feeling amoungst the fans, since when did the club ever have such a successful away shirt?" its a shirt for gods sake, the colour is irelavent as long as the team play together and i bet they are not arsed. every shirt/colour we wear can be associated with another club. seem to remember we won promotion and had a great cup run with a certain coloured SECOND KIT which some fans no longer want because a certain scum team down the road wear it.how many years do we wait before an argument for tradition can brought up for that?, it was also used in a home kit for 2 years although granted that was awful. its owtb not owtt its a second kit which will change again and again we would have beaten leeds and everton in red, white, green, yellow or pink with poker dots its nothing to do with the kit , its the players
  19. fair enough but they are the only players that we have re-signed kilkenny up for debate, eyre was not good enough although not bad and i liked him he did a job ( we now need more than that), the rest where not as good second time around , making a proffit or not.i know they where older and if vernon did come back wouldnt we have to pay for him?
  20. if he signs for us again, i will support sheridans decision and support him, but until then i hope we don't and thats my opinion, which in the grand scheme like all of us , counts for nothing.
  21. rick holden wasnt as good second time, andy goram wasnt as good second time, neil kilkenny wasnt as good second time, tommy wright wasnt as good second time. and barring one thay are club legends but i am sure if you put vernon up front, john eyre in midfield we are going to win promotion. well done senor. having a think i dont remember anyone else you might be able to drag up that was mediocre at best and played for us twice. my point is without trying to come across as a patronising t**t and probably failing is, palyers who have been and gone should not come back, we are trying to reach the championship and the players you have mentnioned are and where not good enough, if i am wrong then we should be in the championship already.shouldnt we? forgot neil adams, wasnt as good second time, legend
  22. i did say allott was the exception read further up, but if thats your point, why not sign 11 previous players who did nothing when they where here last time, you never know it might just work, . i hear matty tipton would re-sign maybe he would do better this time, palyoffs here we come!
  23. most of vernons goals came as laste consolations in defeats for us after he had missed good chances to take the game to the oppo, losing 3-0 the pressures off, easy to score, he wasnt first choice at blackpool. and i dont think we can say his goals sent colchester up. he certainly was not as good as porter or he would have reached the same figures in previous seasons, he certainly had the chances. im not saying he is a bad player but why resign him , in my opinion its a step back. most of the players sold over the last few years where not a success here and neither where the teams they where in so why bring those players back. we are looking for new faces not old faces who MIGHT do better this time
