  1. I thought that too - if it was a game they drew then the other two points should have gone to the opposition. Now what was the result when we played them at home?
  2. I agree about the board but not the humble pie
  3. No assumptions made @BP1960… it’s just the words: “he got it wrong from the off” seem a tad harsh in my opinion. I saw it as him sticking with the team that won last time out and then making a tactical decision (that paid off) at halftime
  4. Wow ‘shakes head in disbelief’ Give the man some credit for chrissakes!
  5. I believe that fans have every right to show their disapproval @BP1960- you do qualify it by saying “if they think results and performances are abysmal.” So, fickle or justified? I’d say the latter. Do fans know better @Flemboy? Not always, but another abysmal showing like the Gateshead first half is simply not acceptable. I agree that fans are the lifeblood of any club and I hope that the 1200 who make the journey today see the team put in a performance to reward them for incredible loyalty shown.
  6. Unsworth is a very inexperienced manager for this level. That in itself is okay as long as he is learning and there is progress in each aspect of his job. It is fair to say that there has been some improvement in results this year. However performances in general have been patchy at best and the style of play grueling to watch. A progress of sorts, possibly... Off the pitch, one area where I would like to see some progression, is in his post match interviews. Sometimes Dave you just have to tell it like it is. The performance on and off the pitch at Gateshead was, for the main part, shockingly poor. The defending for the first goal encapsulates all that is wrong with the team's approach at the moment. If Unsworth had called the team out, without naming individuals, and also held his hands up regarding his tactics, then he might get some leeway from the fans. I know it is difficult to strike the right balance in front of the cameras but he must not take us fans for fools. If he continues to spout the same old drivel week in week out, and the poor play continues, he will risk losing the support of even the most loyal fans(*). * There will be around 1200 from Oldham at Chesterfield this coming Saturday - if we put in a performance like Tuesday's then it could be a rough ride for the team and management.
  7. It will be interesting to hear his ‘take’ on tonight’s horror show
  8. After the Gateshead away game this evening, in our next eight games we play: Chesterfield (4th) Barnet (5th) Borehamwood (9th) Woking (3rd) Eastleigh (8th) Dagenham (11th) Solihull (12th) Wealdstone (10th) If we manage a similar run against that lot, then I'll start believing
  9. I do wonder if it is just us making the opposition look better. The lad Conteh for Gateshead looked a very good player for instance...
  10. I was at the game on Saturday with three others. It was a common view amongst the four of us that Nuttall could do so much more. He appears to coast through games and his work rate and overall effort could be much better. I am somewhat baffled by Unsworth's remarks but he is the 'football professional' and we are merely fans... so what do we know?
  11. There were over 6,000 Latics’ fans there today which is an incredible turnout at this level and even more so given the poor football on show. As others have said, if this continues there will be a further dropping off in enthusiasm and support - put simply, the players are not giving much back to the fans to help generate an atmosphere - it was a boring victory today.
  12. Neil Warnock assisted by Ronnie Jepson are the new management team at Huddersfield
  13. Unfortunately neither are realistic targets… Matt Gray, born in London and spent his whole life south of Watford - managing Sutton United and would probably only move to a southern based club Simon Weaver, has been at Harrogate for yonks (since 2009) and his dad is chairman…
  14. Peter Wild would have been perfect for us THIS season - he had managed Halifax to a fourth place final position and knew the standard of the league and the good players- it was unfortunate that the takeover hadn’t gone through earlier.
  15. This is a real worry for me too. I accept that there were a number of free tickets handed out yesterday but close to 7,000 home fans is an incredible turnout given where we are in the league and the football that is on show. The ‘feel good factor’ at the club is in danger of being eroded away. I commend the owners for resurrecting the club but it would be a huge shame if this erosion is allowed to happen because they cannot see what is going on.
  16. I would love to interview Unsworth post match… none of this tiptoeing around politely requesting ‘thoughts’ on the game - I’d simply ask him whether he has finally accepted that he’s not cut out to be a manager - love to hear his ‘thoughts’ on that one
  17. Unbelievable… let’s not drop to this level again. fer chrissakes
  18. Thanks for clearing that one up @Dave_Og
  19. Halifax drew 2-2 away at Harrow Borough yesterday- FA Trophy- went through on penalties.
  20. Wrexham make great use of the Tozer long throw - I wonder why we never use Couto in this way when he comes on as sub?
  21. Of the starting eleven on Saturday… here before Unsworth: Norman, Clarke, Hogan, Sheron, Tollit, Fondop - SIX new signings after Unsworth: Yarney, Kitching, Nuttall, Shelton - FOUR on loan: Chapman
