Whitaker was poor then? The one thing he has going for him, he weighs in with a few goals. Other than that he isn't great. Wouldn't be surprised if Sheridan came in for him.

Lomax is solid at right back. Left back he isn't so good, seeing as he is right footed thats understandable. Obviously Abbott will be lacking sharpness first pre season game, but I think we'll be saying that a lot throughout the season. Hopefully for once we have a bit of luck with regards to players not getting injured! I wouldnt sign Haining, not too different from Gregan the way he plays, lacks pace but wins pretty much everything in the air. Only difference from Gregan is weight , and the fact Haining knows how to attack crosses from set pieces !

Loved how Ponting brought on part time bowler North to bowl the final overs to get that all important wicket. Clueless!

I'd understand that reaction if Stockport were given the whole RRE. But they havent. It makes for a better atmosphere when we're in the small bit. Granted it ain't ideal but when you only have 3 stands. Decisions like these have to be made

As good as Larsson was I didnt think he'd sign for United at that stage of his career, which is how I feel about Owen signing for them now. Reckon it'll be similar to Solksjaer, Owen will nick a goal just when they need one. As much as I hate them Taggart is up there with the best, and this will probably turn out to be a shrewd signing. Could turn out to be good for England, but that would mean good for United.. hmmm! Exactly Rosa, the lad on the "trials for latics" thread needs to look at the brochure made by Owens agents and make something similar, he'll be at a Championship club in no time

Won't be the main striker at United, no reliance on him like there was at Newcastle. A fit Michael Owen will score goals. He wont have to play every game and won't have to be rushed back from any injuries he probably will get. Another seemingly odd signing like Larsson was that will probably come off for Ferguson. Good move for both player and club me thinks.

I rate that Ian Craney but our midfield is the position we have sorted now so he's a no. Luckettis old, we already have a slow backline. Parker could be ok, he lost his way last season though.
