  1. Was i so vocal regarding my thoughts on RM, BB? Ok then i was......But i agree with you on Forbes, always looked ok to me at centre half and no surprise he's doing ok. As for Wood, I don't really have an opinion on him either way, as we never saw enough him!! hence letting him go. Plus i'm sure it wouldn't have cost a lot to pay him off, as his wages weren't that big. Thompson hasn't looked good, as i've agreed on, but i do think, we'd be daft to think of letting him go, considering size of squad already. I don't think Thompson is a bad player, i just think he has had a few bad performances so far and therefore every mistake he will be criticized for(as will crossley at the mo) - what would some fans do without a boo-boy!!
  2. I do find amusing still, how we judge a player after so few games.....Bertrand, some of us 'experts' decided he was a left winger after half a dozen games forgetting the lads age, inexperience etc and now the experts are deciding 'hey he me able to play there anyway!!' Totally dismissing i guess, expert professional coaches who play him there Shez and whoever he played for in Chelskis youth set up!) And although Thompson hasn't had a good start - ok then he's looked pretty dodgy at times, (but earlier when he played didn't all the back 4??) but lets get rid.....we've seen Beresford who who looks very competent and guess what...Crossley you're next - go on out you go! Football fans - we're so loyal!! And all after 13 games or so.....fantastic!
  3. Although i didnt clap him...I'm sure we would be performing better with Wellens in our side rather than against!! As for the drum....where's the 'shall we buy a drum for you' chant now
  4. So the poor perf yesterday was down to Hughes coco? Well, being as you were sat at home slagging the team off, in the comfort of your front room waiting for the egg chuckers, you wouldn't know that Hughes didn't even play would you?? And if that's your feeling regarding the team 'go through the motions' perhaps next season, stay away from bp and take your negativity to Oldham Edge or Waterhead park and watch St Annes or Waterhead rugby!!! Fishing line thrown.......i'm happy to bite and be hooked!!
  5. After his perf yesterday, does it matter a flying jot about what age he is......signed 2 do a job and a job he did. Let's hope it continues from him!
  6. Decent lad i think! http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details....yerid=628"" target="_blank">crossleys third leg!! Is it true though??
  7. Ian Ormondroyd!!! ...no being serious now.......John Kelly Actually did i hear/read Paul&Ron Futcher mentioned??
  8. IMHO not even up for debate....117 yes' and going strong!
  9. I agree with the "Taylor would be better on the right" brigade, but not at Lids' expense at the moment. I was annoyed by the anti Lids herberts last year and now we've got Ricketts, it looks like some of these characters have changed their choice for a while. And I'm quite sure it was BB80 who, certainly for the most of last season, was one who often suggested Lids had 'lost his legs'?!
  10. So by saying Lids (no service) and Taylor (little service), are you saying that you think Taylors been better that Lids so far this season?? Oh and i'm glad Lids has added to his "unsatisfactory 2007 stats " today mate!!
  11. Oh and by the way.....he also scored 1 more league goal than Warne last year!!!! I hope all of the players' legs go again this year, with those stats!!!
  12. Only can you BB turn this 'supposed' slagging off of Ricketts, into your own historic "slagging off" of Lids. As you continue to state about how much his legs have gone this year as they had last year.....and after very few games, you relate to stats.....so let's show you how his underperforming, "legs have gone" pins did last year in a full season (and of course please look at the hero known as Paul Warne who everybody said set loooaaaddss of goals up 9he doesn't quite seem close to "no legs" Lids does he Ross? http://www.football-league.premiumtv.co.uk...0610337,00.html Doesn't look 2 bad a season that to me!!!
  13. Although i kind of admire your optimism and loyalty Ross, I think if you look back at the history of our club, though you seem to know most of it anyway!! you will find that the particular period of our success, or late 80's/early 90's was a very 'out of the ordinary' one for a club of our size and financial standing. We have spent many pre Royle days languishing in the bottom 2 divisions of the football ladder and whilst there has obviously (pre tta) been a distinct lack of real investment at the club, i don't think really we can blame a medium sized local brewery for the 'demise???!?!?' of a succesfull Oldham Athletic. Before their sponsorship, we were certainly lacking anything like the funds they have invested over the years. As for a "claim" that Moores and Warnocks football was boring.........from my point of view, this is no claim...this was fact!!!!
  14. Just think when he first gets to primary school (if he's not there yet!?!?...inexperienced parent type here!!?) and the first things he sings in the school choir are.....sheep sheep sheep sh.............!!!!! followed by....Ohhhhh Lancky lancky........
  15. Q. Why's life like oral sex.......................... A. one slip of the tongue and you're in the sh1t!!!!
  16. It reminds me of that song Chaddy......eez agud eezagud eez ebeneezergud.........naughty, ..naughty,...very naughty!!!
  17. And as much as i agree that the club probably don't help themselves with a lack of serious advertisements, you only have to take the attitude of some of the clowns in this town who went to the couple of quid games coming out moaning and whinging about the football to realise that no matter how much the club did try, there is far too much 'couldn't give a toss' attitude about a lot of folks in their own town, who quite frankly don't give two hoots about it's football team!! And i can honestly say, i'd rather be sat with 4,500 latics 'fans' than 9thousand 'hangers on' (premier greed days spring to mind) who expect loads for nowt, then bog off when the chips are down!!
  18. I thought it was pretty good, and out of the 4 questions featured, the first 2 asked were mine!!
  19. I think to be fair, he did say every player has a set instruction on where to be, who to mark etc and they know their own responsibilities on set pieces, yet as wardle said, they haven't always carried out his instructions and he gets peeeeed off with this!!
  20. Not just the lager...then the becks as well!!!! It's a farce!! But an enjoyable eve all the same.....and i went home with my ST Wardle!!
