  1. In fact i believe it was a promotion winning year 1973/74 and my ma tells me stories of her stood belly swelling at the back of the chaddy end (with my dad i think!?!?)) So whilst in the womb i can remember the cheers of that season!!
  2. It must have been a good year....i was being cooked" up around 27th October '73...same season was there a serial casanova around that season!! If so i def didn't get his looks!!
  3. How about an "infamous" white carlotti one, that has done the catwalk on soccer am with Killen 12 on the back!! I'll bring it anyway, along with a couple of other "away" shirts for our foreign friends! Just off the subject of the game....is everybody meeting up after the tics game, if there is no time after ours??
  4. If Hughes wanted to get really fit, he could run from the midlands..though it is a fairway and i would imagine if his missus had been playing - a - round he'd have putterin her place! I'm sure he's coming here to win medals and will be desparate to win the title(ist!!) I was going to mention a score of 2under!! but no way!!! (sry!)
  5. Doh!! Sry guys, but the team are using the netting themselves tomorrow and therefore i have been stripped of this facility!! Can anyone else get hold...i am currently trying alternate contacts..............As for the bibs SW...i didn't mention them ...A case of mistaken identity on the bib st mate
  6. And pre match!! Centre halves are always better after a few slurps y'know!
  7. I believe very soon! I've heard on the grapevine?!? Ex-landlord of white hart to run it?
  8. Seeing as he cut me off last time, after turning my discussion around saying that we would accept convicted peadophiles playing for us?!?!? I am certainly not going to increase my delicate blood pressure for that numpty again by tuning in! I also e-mailed him (Gaunt) last time and advised him to lie down in a dark room for a while as his Show would surely be turned off by "decent broad minded football fans" not wanting to listen to his hot headed argumentative dribble!!
  9. Are the bibs for any spilt ale at half time!!! No oranges required then!!
  10. Agreed ghost, i think we need to remember he is only still 18 but at the moment every pass he tries finds touch or an opposition player and his head drops. A couple of games out would be good for him, but with Stam and Lomax injured, unfortunately he'll have to try and play through this spell. Shez saw it towards the end of the season, when he dropped him at Blackpool. I just hope he doesn't think of playing Macdonald in there though!!!
  11. After the final whistle on saturday, making our way down the steps and this guy (not a young lad either!) turned to me and said. "Well that's the worst performance i've ever seen!!" :sign0094: YOU WHAT?? my quick response. "you haven't been going long then have you?" Was he at the same game, granted first half we were pretty poor, though both teams were really. But worst perf ever!?!? Is he in a minority on this one...i really hope so!
  12. Pretty accurate reporting there mr Beardy! Davies is def looking like a different gravy and i know it was against pretty poor oppo, but you still have to produce the goods and boy did he produce them. Defences are going to have an absolute 'mare' with him this year. I think whilst they are that occupied with Davie, things will then come good for Ricketts/Hughes when he arrives. Though Ricketts and Davies ssem to be linking up very nicely already. Eards certainly seems to have lost a bit of confidence/touch and we musn't forget how young the lad is and maybe a couple of games rest when Lomax is fit might refresh him. As for Smalleys chance, that ball definately came back at him at some pace!! Finally, a bit of credit to Shez, glad he played a full strength side, getting them used to each other further and increasing everybodys match fitness - on to Carlisle we go!!
  13. The starting 11 from saturday have still not had many games together, the more they play together, surely the more fluent they will become for the league. I'm sure Shez will play a very strong team and may only make a change or two!
  14. Fightin' talk that is up north!!! I am sharpening my studs in earnest!!
  15. Rocket Ronnie Jepson... And SW i agree with your likeness (or lack of it of Davis to Warne).....He does seem to have the same work rate, with Davis having more Strength etc and one vital ingredient that sets him apart from Warne IMO Quality!!

    Full Backs

    John Ryan and Paul Atkinson...Quality!!!
  17. I fly early Sun morn so am unable to make the training session gaffer, but will be available for a centre halfs role cometh the hour!!
  18. I have to say, that on this occasion, i think the agents right! He doesn't need to prove his ability, just if he would be match fit and i thought he looked okay against the dale. He doesn't need to go and play in a 'meaningless' pre-season friendly to show what he's about, risking injury and therefore the possibility of getting a deal anywhere!! He's been pre season training with Sheff utd and is probably ahead of quite a few of our pros in terms of fitness. Let's have him raring to go for the for the first game and give Lomax a chance to get a few games under his belt.
  19. + does that count us 'comps' who were sat with David Eyres + ex bp legend Billy Urmson!! Have to say thought we did ok, we seemed to improve 2nd half, when we got the ball zipping about a bit more. I thought Davis looked a real handful! Though not so sure about comparing him to Warne!!! Davis has FAR more in his locker IMO than Warne did. Just hope latics fans don't get on Ricketts back too early. Think he's going to be one of them players who frustrates the hell out of fans. But sure when he gets fully fit, he'll be class. Gregan and Thompson def need to work on their line, as at times, it resembled a line graph of our last 10 years league positions!! Ratboy and Jp looked a handful in the middle, but as most have seen and are a bit worried about...where's the creativity going to come from? Very impressed with Alessandra, very good footwork and quick, hope he breaks through......All in all, even though we are a little bit short in a couple of positions, i do think we have a stronger squad, than at this time last year!! Hold on to your hats, here goes!!
  20. Thought he did ok at Rocky Though as we were sat in front of the directors box, when there "icckle" sub came on as well, i had to ask about him and Wright...."How far away are they!!!!" They were over the other side of the field, yet both looked like they were miles away!!
  21. I know, we could prob have the starting Brazil 11, putting latics shirts on and still come away with nowt from there!!!
