  1. I doubt whether Russ Abbott would want to come to a three-sided Boundary Park, he wants an atmosphere!
  2. ha ha its 2-0 Messi has made a mess on that parade! I hadn't thought of it like that boundary blue, cheers! I might ask if I can work overtime now if it stays like this.
  3. I have the misfortune to work in Old Trafford overlooking an unsightly giant piece of meccano. We have just received an email at work which says if Man Ure win the Champions League this evening there will be a victory parade tomorrow with all roads and access closed from 2.30pm ready for the parade at 5.00pm. The parade starts from Manchester Town Hall and finishes at Trafford Town Hall on Talbot Road, it is highly likely that staff who drive would not be able to get their cars out of the car parks until 10.00pm. Staff that do use public transport normally, work until 3.00pm, unless they want to see the parade. Staff that CAN use public transport as an alternative, do so and work till 3.00pm, unless they want to see the parade. Staff that can use an alternate site such as Preston or Warrington etc do so and work normally. Engineers and site staff should arrange site visits for the afternoon and be out of the office by 13.00 and work normally All other staff to leave around 2.00pm. Please note this will only be invoked in the extremely unlikely event that Man U will actually beat Barcelona. (Boss is a Leeds fan). I obviously want Barcelona to win but if they do that means working until 5pm as normal? If the unthinkable happens I get the afternoon off! I don't know what to wish for now, what would you do in this situation?
  4. If they do breakdown I don't think ordering a taxi is the answer, we got taken for a ride last season by Kabba & all the loanees throwing a spanner in the works. We dont want any more passengers if the Service is not good enough again. Hopefully these Carrs will be ok & will have Parts to play, the club has done enough Hiring & Firing recently.
  5. http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-fea...urden-for-clubs If you read this story it looks like we will need these two Carrs next season, there are some long trips ahead. Hopefully they have good engines & can give us back that spark that has been missing.
  6. I think ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK'S 1967 hit 'Release Me' is quite appropriate, Maybe Allott, Gregan, Stam, Maher, Crossley, Bell, Liddle, Kalala, Hughes, Wright & Sheridan could all come back one day & sing it at half time. Please release me, let me go For I don't love you anymore To waste our lives would be a sin Release me and let me love again I have found a new love, dear And I will always want her near Her lips are warm while yours are cold Release me, my darling, let me go (Please release me, let me go) For I don't love you anymore (To waste my life would be a sin) So release me and let me love again Please release me, can't you see You'd be a fool to cling to me To live a lie would bring us pain So release me and let me love again (Let me love, let me love)
  7. I've just won a holiday to Mexico but I can't go - I'm pig sick The Doctor thinks I've got that swine flu....I've got rashers all over my body.
  8. Looking at the names in the frame I can't really say I am inspired by any of them. I think tomorrow could well be a massive anti climax for many Latics fans. I only hope that the poll on here has not influenced TTA. 33% have voted for Gannon at the moment so to me that means 67% don't want him.
  9. Slump!-Dogs!-MillionEyres! star pictured with next seasons defensive partner.
  10. (Can we have an owl icon thing?) Thanks for info Chaddy, it can't be easy typing all that with those big wings.
  11. I was just looking on the fishal website because I want to enrol the kids in Chaddy's Gang but there is nothing on there whatsoever? No information, no application form, no details or any mention that it even exists? I hate to say it but its typical of Latics. We have arguably the most famous mascot in the country & don't take advantage of the marketing opportunities etc. that can bring. This is the first step in becoming a Latics fan, these are the next generation. It can't be that difficult to have a CBeebies type page on the website with things like birthday mentions, newsletters, games, jokes, competitions, pictures of falling off a bike, things to do? These days you have to do things like this to get kids interested. The club seriously lacks ideas & effort in recruiting fans. Its not enough to say you can have £70 quid back if we sell 4500 season tickets, we all know that is unlikely, I doubt if we will sell half of that. We need a Sean Jarvis type person at the club who can come up with better ideas & initiatives.
  12. They should build it on the site of the Lookers Stand & make them watch the football as part of their punishment. It might make some think twice as well before doing a crime.
  13. No No No not that nutter off Corrie? Always causing trouble that one, we have enough problems. What about Roy Race at Melchester Rovers? He has done it all as far as football is concerned. He has been in the game since 1954, won just about every major trophy in the game, either as a player, player manager or manager. One trophy which has eluded him is the World Cup, although he has played for and managed England. He is now back managing Melchester Rovers, after a spell in Italy. Roy has had his downsides as well. He tragically lost his left foot in March 1993 (that might be a problem on the training pitch?) and his wife Penny was killed in a car crash in Italy in 1995. Everyone questioned his managerial skills when he signed Steve Norman and Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet during the 1985/86 season but if he could turn them into footballers then maybe there is hope for the likes of Wolfenden?
  14. And? I fail to see your point. Jewell has a proven track record of getting clubs* promoted from this league & then onto the Premier league (*see Bradford, Wigan). In the meantime little old Oldham haven't. Mr Gannon for me offers no more than Mr Sheridan did. Whoever we get needs to wield the axe & not be influenced by big fat Joe. (If he tries to convince them that the big bad Wolf is the answer up front then Im Little Red Riding Hood). The clear out needs to extend to the coaching staff as well as the players, Wright & Duxbury should have gone with Sheridan. And whilst we are at it, this club will never progress with Alan "thats another fine mess you got us into" Hardy in the background.
  15. Are you having a laugh? I would seriously question his judgement having signed Davies & O'Grady. Paul Jewell gets my vote.
  16. Ha ha ha brilliant stuff! Keep em coming, loving your work!
  17. Be realistic do you think he would dislodge next seasons CM pairing of Westlake & Kalala?
  18. I was under the impression that the fans fixture had been cancelled? http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsU...1636342,00.html or is Joe picking the first team the same way? Maybe Kalala is bidding for the number 9 shirt. (Im being sarcastic oafc0000)
  19. Right here we go lets try again. Thanks very much I will bear that in mind for the future. (joke) (cwt) (I was being sarcastic, there does that help you?)
  20. Thanks very much I will bear that in mind for the future. ....oh yes I see what you mean now, you cant tell if I am being sarcastic or not?
  21. Oh dear oafc0000 sarcasm seems to be lost on you. If you must know I feel for the Southampton fans & Luton fans & Bournemouth & Rotherham (not so much Leeds) & any other club in a similar boat. Do you really think that I would take delight at their predicament when we have been there & done that ourselves not so long ago? I was trying to make the point that if things dont improve next season form wise then we will at least have a 10 point cushion on a potential relegation rival. Call me pessimistic if you want, I hope to God we are not involved in a relegation scrap but I would not be surprised one bit if we are* (*based on the current squad). However call me optimistic if you want, I am prepared to wait & see what changes are made during the summer as I have every faith that Joe will clear out the deadwood & bring in some better players.
  22. Realistically as the 2009/10 season starts in August depending upon when he signs a 12 month contract he only has 9 or 10 months to to get that elusive first victory. Do you think this is achievable in such a short space of time?
