  1. good points on some of the technicalities. but there is still no valid argument which explains why a `professional football player/or players , who are physically capable, cannot maintain or even excel in keeping up fitness levels in between a match, however long the gap. if the training regime is kept intensive, then any athlete should be totally ready in every way. ffotball in general seems to use the old `not mat fit` or `lacks match practise` way too easily and the too many fans take it as a valid reason........ it`s total bull. rochdale easily continuing on their unbeaten/ winning streak after a lengthy lay off like us recently are living proof.
  2. on a totally selfish note........i would love to think that he`s give em what`s for on behalf of us lot regarding the mess we`re in, and that it just may begin to turn the tide from within. but more importantly......hope he`s ok whatever the reason is.
  3. a bit late coz i`ve been away....... the point is that `CRAP` is what we were against tranmere.......... not just one player who is 60/70% fit after injury comeback..........the totally silly excuse of " the whole squad were rusty or jaded ".......i mean come on?? football as a whole has made a myth into reality for some and they just say " oh, okay then, that explains it".........CRAP !!
  4. nooooo ! the whole point is the word `PROFESSIONAL`.......well paid sportsmen....full time sportsmen........who are ther for hours every day honing their skills....training hard........eating properly.........getting fully prepared for a sporting event. this is not N.W.C.L football.....this is pro` football.....there is no room for such excuses...it is bullsheet. do not accept it any longer.
  5. all this `not match fit ` malarkey is total bullshjt...... it is a total myth and a very poor excuse churned out by many..and believed by too many more in football. THINK about it.....would you accept a top surgeon botching a routine bit of surgery on you coz he hasn`t "performed that particular procedure for three weeks" ??. or would it be acceptable that a world champ boxer was `ring rusty` after losing a big fight coz "all he`s been able to do for the last 3 months is merely train for it" ?? or would it be acceptable that jenson button coming in last at F.1 coz it`s been "a whole three weeks since his last race" and that`s why he wasn`t up to pace?? it`s so simples......... we are talking` PROFESSIONALS` here.......even o.a.f.c fall within that bracket and have professional training /dieticians/trainers/physios/managers etc. anyone, and i mean anyone who chooses to continue subscribing/accepting or believing the utter crap that somehow footballers are `different than the countless other professions in terms of fitness and readiness come match time is as bad as the idiots they are believing. after so much time on the sidelines recently due to the weather, our so called professionals should have been absolutely bursting with fitness , and ready to apply themselves from the off.
  6. i don`t think it`s his `style` of play that we differ on too much......it`s what level we think he can cut it at.......i`m pretty sure mr beckford, and mr dagnall et-al, will only have been seen by many as `half decent` non leaguers for most of their careers prior to someone finally seeing they could make the step up. lee blackshaw can certainly step up, and would be superb on our left flank, but our club historically has a real stigma re: non-leaguers.....it`s like they are not even worth a look,or invitation to trial??
  7. you know what?........you could have a very valid point there? happy new year
  8. `lee blackshaw` at mossley fc is perfect........watched him loads of times. left footed attacking winger.......cool as a cucumber.......consistently leaves the opposition for dead......total ball control......fast as f**k......great awareness,,,,,,,superb accuracy in delivery of ball long or short.......he`s got the lot believe me, and would easily cut it ( and shine ) at this level......even beyond.

  10. would you be motivated to wear our blue shirt after reading pennys totally tactless comment before you were recalled to b.park ??? Penney admitted: "He wasn't going to get a look-in here if things would've gone to plan. But, obviously, with the injuries we've had, we need him back here now." think about it folks???..........that comment was proper numpty.
  11. after watching us do a complete wimp of a performance against leeds the second time around, using the exact same totally ineffective tactics, i find it difficult to imagine how you realistically think we are easily better than anybody in this division. ok granted, i have not seen county this season.......but either way you look at it, no matter how she-ite they may be, their `on target` shots ratio is twice as good as ours during `recent weeks`...... 60 shots to our mere 30. i for one am not taking anything for granted this season re `the lower teams`.........we are one, and we are in danger.
  12. half time.....brighton 1-2 colchester. ooops !!
  13. i vaguely remember our beloved physio marc thingummyjig saying on his appointment that thigh/calf/groin/or any other type of these common strains as being a cardinal sin whilst the squad are under him as most of them can be prevented through correct training methods.......where the heck is he in this ???......the players are falling like flies under his care.
  14. we have to get a bloomin shot on target......however bad they are !!!
  15. still reckon o`grady is overrated......o`grady is thriving at dale coz of the excellent support play all around him......95% of passes to him are accurately placed to his feet......there is always some-one overlappig or to square it to......he never has to play deep to get a sniff of the ball........and he very rarely has a HOOOOOOOF to deal with...............he`s had a strikers life of luxury while at dale. he`s in for a rude awakening when he comes back to b.park to play under the penny system !!!!
  16. tta have personally made sure that all the players and staff have at least 2 square meals each day at the clubs expense........ so they are clued up i`m sure.
  17. if stockport continue in playing their more positive attacking footie as they are doing, they are twice as likely to score in that time.....they may not even have to make up a gap of 7 points.....coz the way we are consitently playing of late, it is us who will be losing a 7 point gap to them. i`m not trying to be smart, or truly predict anything, it`s just that i can clearly see a trend of play between the two teams were stockport are much stronger than us......and i am genuinely concerned that we are the weaker of the two, and before we know it.......!! but yes........let`s see what january looks like.
  18. my heart is with you on that..........but my head tells me pennys ultra cautious/lone stiker/hoofball tactics will still be there with no real go at em plan b.
  19. wether or not you realise it, our `lowly` neighbours...... stockport.......propping up league one.......will move above us very soon if both teams current form continues........... it`s like a stealth thing.......it`s happening in the background, and before you know it....too many will be saying "WTF !!". THE FIGURES AND FACTS AIN`T LYING. game for game, over the last 10 played. stockport have had 60 `on target` shots on goal to our 30......that`s twice as many shots as us folks...... they have also scored twice as many goals than us....10 to our 5.......they have won twice as many games than us...2 to our 1........and they have even conceded less goals......14 to our 16.......oh and they have created 1/3rd more corners than us....57 to our 38.....and this is their bottom club form!! if they continue plugging away til the seasons end with that form, and we with ours, one thing is for certain, they will end up above us, and even if it`s by one place, ie; second from bottom, it means we will end up propping up the league instead of them !! those are the facts folks, a lot of effort has gone into compiling those stats....coz i really care about this club....and i`m genuinely worried about both our form and our future.
  20. ok......call me a fuddy duddy......a non-believer......a party pooper.... or just a plain old pessimist........... but i really reckon for those of you hoping for a cameo appearence of our `beloved` video starlets at the world famous mare on match day, be prepared to be VERY dissapointed. (you were warned )
  21. up in the higher echelons of boundary park.......someone.....somewhere.....has been reading this m.b and FINALLY taken it on board that........." if mohammed won`t go to the mountain" etc.... about ferikin time too.
  22. NOW ENTER WHAT YOU THINK,THEY ACTUALLY MEANT There's been a lot of positivity about the ground move...the local businesses in Failsworth are particularly supportive, lots of letters, phone-calls emails and texts received in support.--- ( NO MENTION HERE OF THE `ACTUAL PEOPLE` OF FAILSWORTH BEING SUPPORTIVE AS THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT ). some people aren't true believers about the new stadium or convinced by the necessity of the move- (THE MAJORITY ADD UP TO MORE THAN `SOME` !! need a stadium with four sides, pleasant to visit and able to entertain guests- (YEAH...WE COULD SELL A HULL OR STOKE STADIUM ALL DAY LONG, BUT NOT THE ONE WE HAVE ALLOWED TO RUN DOWN TO THE BARE BONES ). still a little bit of opposition and not reported correctly, sensitive to opposition but we are the custodians of the club and we think it will be of benefit to the club and it is the right decision - not a done deal.- ( `A LITTLE BIT OF OPPOSITION`...`SENSITIVE TO IT`- REALLY MEANS A LOT OF OPPOSITION, AND WER`E ONLY A `LITTLE` SENSITIVE TO IT.....AND `WE` ARE UN-DEMOCRATICALLY PLOUGHING AHEAD ANYWAY....REGARDLESS. Some people just don't want change-....(BUT WE ARE CAREFULLY PLOTTING A COURSE WHICH ALL OPPOSITION WILL HAVE TO ADHERE TO EVENTUALLY). Still hoping to break ground in the Spring- ( MOST PROBS ON APRIL FOOLS DAY) Corney reckons the training and professionalism and camaradery is the best in his 6 years- ( LIKE, YEAH MAN...ANYTHINGS BETTER THAN THE LAST 5 REGIMES WE`VE PAYED OUT FOR ). Pleased for Brill in his upturn in form (must be pre-Southampton)- ( COZ DAVE MADE A RIGHT COCK UP LETTING FLEMING GO OUT `ONE WAY ONLY` TIL BLOODY JANUARY ). Newton reckons the new ground will be the catalyst for increased crowds and that will bring success on the pitch- ( EVEN THE NAME `FAILS-WORTH` DOES`NT RING ANY ALARM BELLS WITH US ). Penney - culture of inclusion, professionalism translating itself onto the pitch- ( BUT WE DO HAVE EXCEPTIONS, Eg- NO COMPETITION FOR KEY DEFENSIVE POSITIONS ). Mood in the camp is a marked improvement on previous regimes, training hard- ( NO MORE SHEZ BRINGING A CRATE OF ALE IN FOR THE LADS TO HELP WITH PRE-TRAINING WARM UP ). Loanees - Corney do we ever say no?.... (.I`LL LET MR NEWTON ANSWER THAT ONE). Newton - We'll have to see how viable the request is. ( IF IT`S KEEPER , OR C-B COVER THEN `NO`...BUT MORE MID-FIELDERS ARE WELCOME ).
