  1. Me too. In fact some "former OWTB members" predicted it...
  2. Exactly - the big "if" in a nutshell. I think about it sometimes and wonder what would've happened. First it would have been one of the best post-match celebrations ever...
  3. I got excited when that web page was opening cos the heading was "PROPOSED STADIUM RELOCATION" but then it turns out it's still in Failsworth... Oh well, maybe next time....
  4. One of TTA was on a TV show called "Fox Football Phone-In" last year - that might have done it? No offence to the OP but there are a lot of sad "sawker" fans in the US who are desperate to cling on to or attach themselves to some kind of connection to a "European"/English football club. Some of their reasons defy logic but ho-hum... They can't have the ancient excuse "my dad took me to Old Trafford/Maine Road" of our Oldham-based Manc team supporting 'friends' and family but I assume most of them look at the top of the Prem and pick one from 4.
  5. In a word "no". If anyone believes otherwise show me where to get them cos I'm fked if I know...
  6. Brilliant! This thread has the makings of being the best of the year/season. Anyone else have similar dealings with ex-Latics players?
  7. Did anyone else think this was a new scheme to bring back fans to BP?
  8. That was in April (4th I think), which is supposed to be spring not winter. Lol. I was sat in Ford Stand for the Blackburn defeat with all the B*st**d Rovers fans. We had season tickets with seats near the away fans... My mate's uncle's idea... Doh. Every home match was interesting, especially when Newcastle came to BP (no wonder I hate the Geordie t**ts)
  9. Me too - and normally (for the last 8 years) I would have been gutted if I came over at Xmas and New Year and not got in at least 2 matches... Crewe away was great last Boxing Day and Hudders away in New Year as well so don't start telling me Ronnie Moore was right about us living in the Prem past. Edit: I started supporting, well going to, Latics in 1977. I just read the post suggesting that the disillusioned fans may be the ones who started following us in the late 80s / early 90s
  10. I'm planning on coming from America to attend the Boxing Day match at BP. Should I still come to the match or is there a risk that I will be "banned from the ground" as well? PS Not ar$ed about doing the half time draw but a couple of complimentaries will do nicely...
  11. 100% agree... ...unless the Oldhamer in question happened to be in a Greek island night club during the height of the "Madchester" movement and pretending to be from Manchester increased his chance of getting off with some seriously hot totty...
  12. PMSL! Anyone who says you don't have a sense of humour needs their eyes testing. Brilliant.
  13. That's fantastique! Are they going to put some stock on the shelves as well? I went in there in the summer to get a Latics t-shirt for a "fan" over here and there was hardly (Hardy?) anything worth buying. Shocking lack of ambition!
  14. I knew I'd "hook" you with that one! Lol. Anyway, my happy-clapper friend we'll soon be in the *Chaddy/RRE/Main Stand() singing "Dave Penney's Blue & White Army"! * Delete as a applicable. What do you reckon? We'd better get our tickets soon, it's gonna be a sell out like when we murdered Wolves (or was it Port Vale? lol) on Boxing Day years ago, Andy Ritchie hat-trick and loads of regulars (non-STHs) locked out.... Those were the days, blah, blah blah.
  15. I wouldn't miss it. Edit: I forgot that smiley thingy at the end. Another pointless poll... <sigh>
  16. Good point about the Bosman. It made me think, though, why we have a transfer window? IIRC the Bosman rule was introduced to allow players to move more freely - the transfer window contradicts that, doesn't it?
  17. PMSL! Good spot Lee! I think the whole original post was a "fishing" one
