  1. And btw Branston phoned Shez, not the other way round..... TFFT.
  2. Just to let you all know, as i'm sure Wardle will in a wee while as well, the questions weren't quite as 'raw' as Rocky would have liked, but Shez as ever was very honest with his views on how we are currently playing, Alan Hardy was as 'entertaining' as ever and Neil Kilkenney was quite comfortable in saying that the dressing room was in good spirits and that this squad is def better than the last one he played with here. Without going into specifics (unless asked!!), that about sums it up. Oh and by the way, i started the ball rolling
  3. Granted the standing ovation was probably more of a show of support to the guy!!, rather than saying he was excellent. (no probs in that surely?) However Hughes did something in the game that seems to be devoid of many other players on saturday - a willingness to get across his defender in the box. A bit more of that and we wouldn't have the problem scoring like we are. A few games and he will prove to be a very good signing.
  4. Does anybody remember good old mrs burke, who used to sit in nsm upper 80's (before moving to aussie) and that bloody great big old fashioned rattle...the type found in 50's cup finals!! and if it had ever flown off, would have took your swede off!!
  5. A QUALITY BIT OF RESEARCH/KNOWLEDGE ds hAT'S OFF TO YOU AND ALL THAT!
  6. Pure quality...........We even named one of our guinea pigs Jobbo, we had 2 at the time and the other was called Bazza......after Earl Barrett!!! Bazza & Jobbo.....RIP my guinea pigs of course!!
  7. If it drowns the moans/winges of the herberts giving Ricketts, Gregan et al stick, then let him carry on!. Being in lowers looker, it doesn't bother us too much, but i would imagine those near (as unfortunately i've been on a couple of occcasions away from b.p), it does get on your threpennys'!!!
  8. hehe oops I was with the whole team, but couldn't get all their names into this thread
  9. I don't think Gregan was being praised for his performance the other night, i think the jist of the threads were saying that rather than put him on top of the world if he has a good game and bury him the week after if he has a bad one, we should perhaps be a bit more realistic with our 'long term' view on a player rather than our 'short term' one. You're right he does display a definate arrogant front and having spent time with him last christmas at a function, he doesn't lessen that off the pitch either. However, gregan on form is one of the top defenders at this level and to boo, jeer etc is probably not the best way to 'support' your players and team.
  10. mouldy old dough is now usually played quite soon after the turnstiles have been opened around 2;15pm, which i can't quite understand as there is hardly anyone there. Get rid of the silly bongo drum song and get mouldy old on around five 2 3!!!
  11. True in some senses Though those who never attended Burnley will have looked at the scoreline and thought we were garbage/battered. Nothing was further from the truth on tuesday!!..But on a side note.................... .but when did Shez actually say we were going to win the league as in your earlier post.
  12. I have to say that after such a drivel of a post, especially as you have no evidence of the goals being crossleys fault, couples with quotes like "Its just not cricket and I expect better from Sheridan." There is no wonder why Chickers came to such a conclusion! Comment yes by all means, but ffs, make it constructive!!
  13. Coco, i really hope yopu are well and truly wrong on this one (as more than 11 goals for Ricketts will bode well also for the team), but if you are right i will hold my cap in hand and put a couple of beers on it myself come end of april/may!!
  14. I still find it amazing that "supporters" after 4 games are so happy to give an individual stick/abuse. Is it jealousy? The fact that regardless of who it is that they are doing something we'd all love to do! Or are these "supporters" football purists, who have all played the game at the highest level and can really see the players' mistakes! Do they see the 'off the ball' runs that Ricketts makes, yet never is found by the pass of jp or allott or even kk, as they are only 3rd division footballers!! Or do they just judge him by the fact that he doesn't cover the same ground that a player with very limited ability - paul warne - can cover. Remember last year Latics fans in their droves "worshipped" Warney (rightly so for his effort), yet i'm sure even he would give his right arm to have some of Ricketts' ability. Frustrating - yes Ability - not in question. Get behind him for ffffff sake Saying that coco is right - you pay your money............
  15. Yes, i'm sure a player who has won cups, played in world cups and adored more or less wherever he played, will take notice of posts on here about team selection!?
  16. Didn't think the game required much handling really, although his booking of Trotman was nothing short of a joke!! Ok, he'd just come on and mad 3 quick fouls - surely just a word regarding his enthusiasm would have been enough. Though the liner nearest us on the opposite side 1st half was a bit of a clown. Overall, ref did ok i thought and for once not a prat!
  17. Why the are sky inviting such a 'vindictive one sided, war creating like him on their show to discuss an issue, that he has already 'passionately' spoke out against? With comments like that, he just wants to create trouble and not avoid/stop it and as for using That young Everton fan as an example before he talks about Hughes is just almost propoganda of the highest order!!! What an e-jit!
  18. Is this not related then??? my post was about not making strong judgements after 4 games. I was pointing out 1 goal conceded per game after only 4 shouldn't be enough to put people on panic stations!! (not for some anyway!?!?) As for the manner of the goals conceded, we have (as mentioned before!!) a far more visible issue than that and that's shots on goal!! I wouldn't say Mark Crossley has had his goal "peppered" in the last 3 games, teams are going to get chances and if we've only let in 46 goals come the end of the season as long as we've scored a few along the way, we won't be far off!!
