  1. They may have just been told that they aren't starting at the moment so why not go out on loan and get some game time, play well, prove us wrong. Worked out pretty well for Connor Brown.
  2. If you're only going to get excited about winning trophies at that level then you're probably following the wrong team!
  3. But the point I was making was that the chances were created and missed. Good chances too. So the lack of goals in that game weren't due to defensive tactics, just bad finishing.
  4. I want us to win every game. I hate losing. And a by product of that is wanting us to win the JPT. The way you've phrased that suggests anyone happy about winning the JPT would have fulfilled their life goals. I'd be happy about it as it might generate a winning atmosphere around the place and lead to us finally getting out of this division. Plus I'd have a great day on the piss watching it. But no, we were once founding members of the premier league don't you know, this sort of thing is beneath us.
  5. Totally agree. It's almost as if the knives were being sharpened just waiting for an excuse to stick them in. One bad JPT game and all the positives from the league games are forgotten.
  6. Did you go to Bury? I didn't personally, but what you (and others to be fair) are saying there contradicts the reports of the Bury game where by all accounts (and off the highlights) with better finishing we could have scored 4 or 5.
  7. There are a few things I don't get about people being happy we lost... 1. We lost! How can that be a good thing? 2. After 20 years in the same division with hardly anything to get excited about how can we get snobby about a day out at Wembley in the 'wrong' competition? 3. We have a big squad and no reserve team, the JPT is the ideal place for the fringe players to get game time and try and show form.
  8. I'd rather have a club with a winning mentality and squad players who stake a claim for a run in the side with good performances when given a start.
  9. I'm sure those with reliable club sources who seem to know all the financial ins and outs will be keeping us posted on that score!
  10. I'm not sure what Darren Kelly could have said really other than we want to play attacking football and are working on it in training. What else is there to say? But for Barry to not be able to field the obvious stand question was ridiculous. They shouldn't have been on the show at all if it's still an open ended thing.
  11. It's like a monty python sketch. "Supporter since George Hardwick? Pah, luxury. I've been a season ticket holder since we were runner up in 1915. Darren, why aren't we signing a striker?"
  12. God forbid anyone should try and encourage a young Latics player in a home match. Kelly wanting to make Boundary Park a fortress? :censored:ing no chance.
  13. There's nothing wrong with the tactic if there's plenty of support from those behind.
  14. Croft isn't a striker though. Just watched the highlights and he really should have scored last night, but the way that some others are talking on here you'd think the ball was going in and Croft whacked it out for a throw. It just looks like he was trying to be a bit clever and put it back where the keeper came from. He took the wrong option. I don't think his industry should be overlooked. He's got history of creating a lot of chances and in the last couple of games we've not had our main striker and the focal point of our tactics. For me the priority is to have Dunn in the side asap. And with him in we probably need Croft's tracking/running etc rather than Winchester. Winchester on the bench - shows we have great strength in depth in midfield.
  15. 1 goal against in 3. Not bad considering defence was the major pre season worry.
  16. Calm down mate, I'm just trying to see how we can get all our ducks in a row.
  17. Good on the club for reaching out of sorts but would this be a good one for the trust to take the lead on? Have an open meeting where all issues regarding 'matchday experience' are raised then present them to the club and work with them for a solution. Might be more effective than this guy getting 100 emails about running out of pies.
  18. You should have a word with the football league. According to them we're 6th and unbeaten. Someone's obviously got the table completely wrong.
  19. Is Winchester up to the physical side of being a full back? Tackling/tracking back/blocking etc
  20. I'm curious, what do you get out people replying? Was thinking of going out for a pint tonight but might stay in and do some trolling instead. Looks quality.
