  1. Lids bench (of usual X11) and Eards on right of three ... give Taylor a freer role and perhaps give "not so :censored:e" a rest for Maher who deserves a craic Lewi has to play
  2. I've been crying out for that away for ages ... and against the big sides - untill we got the game by the scruff of the neck leicester were overunning us so bad in centre mid it was almost like danny wasnt there We tried this formation at Burnley with O'Grady and not Hughesy and it blatently dint work ... O'Grady looked to be marooned up there alone but they were a good side with a strong defence and he obv. aint Hughesy either !!! If danny is told his role in the 3 then im certain it will work ... we can then boss games from midfield and release Tayor and an other to open teams up
  3. OK .... I HATE (and i mean HATE) RITCHIE WELLENS .... BUT is this debate for real ??? Wellens only bad attribute is his attitude and money grabbing personality ... almost always our best man AND we played Donny 5 times last season and he was IMMENSE each match running the show ... esp. when dropping deep in the 2nd half Danny is a technically gifted player BUT at league 1/league 2 level - not even close to wellens who can win football matches on his own, I'd even prefer Ritchie footballing wise to Kilkenny 'cos of his gritty side that he adds. Danny will maybe score more goals BUT cannot win a match by takin in by the scruff of the neck like Wellens consistantly did both for us, Donny and probably at B'Pool as well given their attitude towards the SCUMBAG Hope I'm wrong as Danny is a class pro and will never do a Wellens/Porter
  4. CLEAR HANDBALL ..... stupid from Hughesy - u cud see wot he was about to do about 5yds b4 he punched it
  5. Based on what? He's done a job when asked to help us hold a lead BUT aint looked anywhere near as dangerous as we knw Craig Davies can be and was at times on Sat (and the odd moment against Stockport). He's always a threat and despite having the vision of Stevie Wonder is a better player to have in reserve than O'Grady
  6. Wolfy surely BUT got that horrific feeling it could be Lewis with Shez lookin to get him some confidence in front of goal ... barring the dry spell he has been superb all season
  7. I like the warney comparison .... Hughes being supplied by a support srtiker ... take note craig lad
  8. LOL. yes m8 ... doh!! on me he had 13 or so at Swansea i think in around Feb/March ... just don't think he looks the player that got that many in early 07/08 - just take the 2nd half against Accrington for instance, with the determination and commitment he showed there (won 2nd half on own) he should be a HUGE threat alongside Hughes BUT despite the potential of the partnership, he simply aint looked the same player since Hughes took the ball off him at Bournmouth last year for the pen .... im certain there is an EGO issue there, he seems to sulk a lot more for sure (altho some one did point out that he was the player who clapped Hughes the most when subbed)
  9. 1st thing strikes u is ... WHY look to strengthen up top given the numbers we have Altho like peeps hav said w/o hughes 1 goal ... and despite having 3-genuine threats in midfield and are have fired 24 already we need 2 strikers threatening 20goals if we are to reach automatic promotion .... Hughes - if fit gets 20-25 easy Davies - never gona be a 20goal man BUT will chip in if he gets his confidence back Lewi - despite his superb link-up play he doesn't look a REAL goal threat O'Grady - 11goals in league2 says he isn't a goalscorer - nothing has changed my mind So this goes a long way to explainig the signing. If Omerod still has that pace, he is a goal-getter and should strengthen the team for sure - hopefully help to bring on Lewi and sort out Davies' attitude tho is aint gona improve his confidence !! Well Played Shez
  10. dirty leeds scum, dirty leeds scum, whoa whoa only one more game w/o el capitano and we'll be back on track Cmon Hudds and L.Orient
  11. I'm sorry but WTF ??? Lomax is consistent at being an average performer ... Eardley b4 tonight has been our star defender since the tranmere match where only a Greegs masterclass stopped him being MOM Neil Eardley is TWICE the player Lomax could ever wish to become and is 2 years younger ... Yes perhaps he is suited more to a 3-5-2 formation or a midfield berth BUT how any Latics fan, and there seems to be a lot of u around with this same view, can prefer Kelvin to Eardley is beyond me Onwards and Upwards Boyz OH WHEN THE BLUES !!!!
  12. the first was well worked by there classy left winger BUT how we twice let them win a near post flick on and the ball was allowed to fall to the deck was appaling .... BAD DEFENDING Eards left the ball for their 3rd which was a nice finish Gregan is the difference between promotion and mid table i'm afraid
  13. adds height natural left foot good delivery pacey overlaps Chrissy something Kelv for all i like him doesnt do more to come
  14. attitude stinks .... i can accept the miss at 2-1 cos thats who he is BUT he needs to find the attitude pre-Hughes ... he has the ability now COME ON
  15. get the kid on right midfield instead of off-the-pace Lids .... just can't afford passengers more help for allott in a midfield that with two wingers is getting overrun DAVIES - sort ureself out or >>MODERATED<<
  16. I like the Eardley in the middle one if Danny is ruled out tho doubt it'll happen ... maher will play in that case tho him and "alright allott" are way too alike ... if Danny is fit it'll be >>> (imo) Crossley Eardley Reubs Stammy Bryne Lids Allott Whittaker Taylor Hughes O'Grady
  17. Kelvin has been terrific for us in a problem position ever sicne his 10 game stint at Spotland HOWEVER I get quite concerned about people's judgement when he his favourably compared to Eardley, or even those who consistently say there is nothing between the players. One is a decent mid-table league one FB who would do an excellent job for a league two side ... he is steady but nothing else and can't cross for toffee. The other has potential to be a top half championship FB or midfielder and is two years younger, a full international and technically far far superior ALBEIT beginning the season with a seeming lack of confidence.
  18. Dale looks gr8 every time he plays in reserves for first half then tires badly ... however w/o danny surely like for like is Stephens and not Maher who has also had zero playing time, but Shez will defo pick Maher if Danny is ruled out.
  19. So true ... he was never the sharpest turner off the mark Davies and Hughes tho that is harsh on O'Grady Bryne in for Lomax Personally I would play Deano on the right I think the poster was suggesting putting Stephens on the bench not replacing Danny/ex-RAT
  20. I'd defo give lewi a rest Smalley shud get a few games as well ... he is a threat wen playing badly even cos of his pace - it shud one of taylor 3 markers away It's scary to me that Taylor has been our best player last two games despite the double/triple teaming
  21. cmon SCOTTY they'll be in confident mood after win on friday nite
  22. Crossley was at fault for #2 obv. which IMO was worse than the 3rd against Millwall, BUT for the the first Hughesy easily lost his man who planted a terrific diving header past Crossley ... he has reacted superbly for most of the season and last season on efforts at point blank range, to blame him on this one his pathetic, given his shot stopping has been terrific for us throughout. Temple deserves RESPECT now give it him
  23. Disagree ... Although he shows huge potential 'n' is technically as good as anyone in club barring Lewi from wot I've seen ... albeit looks a little slow off the mark at times and has struggled to maintain first half sharpness in every match I've seen him - won't make first team consistently till next year at earliest IMHO -- But an awesome spot from the club
