  1. our out ball from centre half is so often to the right back because eardley when playing always demands it .... so to say that our right backs distribution isn't important is baffling - Eardley is far better at everything than Lomax barring Lomax's pace ... and those that say Lomax is better defensively look at wot shez says about Lomax's weakness !!! Eardley was lambasted by fans left right and centre for his distribution and Lomax's is 10times worse and no-one complains at all b/c he's a "young lad" yet 2yrs eardley's senior !!!! Get Eardley back in NOW !!!!
  2. Lol. tht shud be a 3rd eye ....haha - BRILLIANT !!!
  3. £1.5m minimum plus the add-ons unfortunately they'll hav to sell at that ... we've got 2x £500k less from last year - trotter and everton AND the lower crowds - bigger wage bill - credit crunch although they need promotion to allow the dream of the new development ... and Taylor if promoted and continues form is worth £3m in summer so surely worth TTA taking the risk - just need an unrealistic offer for Smalley and we're in clover
  4. aye Carlisle away are in relegation form as usual ... crewe we usually do well and look woeful this term posh is gona be very tricky - BIG BIG game tho Brighton tougher than it looks I'd say - and Leyton Orient shud be 3 points which means a 2-0 loss we shud be looking at minimum 10points I reckon we could actually win all 5
  5. dnt disagree a sub was needed .... but why was it maher as opposed to allott
  6. yep but we are only playing 2 of the top half in nxt 8 over xmas and early new year ... and we're 18th in that league for a reason unfortunately - shud be taking 18points minimum from those 8games .... be lucky to get 12 knowing latics should be TOP by late Jan
  7. I was saying that the partnership looked alright ... thought w/o the outlet to Ricketts ... M+A controlled much of the centre midfield battle - though that was down to Maher having a superb 60mins - and hence why i said the personel of the sub for Danny was all wrong, but we all know about Shez and wanting 9 Allott's so he's hardly gonna take the boy off is he !!!!
  8. 1st of all Hughes and Lewi worked very well together for much of the early part of the season 2nd ... Big man Omerod and Byfield ??? confused me here ... I think Shez wants Hughes to be in the box more, like for the winner last nite cos he's the most natural finisher we've had in years and years and doesnt need to be looking to hold it up as well as running the channels and popping up in the box ... COG had glue on his boots last nite - and although we all know he's gonna struggle to even make 10goals a season his hold up brought willing runners Whittaker and Taylor past the gameline, which really changed the complextion of the game which was seemingly dying of death ... COG has to start against Brighton IMO .... deserves a chance personally and the Hughes COG partnership also shud be given a run Personally I'd play Whittaker as a narrow right mid ... give Lids a rest (he wont as he's getting 10days!!) and play Eards down the right from full back .... Maher and Allott looked okay for large parts of last nite, although i thought Shez got the personel of the sub wrong as Maher had his best BP hour for me.
  9. Between those two obv. we want to keep Chrissy T ... but Eards just aint gettin any credit wen doing things well but gets huge barrages of abuse wen he plays at all off colour - and then confidence is bound to slip away !! Do u seriously believe we are a better side, either defensively or passing/distributionally/going forward with Lomax at RB ???
  10. That comment justifies why people can't fathom the lomax ahead of eardley nonsense .... lomax wouldn't command a fee - Eardley shud be one of the first names on the teamsheet - we just don't play the same standard of footy wiv kelvin at RB - distribution is poor and eardley links well wiv Lids ... best quality footy this season IMO was 2nd half against Scunny and 2nd half vs. Tranmere - both times Eardley was key.
  11. I'll be up at St James' too ... visitin uni mates tho doubt i'll get them there as well - little too much to ask !!!
  12. never liked him at BP ... but he's a pure legend as a neutral in interviews these days !!!
  13. Fleming deserves a chance .... Crossley once again got away with blue murder 2nite - twice an inocuous free kick wasn't claimed 4yds from goal ... added to that the bizzarre non-catch when jonesy bailed him out Fleming must be cursing his agent and advisors (inc. paul murray LOL) as he could have gone to around 5 other clubs this summer
  14. perfectly agree .... Jones once again distinctly average - things gone pear-shaped since he cam in and played ok (ironically) at Stockport Fleming Earley Reubs Gregan Lomax Liddell Maher Whittaker Taylor Hughes Byfield for me on Sat
  15. 4-5-1 with three defensive midfielders, one of which didnt wana play there and who's mental state appears in tatters for weeks sums it up ..... Shez is at fault for Stephens Lee not behind on the field for either .... 1) He signed them ... they aren't the players he thought they were 2) He thinks 3 defensive like-for-like midfielders in a 4-5-1 is the correct tactical strategy against a truly abysmal, defensively frail as a 100yr old outfit 3) He thinks they aren't match-fit - he was part of the decision-making process for getting rid of the reserves Shez needs to improve his decision-making sharpish or he's out in the new year - I hope he gets till the summer 'cos can't see how changing a manager can help the team half way thru a season BUT he is off then unless we go up I'm sure
  16. Okay I will start by saying I think Lomax has been solid defensively for the season w/o any outstanding performances, and Neil aint pulled up any trees respective to his ability barring a few top displays around his 9/10 display at Tranmere. I believe Eardley to be 10x the player and potential player of Kelvin and that is meaning no disrespect to Lomax, add to that the age disparity between the two boys the difference in fans reactions is worrying as a fellow fan. Lomax's distribution was HORRIFIC all night and a lot worse than Eardley's has been at any stage this season. He doesn't demand the ball as much as Neil and when he does it is a floated high ball whether crossing or lumping it towards our 4ft strikers ... Eardley constantly demands the ball despite the so called supporters moans groans and boo's (at a 19yr i'll remind u all) and when given a chance to cross whips the ball in, sometimes it goes array, but that type of cross has more scoring potential. I'm not for a second wanting fans to boo our own players esp. those home grown talents, but no-one groaned or berated Kelvin 2nite on what was a shocking performance given the lack of defensive work required and number of array balls. When people will realise that booing one of our two main talents is not gonna build confidence and consequently an improvement in form, we may see one of the best prospects we've had in years reaching his potential !! The most amusing thing for me is that Eardley has seemingly suffered mainly from the £3million tabloid rumour in pre-season ... get behind the lads FFS or they have no chance !!
  17. Lots of depth in terms of numbers......though maybe not in quality.? We do and in the key underperforming areas Shez just aint using them - Stam+Thommo ... Lee, Maher + Stephens Is Danny Whitts good enough for a season? Consistantly in 442 no ... in a 352/433 yes can Allot perform the same again all year? no - maher was brought in for a dip in form but aint being utilised Who replaces Hughes when injured/lack of form? obv. noone at the club has aimilar attributes BUT Davies shud never be on loan-i know he's the opposite of einstein BUT we shudnt be allowing him to go so far off the rails Who replaces Gregan...ditto------------------ I love Capitano BUT stam and reubs have better GPG ratio If Crossley is too old...is Fleming better? Crossley aint too old BUT too many errors - i find him amusing BUT it is costing us at times - Fleming will be effective YES Davies is out of favour/lost the plot....whose his 14 goal replacement? Hughes gets 20+ instead of 13ish - Lewi will get 10+ and his link-up will mean Taylor more than trebles last season and Whits already has more than garyMAC For all of the criticisms of Liddle....is Dean Smalley REALLY better than him? not ATM ... but offers far greater threat at times - Lids does so much easy stuff very well ... but is just too static atm ..... play 352 - See Eardley at his best bombing up and down and Taylor on the left - Maher Allot and Whits in the middle and it gets rid of the problem right side We are top6 if Shez gets back to normal Shez and stops the seemingly panicky decisions that have hindered the club ever since they walked off the field at the monkey place 2up
  18. I just hope to god he doesn't go with Lomax as RWB .... i LOVE the 352 combo and think it would suit us where we are strong (quick wide men with stamina to burn) and helps us in our weak areas (CM) - it would reek of McClaren in Croatia 352 Shud be Fleming Reubs Gregan Stam Eardley Taylor Allott Maher Whittaker Lewi Smalley
  19. Crossley Reubs Gregan Stam Lomax Taylor Allott Whittaker Jones Lewi Deano Never in a million years is Reubs a better RB than Eards ... how we can make 3 changes again and there isn't some sort of centre midfield reshuffle is BIZZARE shez lad - Give Maher a run, Allott is due a rest and has not been at his best recently - I've lost count of the # of times we've been overrun in CM this last 2 months Come on lads - prove me wrong OH WHEN THE BLUES !!!!
  20. Unbelievably poor first half from the ref ... the time he blew for a foul by Reubs down the left side when Hooper had pushed him for 15yards summed it up It's hard to fathom how poor he was at times tho Hughesy's antics are funny - he will cause us problems if they continue

  22. I'd say the slickest side going forward I've seen BUT how they had the previous 2nd best defence is baffling - we tore them apart 2nd half
  23. Aye top2 were MOMs but 1to11 were fantastic Hughesy was SOO SOO dangerous last nite ... just can't quite worl out how he didnt score ?!?!?!? Lewi and Hughes are our best top2 by an absolute stretch ... the difference Lewi brought to the game even b4 the goal was fantastic and means Danny can focus on supporting the strikers instead of winning the ball once it's bounced back off them - I honestely think that is the reason we have looked overrun in the middle over the past few weeks. Controlled "out" balls to both strikers feet and we become an extemely dangerous unit again.
  24. Precisely ... how many goals hughes and taylor scored since lewi was axed ??? 1 He adds so much more than a goal threat and that will come as well He HAS to play 2nite
