  1. I thought as much - so I don't see the reason for pointing that out... Unless I missed a bit of irony?
  2. I got one - she probably just mined the OAFC facebook site for potential "friends"...
  3. Nobody seems to complain when "happy clappers" repeat the same shiite. Interesting... The problem with being a (sympathetic) realist is that it's harder to say "I told you so" when it all goes wrong.
  4. I dunno, some of our fans' comments provide some entertainment value, don't they? I think they use the term "train wreck" in the US...
  5. I remember it being said too. It was suggested that we should have continually "just missed out" on promotion to the top flight. That way, the wages don't go up, the optimism is always there etc. etc. But it was a stupid strategy that lacks ambition - a bit like building a stadium that can't cope with a decent attendance.... Oh.
  6. "Went to mow a meadow"... "2 men and his dog"... etc. etc., ad nauseum.
  7. Does pissing on the doors of ManUre's Cliff training ground in Salford count?
  8. ...you booked you and your girlfriend's holiday around a pre-season tour of southern Ireland! ...unless you've given the heaviest Latics (and Oldham rugby) fan ever, Jeff, a lift from Waterford's crystal factory to his hotel on said pre-season tour because Alan Hardy didnt come back to pick him up...
  9. You're not proper Oldham unless the Barlows coach you went on that day at Norwich had a blow out on the way back and you sang "going down" as the tyre deflated and then had to sit in the aisle of another coach all the way back home!
  10. I was there too. Saw the fighting between Warrington (I think?) and Wigan fans near the boozers as well (it surprised me that). I went to nearly every match in that cup run - some good booze ups at Salford etc with no trouble - and a few league matches as well. Fell out with Oldham Rugby when I noticed a lot of their fans were ManUre fans too...
  11. For some reason that reminded me of the "Space Invader" game that me and Mr. Andyb100 off here bought. It was handheld and basically it was red LCD "dash" firing "dots" at other LCD "dots" (the space invaders)! I think there may have been a dash (spaceship) going across the top occasionally too. If you "clocked the score" > 99, the score went weird! Classic piece of crap. Anyone else remember it? Probably came out 1980/81?
  12. Sorry mate that sacrilege! Did you sing "We can play on carpet as well" at 'away' matches?!?
  13. Creases in the pitch - you don't get that on Xbox, eh? Same here for "Home and Away" matches! One of my mates pinned his pitch to a piece of hardboard instead of playing on the carpet... Me and the others weren't happy about it! It was a definite abuse of home advantage...
  14. Subbuteo! Now you're talking! "The young people of today have no idea blah blah blah..." We used to have tournaments and everything. Mind you, those floodlights I bought were a waste of time... My mate got "Striker" and thought he was the dogs ... but I think subbuteo outlived that http://www.peter-upton.co.uk/striker.htm
  15. Yes, that must have been one of the first as the film (Downfall) was made in 2004. It also made it into the "Top 25" (how many are there??) in an article about the videos in the Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news...h-watching.html "The parodies are so ubiquitous on YouTube that they have even spawned self-referential meta-parodies" you don't see that kind of writing in the Chron!
  16. Yep, it was done for Owen scoring for ManUre against City: once again we're copying the Mancs...
  17. Lol. Not surprised at all - there was some right useless to$$ers on there on Saturday coming out of the woodwork to jinx our winning streak...
  18. 2-3 years? Where are people gonna fight after the Masters tournament? At the bus stops, taxi ranks?
  19. Fair enough mate. Like someone else said, the payments they made are "common practice" in certain countries and it appears strange that the SFO is going after them. (Can't imagine that happening in the US). But there's history here and the last time the SFO got close to a conviction the govt. intervened to shut the case down. Prob a bit more than you wanted to know but my general point is BAE are a rich and powerful company.
  20. Is that a joke? Sorry mate but seriously BAE are the 3rd biggest defence company on the planet. They're not going to knock down the price of the Lancy Club cos of that... In any case, here's what will happen (again) Man from UK Govt: "Those bribes, I mean, business transactions were in the national security interests." Case closed or BAE do deal with Serious Farce Office (© Private Eye) and give them a few grand to keep them sweet.
