  1. We all play in Blue and Tangerine, Blue and Tangerine, Blue and Tangerine etc etc etc (obviously only when we need to drag out the third kit) - incidentally, when is that likely to e this season?
  2. Problem is he may not be wanted - and then he sticks around waiting for a couple of injuries to come in and show that he is not match fit
  3. We will never know now, but I wonder if the 'first' team would have beaten Burnley? A draw against one of the big boys would have brought in revenue that was not in budget - money that may have to be found through a player sale? Back on track for Colchester I hope - a new ground and the league leaders in town -
  4. 'Threatening to sell a player is a pretty low act imo' - this is not a threat - it is a hard fact of life owning a football club - we are not the first, will not be the last and are certainly not the only club who have to think this way - if we sell Taylor or Eardley in the next week it is because we don't have enough money coming in the door - the missing fans will return if the feelgood factor returns - that will come if we continue to play good football and win - but if we arer losing money then selling is the only option sadly. So let's beat Burnley and draw Man U away in the third round - this will bring a large wedge in and maybe we will not even need to sell Then once we beat Man Ure it's all the way to Wembley
  5. Gee Laticsmad - you are a hard man huh? If all it takes for you to say bye bye is the sale of one player then I have to shake my head in disappointment. And as for 'it's up to the owners to draw in the crowds' it beggars belief. Latics mad? I don't think so - I suggest that you change your name to 'Glory Hunter or Fairweather fan' much more appropriate I think
  6. Don't underestimate the man - he is a highly intelligent buffoon
  7. He will be in the squad and will get on ahead of O'Grady. Good to have strength in depth.
  8. We have had two home games - the atmosphere was excellent against Millwall and less so yesterday. It will improve as we extend our lead at the top and the larger supported teams come to BP as well.
  9. Neil Eardley is 19 years old and still learning his trade - I think he will be a good 'un but possibly better in midfield. He'll do for me
  10. The bit that makes me laugh is the line about previous comments 'I will still stand by them should a consistent dip in form return.' A few years ago, I said the exact thing about Ronaldo - and if he suffers a dip in form then I will stand by those comments too!
  11. So I go into a garage to test drive a 20k car - I know that I only have 10k to spend but I don't bother to discuss this with the salesman. Naturally I love the car and want to take it - but the salesman will not come down to my 10k limit. WHo's time have I wasted? If I had discussed the price beforehand and realised that the car was going to be out of my price range perhaps I would have chosen to test drive a cheaper car...
  12. By not clarifying the amount that the lad would cost us - duuuh!
  13. I think a valid point is raised here - Latics have been naive if they did not raise up front the matter of what percentage of Demar Phillips wages Stoke wanted us to pay. Yes Sheridan still wants the lad at BP and so do most of us on the board - but hopes have been raised and a player potentially misled. So 'complete load of tosh' no I don't think so. 'Little or no business dealings' again I don't agree with that comment either - if you conduct your business deals the way latics have gone about this deal then Ithink your career is on a road to nowhere.
  14. Taylor has a great touch, deceptive pace and can only get better - he is a class player and was a handful for Millwall today. Alessandra is another who is only going to get better and better - he looked stronger than last season and his touch is also top. One for the Millwall team - I liked the look of the tall centre back Whitbread (even though he gave away that free kick...).
  15. I sat in the main stand - both the Chaddy and RRE were loud at times but Millwall had more to sing about until the subsitutions changed the game. The atmosphere in the ground was good today and if we can get the balance of the team right, then home games will be great fun.
  16. They played it and it was mint - will get the whole ground rocking I'm certain of that - tune
  17. I live a mere 198 miles away - travelling up today with a pal for the game - full of expectation and a little trepidation too - you blues!
  18. Crossley but Fleming will take over this season
  19. Applause or silence - it's a magnificent gesture - well done
