  1. don't worry bout that ... if there was one player (2 i suppose wiv the ex-rat) that wouldn't ever ever even consider "Portering" Latics then that is our home-grown Blue Chrissy T We will defo get full whack for Taylor as and when i'm certain of that !!!
  2. Surely won't sell if we're around top3 if he keeps up not just the goals but his overall play till JAN and has around 10-12 goals then ... £1.5m minimum wouldn't sell for less than £2m - at least we've got his personal "I'm a blue thru and thru" bargaining !!!
  3. just hope we prove them wrong esp. Salako. top of the table and 3rd match on ... nice
  4. Got to be Bryne for me ... Stammy didn't look his old self in pre-season or against Burnley - losing Greegs is a big loss and will say a lot about our squad as we will lose the big players (Greegs, Hughes, Taylor) at times this season, and we need to continue picking up the points ... lets hope Hudds comeback on Sat wasn't a sign of things to come OH WHEN THE BLUES !!!!
  5. Superb result, barmy 7mins !! Few will win at Monkey town this year. How can anyone complain - we are one of 4 teams in the 3 divisions to be unbeaten - we've beaten teams occupying 3rd 4th 8th 11th places and drawn away with a couple of very good teams ... striker banging in the goals and our home grown goalscoring wide man ... best start for 18 years. Well done Shez
  6. all the chances Gregans typical cynical challenge 'n he's off
  7. it's looking good .... OH WHEN THE BLUES !!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE
  8. AYE it's frustrating ... although we'd have been embarrassed a lot last year with 7 subs !! (or 3/4 in out case ) Davies is definately not a better player than Lewi, although they are obviously completely different types of players. All Lewi needs is transfer the confidence and close control and tricks he uses when linking play to when he has a chance to run at players / shoot, then we have a SERIOUS talent here. He scored goals like that at youth team level BUT seems to lack the speed off the mark ... hopefully it will come cos an ever-improving lewi and hughesy fit will take us to the championship. Davies' attitude seemed better on Wednesday, tho unless shez went down to pitchside from the stands then he missed Davies' volley and a decent 2nd half performance ... reckon O'Grady will b on bench but Davies should be
  9. Carlisle win surely favours Latics ... Leeds have the squad that can easily gather the head of steam they had at start of 07/08 - best keeping the big boys at arms length for as long as possible as they're certain to be in the playoff shake-up at least come MAY Oh! and yes our match is of course the priority ... as long as the team aren't focusing on others results this early
  10. Lee looks very decent both at FB and CM, but aint been tested defensively really when i've seen him - looks a good option if injuries or lack of form for eardley or kelvin kicks in. Shame he missed pre-season as I think he's too classy a performer 2 not even be warming the bench PS. Bryne (as a Aberdeen fan mentioned) is more of a CB than LB based on yesterdays outing.
  11. Davies or O'Grady ??? Surprisingly after a decent 90min runout at Tranmere, Davies was left out of the 16 vs. the franchise. Now I understand that this is further evidence of out new squad depth, but as an option from the bench surely Davies is more of an impact player. I think that on Sat Shez was unsure how much of the match Hughesy would last and given the physical presence of their back 4, maybe he felt 30-45mins that O'Grady has more of the physical Hughesy attributes to take the weight off Lewi ??? Just a query really, cos that's how I read it. Both looked decent against Bury and took their respective goals excellently, especially Craig's volley !!
  12. Stephens best man first half - but faded badly 2nd half (like he did last time i saw ressies) maybe he's not got fitness to correct levels yet ?? Looks excellent on ball every time i've seen him and got an eye for a pass and a shot. Bryne looked ok at LB, BUT very very good at centre half when stammy was given a rest - decent addition to squad and gives strength at LB - he shouldn't replace Kelvin tho. Davies looked sparky at times and worked hard, esp. from 20mins onwards ... superb volley for goal. All in all a decent standard from both teams ... trialists not good enough tho.
  13. aye. defo gona go for a look ... starts at 2pm - looking forward 2 seeing Bryne and Davies' attitude after Saturdays dissapointment.
  14. Is this from Wiki ? A load of rubbish ???? Always thought he was pretty decent 'n obviously the natural alternative to signing Demar u'd think BUT i still wana know the true reason for Y phillips didn't join us.
  15. I don't rate him much at all BUT he was never gonna look good alongside a player of the Allott mould was he ?
  16. I just don't like the time wasting BUT of course openly criticising the players, especially the youngsters is delporable i agree, and it was the main reason I moved sides in the Main Stand paddock. I remember people complaing at Taylor and Smalley when we were 3-0 up against Huddersfield last term, Chrissy then when on a few mazy runs and scored a 4th !!!
  17. I hate them shielding it in the corner, it depresses me and I think it just can't go well when doing it with 5mins to go. If u look at the last 5 at Tranmere we passed it around and the keepball was slendid to watch and effective as the opposition not just tire but get frustrated and foul wasting more time.
  18. Good 2 hear some +ve comments bouts eardley. Yeah! He was class at Tranmere 'n' didn't get the plaudits cos of el capitano's MOM performance. His only fault defensively yesterday was getting caught misreading a diagnal ball again, but used his pace superbly to prevent a cross on the byline. His positioning when Reubs goes up for headers is terrific and even though not as consistent as last week, his distribution is improving again with confidence. Would put him just behind Allott and Reubs for MOM
  19. Lewis looks low on confidence ATM imo - hope I'm wrong and he plays and scores BUT personally would give the lad a rest and give O'Grady the chance he deserves after plugging away on his own at Turf Moor and looking very decent for last 20 at Tranmere. Reckon we'll do the franchise 3-1
  20. and Dowie is in the studio ... should be a good watch i hope Where's John Salako ?? Surely he'd love to chat about our small club's massively overachieving start to the season
  21. Well he'll certainly be in the top3 ... reckon they'll give it to Fryatt tho - 6 goals 'n Pearson got the managers award. Even tho Chrissy T deserves it we shud hope for less exposure of our star talent imo
