  1. Its also the football league rules that they can't warm up in the goal mouth and if i remember correctly theres a poster in each dressing room making them aware of this.
  2. When the attendances started dropping last season I put it down to 4 things. 1. The :censored:e negative tactics that Penney played was the biggest factor why so many people didn't turn up week after week. 2. £20 quid to watch 3rd division football is way too much I know most clubs are there or there about in this league but when you compare to other leagues around europe you can usually get into 2nd divisions games for less than a tenner. 3. We play in a :censored:hole and its only getting worse. All 3 stands are poor and yes I include the RRE in that, plus the embarrasing tv gantry, burnt out 'box' and the silent PA system. 4. Untill we get some investment or move and we can increase our budget we basically have no hope of getting out of this :censored: division and are gonna be stuck constantly in mid table with the occasional flirtation with a relegation scrap. I put number 1 down as to why we have lost so many fans in the last 18 months or so but the other 3 reasons are why people are not returning. number 1 has been addressed and we now have a manger who is trying to turn things around but with a reduced budget and one that will continue to get smaller season after season untill we move at least then we can't expect too much from him. Hopefully we will get some news soon on Failsworth and things might start to look a bit brighter off the pitch, but untill then im not holding my breath. And untill then we will keep seeing crowds of 3500- 4000 maybe touching 5000 against hudders, dippers and dale.
  3. Lourenco was quality and scored one of the best goals to ever grace the pitch at bp. I always thought it was a mistake to let him go before his loan ran out. Thats 8 years ago now so I assume he is talking about Fabio's amazing 20 minute cameo under Joe at Cheltenham. He received the ball about 7 or 8 times and was comfotably tackled by the full back he was up against everytime bar one when he tried a stepover got the ball stuck under his feet, fell over and the ball trickled out for a throw in. Must be said though, he did it with real flair.
  4. fc scum would be good as it would be nice to thrash them so I can give a fellow worker some stick and probably make a quid or two out of it. Plus it would be nice to beat them before they fold.
  5. I think we had 3300 there even though we had sold 2700/2800 of the 3200 we were given. work than one out, I couldn't when I read the programme the week after.
  6. I think the home fans have to buy a ticket aswell, they did on tuesday so would think they will have to against us.
  7. Yep heard the same. Also heard he has looked class aswell in training!!!
  8. Definitly been poor since he signed his contract as i've said before. I personally would drop him and see if we get a good reaction to it as we know on form he is class at this level.
  9. More of a mental one in my opinion. We lack a leader on the pitch who is willing to take control. We were comfy but to many players are making silly mistakes and its costing us at the minute. The goal came from us not keeping the ball and then giving a stupid free kick away which was smashed against one of our players and went out for the corner from which they scored.
  10. I'd like them to get promoted but I find it hard to take an interest whilst hamilton is there. I know a few people who have had dealings with him and they all confirm he is the kn*b that he seems to be when moaning all the time in the chron.
  11. Most of the team were poor. Tounkare was quality, shame he had to hold the ball up for 30 seconds every time he got due to no support from midfield. Stephens is suffering from Rubens syndrome ( new contact and poor since ) M'voto looks better now he seems to be settling in. Great substiutions from Dickov and Lewis was superb when he came on seeing as itshis 1st game back and he seems to balance the team out. Black had an awful 1st half but fair play to him he kept going and in the end set up the goal for 2nd i think. All in all i'll definitly take that all day long we look much fitter aswell. Oh and to the c**** who was booing Brill after the goal what a bunch of pricks.

  14. Im talking about the previous 18 months when refering to Taylor.
  15. I thought we were very unlucky not to win today. The 1st 20 mins were very poor, no tempo passing was shocking and errors from everyone and the goal was a result of bad defending alround even if it was a nice finnish. But once Stephens tried his luck with the free kick everyone seemed to be lifted and then we played like we did in the first 4 games of the season. I think my 2 main areas of concern are the centre backs and strikers and we're not being helped by suspension, injuries or international call ups. No partnerships are being developed at the minute because for one reason or another were having to change personel and its definitly not helping. Overall though I was delighted with the effort and way we played, especially the 2nd half. I thought Tounkare was awesome apart from fluffing his 2 chances. Kelly huffed and puffed and did ok but untill he finds his feet in profesional football he's not going to offer to much in the way of goals. For the 1st time in a couple of years we had 2 wingers on the pitch and I loved the way Dikaba had one foot on the sideline at all times! Thats what a winger should do and the return to form of Taylor was an added bonus. He took his goal very well and as soon as it went in all his confidence he lost under Shez and Penney seemed to return in a hurry. Stephens manage to controll the game today unlike the last 2 and he was aloud to play 10 yards further forward as Jarret was starting the play from the back. Furman ran his B*llocks of as usual. The defence looked very shakey and Black got beat a few times by there winger. M'voto jsut needs to learn to be more decisive when it comes to commiting himself as he nearly got cought out a few times by being unsure what to do, but that will come with experience. I do beleive next week we have to have Hazzell back in as the posh's front 3 may give the defence we had today a bit of a lesson. After seeing all the games so far I think we can all see were moving in the right direction and that we will never be out battled, but there are definitly some areas that need a lot of work still. Oh and my god do I hope Bristol go down. We were embarrasing last year but at least we didn't resort to making the keeper pretend he had cramp to waste time that was pathetic to put it nicely.
  16. He looked good in pre season and seemed to have toughened up over the summer. Infact up untill Eaves' performance against Bolton I would of said Brooke looked twice the player Tom was.
  17. Dissapointing tonight not because we're out, but the fringe players like Smalley, Taylor and Kelly had a chance to stake a claim to start on Saturday but no one performed. Smalley can only play the potential card for so long before we have to accept he won't make it at this level. Taylor needs to remember he is a winger and stay out wide. I've never been a fan of Taylor playing on the right but maybe its worth giving it a go? He clearly isn't comfy on the left at the moment so something needs to change. To be fair to Kelly he tried but nothing came of for him and the lack of service won't of helped either but I don't think he is suited to play with DJ as they both have similar styles as they both go looking for the ball so more often than not they can be a bit of a distance apart or they have made the same run. The team as a whole look like they have lost that little spark in the last 2 games in my opinion the absence of JJ at the back has made us resort to hoof ball a bit more than I would like to see, as tonight apart from rubes who's ok on the ball the 2 centre halves are not really good with the ball at their feet. But hopefully he will be back sat and we see us playing it out from the back which allows Stephens and Furman to be a little further up the pitch rather than having to drop deep to take the ball of the defence. The last 2 games have definitly given Dickov a lot to think about.
  18. Well there was a combined 4600 empty spaces in the RRE and Chaddy and easy to see aswel,l so im guessing there was easily a few hundred seats not taken in the main stand. 4900 with 150-200 from yeovil
  19. I'm guessing they see Hughes as a player who scored goals no matter what who also loved to put it about and play up to his 'bad boy' tag. Whereas Pav started well but could hardly buy a goal after xmas and despite poor service did miss a hell of a lot of easy chances. he also didn't run around as much as some would like, also doesn't help him shake of the lazy tag when he was constantly out of breath after 20 mins (was again yesterday) But most importantly Pav will always be linked to Penney by many of our fans and it was by far the most boring and useless football we have seen in a very long time. Thats my guess anyway.
  20. He appeared give a little wave when they were celebrating in front of us. Nothing too malicious if you ask me but a clear attempt to get his point accross that he was happy too move on from us, as i am equally as glad he has aswell as he in no way, shape or form, would fit in with our current style of play.
  21. What a difference 10 months make. Walking back after the game the same as I did last year when I couldn't believe the negativity of what I had seen and Charlton fans were saying how they had never seen a team come with a play as defensively as we did, to yesterday when we had them saying we deserved to win was a remarkable turnaround. It shows that whilst some of the s*** we had last season (and some of it still remains, if only for a matter of time) that we had the abillity to at least play some decent stuff. Stephens and Furman are the heartbeat of this team and their ability to run the middle allows players to get forward and create chances. Stephens is the player who stands out with the natural ability but I think Furman has been the key man, his energy to be everywhere at any given time gives the opposition no time on the ball at all and so far no team has been able to have us on the backfoot for more than 5 minutes or so. Maybe those Bradford and Rangers fans were onto something when praising him? We have looked superb at times. Don't get me wrong we still have our moments like their goal and Abbott being free 8 yards from goal, fortunatly the Pav of January onwards was playing and tried a fancy flick instead of going for goal himself, but overall there have been only a few moments like that. Overall play football like we have and we won't be far off this season. So Dickov and his team have done the 1st part, lets see (and hope) they can get the next part right and find the consistency to keep it up!
  22. Thats a blow if Lewis is out for that time especially as we have finally found a position for him aswell. As for Taylor its gonna take time for him to get back up to speed after a season of mis-mangement of his injuries (wouldn't do any harm for him to toughen up a bit though) and missing a big part of pre-season.
  23. They were struggling to handle him today. Doherty is a big lad but couldn't compete with him for strength and was very unlucky with the effort their keeper saved and then bounced and hit the post. He seemed to get cramp towards the end which says he still a way off full fitness which is encouriging because there could be a lot more to come.
  24. He smashed the ball at Parkinson (good effort aswell, could teach Pav a thing or two with accuracy like that) after their bench all jumped up and was basically begging the ref to send him off, for what seemed like two players colliding of the ball. Silly thing to do but you can understand his frustration. Loved it as soon as there bench started chasing him Dickov, Taggart, Gerrard and Dux were straight after their bench. No contest who the winner would be there.
