He looked better when against ibehre more of a battle of strength. Mvoto is the best we have but when against pace he is left obviousley lacking he needs somebody behind him who can mop up etc. Mvoto would look even better playing alongside Byrne as a CB pairing.

One game in and I think the reason for such negative attitudes already is that after watching yesterday its all the same old problems. One day we will realise we haven’t got the budget for class players who can play the ball and dominate with a passing game. We need a team of fighters and bigger players, hate hate hate to say it but we are no further forward on the pitch since the Ronnie Moore era. Just watch Tranmere this year similar budget but they will finish well above us!

I sat there yesterday wondering why did we sign Connor brown only to play cliff Byrne as right back and give the tall but weak Tarky CB position? IMO it should be Mvoto & Byrne as the back two with Grounds and Brown as left & right back. Tarky yesterday did himself no favours especially for standing face to face with their man for so long with his back against play. We have sent better players out on loan in the past but money is tight and I can understand why Dickov plays him but not why it’s at the expense of better players who will help us field a stronger more balanced back four. If Dickov isn’t careful Tarky will be pushed out of favour permanently by the fans at this rate without filling his potential in the slightest.

I don’t want to see Luke McCormick have a career in football. In my opinion being a professional footballer is more than a job it’s a privilege. Luke worked as a cleaner on his day release in charity shops etc perhaps if we were to deny him a career as a cleaner my mind set would be different but it’s not the case. The fact he cant kick a ball around professionally is not drastically denying the man a chance to earn a living no more so than a teacher if they fail a CRB check. If he is remorseful then why chose to be in the public eye again and further antagonise a families grief? I don’t think anyone on here can be accused of being hypocritical in terms of supporting Oldham Athletic and our club offering Lee hughes employment that’s not our fault as fans but the directors and chairmans dilemma etc. There are many aspects of Lukes case and others that are wrong and if we were to discuss the failings of the British justice system we would need a web forum dedicated to it 24/7! This information was supplied by Councilor Jim McMahon after a basic enquiry I made. I had a bit of a dig at the council for the lack of information and progress on what is in essence a publicly funded community initiative. You could probably request more under the freedom of information Act with public money being used but I just wanted an update, as there has been nothing coming out of the club.

Thank you for your email. On 1 August 2011, the Council's Cabinet resolved to acquire the Lancaster Club from Oldham Athletic and to pay a capital grant of upto £700,000 (seven hundred thousand pounds) to assist in the development of a new North Stand. The assistance offered by the Council therefore was twofold. In agreeing to purchase the Lancaster Club - at a price that had been independently verified as representing Market Value - the Council conditioned the acquisition whereby a portion of the purchase money would only be released based on the progression of a new North Stand. Therefore, if development of the North Stand did not take place, the club would not realise the full value of the Lancaster Club site. In terms of progress, again to protect the Council, it was agreed that the purchase would not complete (and therefore that Oldham Athletic would not receive the purchase money), until such time whereby the Council had achieved planning permission for the Lancaster Club site. For your information, the planning application was submitted on 19 April 2012 and it is hoped that the Council would receive the necessary permission - which would allow the purchase of the Lancaster Club to complete - within the statutory timescales for planning determination. In terms of the grant, in order to 'kickstart' the development works (appreciating that the club would not receive the Lancaster Club money immediately); the Council have already made £300,000 (three hundred thousand pounds) available. This money is available to help fund the preliminary works - including design fees etc. I understand that Oldham Athletic have some initial designs and have been busy showing these to potential operators who would occupy parts of the stand and help generate the ongoing revenue which the club requires. In terms of these operators, whilst agreements are still being negotiated, it would be inadvisable for the Council to release this commercially sensitive information. However, I would like to stress that, Oldham Council has directed a number of enquiries to the club and they are naturally taking the lead on the negotiations with the third party operators. I trust that you will find this information sufficient for your purposes and would hope that upon completing the Lancaster Club purchase, this would prove to be a catalyst for redevelopment at Boundary Park. I am sorry and I am not just saying this for the fun of it but Simpson is the best of a bad bunch! I haven’t thought much of him since we signed him after his Loan period. If he would have played like he has since signing, during his loan period I would have seriously questioned signing him on a permanent basis. I would like to see a new front two next year, theres nothing to build on with our strikers after the epic fail in goalscoring this season.

Kuqi has had 31 shots on target in the league this season and has played 35 times! He's not ever in the box long enough to be effective because he has to come deep to get the ball.

I think it’s got past the stage where the management need to look at themselves long and hard at their methodology. Two things we will all agree that we can’t do as a team, Defend particularly well from crosses or set pieces and score goals in the box! Who do we bring in to coach the players the knowledge needed, I know two players who spent the majority of their careers playing in those positions in the top flight to coach the lads….Wait a minute haven’t we got that in Taggart and Dickov?? Start on the training ground boys and stop relying on two or three of the better players to scrape through its not working!! Say what you will Kuqi is past it and won’t be the 20 plus a year we need take off penalties and hes average.

How about next home game donating a euro millions ticket to the club for the following draw 1000 or so tickets you never know!!! lol Only if the club spend the money on ground redevelopment and players first though mind. If I won I would build a new main stand and ensure there is an infrastructure to earn cash all year round for the club. And a few million for squad redevelopment and funding cheaper tickets.

In all honesty nothing Latics do or don't do worries me really, worry is quite a strong word and I simply don’t care enough anymore it changes my life none. However while I continue to pay for season tickets to watch a team as a form of (and I use this word lightly) entertainment, it frustrates me somewhat at the lack of progress and desire from paid professionals that happen to find themselves in the same place and time together on the pitch to represent said club. That comment there is half of the problem with Latics fans. Living in the past! UPDATE: We play in the old 3rd Division. We have no money. We are losing what core fans we had. We have the worst Ground in the 3rd division. We can however as fans that remain at least expect some kind of Passion and fight from our players and Management team!

I understand your point with regards luck but to lose games in the last five minutes at the rate we have this season isn’t down to luck. I am fed up of hearing Paul Dickov saying we don’t deserve to lose. To make it easier here is a quote from dickov after the Stevenage game how many games during the course of this season could this quote apply to?? Words don’t win you anything nor secure your league status! “It was a real sickener.
