Ultimately a victim of us having no reserves. I'd have him back next season as others have said completely different to what we have (which isnt much). He's also still young 22/23 and still has potential.. and a lot to learn.

Its worrying when fans like you, Nik and Prozac etc. Are all starting to lose the enthusiasm for the club. Sadly I feel the same, been a fan for 15 years regularly witnessed crap in mid-late 90s, yet still enjoyed going and the "buzz" was still there. In recent times i've been missing home games, and not cared about checking the result, nor arsed about not going. Can't put my finger on why. I feel it may have something to do with the constant overhaul of the squad we have each summer. The players have no affinity with the club, it says it all when comments like "you fans take it too seriously" are coming from our very own players. Sums it all up when in the past Danny Boshell and now Matty Wolfenden were/are our longest serving players. Its no wonder we're still stuck in League One. This season has wound me up more than ever, we started off the season looking like contenders for automatic promotion contenders never mind play offs. Yet as a result of piss poor management, and discipline issues with our players, we have messed up our season up in the most important months. The way we have imploded and slipped out of the play off race has been pathetic and pretty feckin embarassing. But thank god for that early season run as I dread to think where we would be now- that is the only positive I can take from this truely shambolic season.

I'd say he's bad, but i've probably only seen him play 60 minutes for us altogether. Find it unfair to judge. Lomax is a player no where near good enough for a team that wants to challenge for promotion.

Although a decent talent, bit of a bad egg apparently. We've all seen the effect bad personalities can have on a teams season!!!!

Cheers Liddell, will always remember his free kick away at Swindon in his first season for us. Up there with the best goals i've seen scored by an Oldham player. As for next season, I'm worried we'll struggle. The majority of my time supporting Latics i've expected us to struggle. As for Alessandra and O'Grady being an awful front two. Sadly I think we've had much worse... Whitehall and Allott for one.

I didnt expect much this season to be honest from the start. For me our signings lacked quality in the main. The start to the season raised my hopes obviously but where we are now is about where I thought we'd finish this season... how we have pretty much imploded has been feckin frustrating though.

I think how we capitulated in the 06/07 season was more frustrating. But this season is up there. Surely we've got to get it right soon enough!!

Yet why the apparent moaning about his performances? If really they were scared of paying out money due to our striker actually being a success and reaching a decent goal total.

If ever there was a word worthy of being censored on here "Dissertation" would be it!! I wrote mine in 2 months 16,000 words, 59% week late not bad. Can't remember what the exact title of it as its something i've tried to banish from my memory, the biggest ballache was the references at the end.

Speaking of Leeds, after watching the Damned United at weekend. Did they actually have their names on the back of their training kits? Did they do a gay mincey spin round arm in the air acknowledging the crowd before every game? And more importantly, were the whole team that violent and dirty on the pitch? I thought I was watching Mean Machine for a while.

It's been league one football since Colchester at home. Well the players certainly showed they didnt want it anyway. Pathetic.

Strong in terms of numbers, but in terms of quality not good enough. You only have to look at the squad list which have been typed out on recent posts, and the amount of players you wouldn't be bothered about if they were to leave.

Lomax back in the team? Oh no.

I'm more concerned that the whole team has gone from looking like play off certainties to relegation fodder.

Colchester and now Tranmere have played us off the park in recent games. Not the pitches fault, down to the players not being good enough.

I was saying yesterday Allott has been crap for ages, yet no one seemed to agree with me. For me Whitaker should have stayed on yesterday and Allott replaced by Maher. Cant blame Royle though hes only been working with the players for a matter of days. Only one i'd disagree with on there is Lomax. Get rid. Not good enough for a team wanting to get promotion in my opinion. Unsure about Gregan as well!!
