  1. AAAAAAAAAAARGHH! I didn't know that because I haven't been to OT since we last played there - I will need to find another tune
  2. I think he is getting better each game - now just need to sort out that distribution Neal...
  3. We did - capacity at the moment is about 10,500 as opposed to 13,600 as was. Bottom line is what is the weather forecast for Satdee and what time does Manure kick off?
  4. It is a point worth debating though - Jones looks like a decent left back with bags of potential - his attacking play does give us something that we simply did not get with Lomax. If he leaves after a month or three we are worse off and morale could be affected. As for Ormerod - if he does well, I can only see him returning to Preston and hey presto we are worse off too... Glass half empty? Nah - I drained it ages ago
  5. Cannot understand the signing myself unless we have got him without having to pay any part of his wages. We are the top scorers in the league - we have five (at least) strikers and Davies is coming in to a bit of form - I hope that he starts and bags a couple on Saturday but I can't help being a tad mystified at this one. What about another midfielder - we don't seem to have much cover if Maher is the only one on the bench. Expect to see oneor two going out on loan maybe.
  6. Leicester have sold 2,200 so far - so let's assume that they sell out (2,700). latics had 5,100 on Sunday - so let's assume that we get an extra 900 or so - that makes 8700 on Saturday - in a three sided ground should be noisy As for the reserves - a good team with 7 or 8 who can be considered first team potential. As for Manure - this is their squad: United (probable line-up): Foster; Gray, Eckersley, Wootton, Gill; Derbyshire, Cleverley, Hewson, James, Stewart; Macheda. Subs from: Bryan, Zieler, Eikrem, Norwood, Strickland. Young kids in the main - I like the sound of Cleverley - intelligent player
  7. Interviewer 'So sir Roger, why are you a hypochondriac?' Sir Roger 'Because I'm ill' Classic
  8. Thought that he played quite well - skinned by Johnson for the goal but generally a good performance - I would tell him not to dive in so often - a decent player will anticipate and get past him too easily
  9. Love to see Wolfie on the bench on Sunday - then come on for a cameo role when we are four up
  10. So just to clarify - is this one pub, two pubs or three pubs - or is it just the same pub divided into three or...?
  11. The real issue for me is that irrespective of the fact that the latics fans had gone into a home end - they should not have been so viciously attacked. Also - we all knew that a number of Oldham fans would be in the Cheadle End - why were the police not better prepared?
  12. What about that lad at Preston? Trotman I think he is called - he is not really catching the first team and would benefit from a few games in a lower league.
  13. Sounds like the recipe for a happy marriage
  14. I have heard that Wolfy has beefed up considerably - let's see the man in action Shez!
  15. Just thinking the other day how it would be good if the missus was as big a fan as I was and we could travel to the games together - then I thought maybe not... Anyone on this board travel with your partner to games - is it doubly as bad when we lose or twice as good when we win?
  16. Stam and Hazell for me - I wonder if Byrne can play right back...?
  17. Totally agree - but if we do lose the next two then I will officially hit the panic button
  18. I say sit tight and wait... and hope
  19. They don't look any better - poor poor marking - just not tight enough - aaargh!
  20. If this is wrong - and I hope it is - then whoever started this 'rumour' should be banned for life from this board -
  21. The title was confusing but the points made were fair I think. The Eardley pass to Liddell was sublime - that shows what he can do. I rate Eardley and would always play him. Davies on the wing? Not for me - he is one who just seems to make the wrong choice too often - shoots when he should pass and vice versa. He should be played up front with Hughes. Gregan - banned for three games so won't be back until Leicester at home - clash of the top two?
  22. Eardley is 19 years old. He is a decent footballer who will improve - for me he has two areas that need working on: His distribution - still gives the ball away too often His positional sense - often loses his winger For me his true position is midfield - he is fast, strong in the tackle and has a decent shot on him. Friday's game was crying out for some of that in the centre of the park. I would continue the experiment from last season - he wasn't half bad in midfield was he?
  23. Eardley is destined to play midfield - I suggest that should have happened last night - it would have given us more drive and attacking options - nuff said
