  1. Just to let people know, we raised over £400 at the quiz tonight. Thanks to everyone who turned up to support us it means a lot.
  2. Just a gentle reminder of tomorrows quiz. Any support you feel like turning up and giving would be more than appreciated for a good cause and it's in a pub so you can have a beer or three, double whammy.
  3. Factor50 are holding a quiz night at the Bank Top Tavern on King St in Oldham town centre (side of mecca bingo) on Thursday September 18th starting at 8.30pm in aid of Malignant Melanoma research. £2 per person to enter and supper is included in the entry price. Prize for the winning team. Latics have very kindly provided us with a ball to auction signed by this seasons division 1 champions elect and Lancs have provided us with a cricket bat signed by this seasons squad including Andrew Flintoff. Both items have a £20 reserve on them. Start your weekend early and come along and support us. Ok mr mod it's a fair cop, i know strictly speaking it's not an out and out football related post and it should be in the taproom (actually it is) but it's more chance of being seen on the main board here, i'm being proactive and while i'm being cheeky any chance of a pin until Thursday?
  4. Beat Crystal Palace 3 - 1 away 25/04/64, i was born the following Saturday, at home, in the middle of the FA cup final. Think my dad wasn't fully focused on the job in hand in a "can't you keep your legs crossed until full time woman" kinda way.
  5. Now you know it's more than my life is worth to reveal that information Stipe, the way you phrase your question anyone would think it was just lying around the house and she tripped over it 3 days after losing it. Obviously that's not the case in any way shape or form at all, oh no.
  6. Just to let you know panic over, it's turned up, unfortunately that means the picture of my ugly mug that was on it from our bucket collection will be appearing on some Factor50 associated website or other. Then you will see what she means by gormless! Thanks for peoples concerns and suggestions of help, much appreciated.
  7. Yeah Gill has dropped Alan Hardy a text so i'm sure the youth team players will be called in early Monday to scour the ground Bob She just asked me to stick summat on here whilst yesterday may be fresh in peoples minds, not sure she would want the Chron involved, you never know what you might find on these cameras
  8. I realise it's a long shot but Gill lost her digital camera somewhere along the line yesterday when we were out and about collecting in the rain. If anyone has found or knows someone who has found a camera yesterday can you PM me or Gill so she can collect it. When we were in the ground we were sat in the Chaddy End row X beginning with aisle seat 125. Any chance a mod could pin this just for a few days to give people a chance to see it so it doesn't disappear down the page. Ta
  9. It's Eardley, he went to the Christmas party dressed as Arthur Scargill (he's a big fan apparently) and someone from Cardiff saw him out and about got confused and reported back to Ian Mcgregor ( who's the shadowy power behind the throne there, allegedly,Ridsdale just being the front man ). Word is he's never been the same since receiving the blow on the head during the 84 strike that knocked him unconscious and since then has been hell bent on reviving king coal believing that Thatch actually told him to save the industry. So when he got chance to sign Arthur... You read it here first.
  10. "Deposit in my bucket", better bring my splash proof overalls and goggles then Stipey As for naked day, it was a girly without make up fer the day, which is not what i was expecting! You're right by the way, i don't think we knew how hard it would be when firstly Gill set up Factor 50 and i became involved in helping. You find you have to fight so hard for every break you get to involve people who can make a difference. But every little victory makes the ignored e mails and unreturned phone calls slightly easier to bear. I'm sure everyone who reads this must be aware of the dangers of skin cancer, it's never been out of the news recently, but please don't just think it could never happen to me.It could. It happened to Jon who was only 30 out of whose plight Factor 50 was born and he certainly wasn't a sun worshipper who chased a tan, we are all aware of our Ernie who passed at 28 and i have a niece who is recovering from Malignant Melanoma after having a tumour removed, she's 28 and again not a sun worshipper. It really is an awful disease but we are doing everything we can to give Christies a platform to research and develop a promising trial to find a cure, anything that anyone can throw in our buckets on August 9th will go towards this end and i promise you you will be making a difference. If one of the mods is reading this is there any chance it can be pinned to the top so it doesn't get lost down the page, would be much appreciated. Thanks Andy W
  11. You know, years ago i used to go to a club in Oldham called Dreamers... Wasn't the greatest club in the world but it had a spark about it.Sometimes people i had never met before used to make me laugh my arse off now and again. Digest and discuss new big thread users.... Lees your a moderator i expect better, make people gag with your seepage story you need to set the bar here.
  12. Lees any chance this could be pinned to the top with the heading Ernie Cooksey Benefit Game/Factor 50 Fundraising or something similar.Ta fella.
  13. I'm having Cheryl Tweedy shouted in my ear, personally i'm thinking Pete Burns on a good day.
  14. The roads only 10 feet wide, take a deep breath and play chicken.
  15. Well you're no oil painting yerself, two hat!
  16. me,it's like Groundhog Day. You're gonna have to keep repeatin' this G until you can do it without swearing :laught16:
  17. Yes we did but she decided to fool people and not wear one,to say she was singularly unimpressed with what she saw would be understating it,no doubt she will share her opinion when she gets around to signing on here! Really should work today but not at all in the mood, that's beer on a Sunday evening for you.Have a few jobs that need a visit later so will do a couple of hours at tea time.Love my job me
  18. Refusing to give em directions won't stop em travelling. Been a breath of fresh air this qualifying campaign, drawn in deaths own personally picked group of death (can we have a death smiley please mr administrator, black cloak, scythe and a big toothy grin,oh and waving a saltire,ta) and we have been magnificent.Far from being the most talented players in the world but as a team couldn't ask for more from them.At the start of qualifying it would have been laughable to think we could have topped the group with 2 games to go,but we did it,on merit (you don't beat France home and away by being totally lucky, you do it by being organised and playing to your own strengths,it doesn't just happen).Must admit that if the first choice team are injured or suspended we don't have the strength in depth to replace them hence Georgia but under Smith and now Big Eck we are a world away from the shambles that was Berti. We won't qualify, that would be too good an ending for Scotland but i wouldn't bet against us qualifying for the next world cup as this sort of group comes along once in a lifetime for a team. The futures bright, the futures tartan
  19. Indeed i do and yes Stipe "Suff" as well. Did you know that when Zimbabwe was still Rhodesia Hwange National Park was called Wankie National Park? Take it that it wasn't very good then. http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-90416...e-National-Park
  20. Actually,on reflection, you would think the good burghers of Norfolk would change its name to Norfu
  21. Here you go Stipey it's official. It is big and clever and also cathartic. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/norfolk/7047536.stm
