  1. Man Utd would have took all 10 places up, but I couldn't leave Rochdale out, so it's Man U at 1-9 and Rochdale at 10. No-one else comes anywhere close to making the top 10, though I do smile when Leeds and Tranmere lose.
  2. Geezer with discipline problems managed and coached by geezers with discipline problems. This could be an interesting signing if it happens!
  3. The site including both schools is 17.25 acres. The site including only New Bridge school is 13 acres, though the position of the school on the site would make further development difficult. The land available behind the schools totals 8.16 acres, but that land backs immediately onto several residential properties and also the M60. The land on the opposite side of Roman Rd (Where the gasometer is) totals 14.03 acres, but is long rather than wide, and would struggle to accomodate a pitch and two sides of terracing. To give an idea what sort of area we may need, the total useable land around BP including 'Little Wembley' and the car parks on Sheepfoot Lane is 19.76 acres, though removing 'LW' and measuring only the ground and Lookers car parks brings the size down to 11.74 acres. The ground itself (Including all 4 original stands) stood at approximately 5.22 acres. All this really shows how tight a fit it would be to get anything bigger than a 5000 seat stadia at this part of Hollinwood. Hope this helps.
  4. When everyone else is talking about not parking at BP at all, you are contemplating the idea of taking TWO cars on match days? I don't know.... Some people clearly have more money than sense!!
  5. Great Tits... .....not many about these days near BP. Likewise Coal Tits, Greenfinches and Wrens.
  6. I can tell English Grammar wasn't your strongest subject at school. Good point. Badly made.
  7. hmm...mozzarella. What does yours taste of Warren?
  8. That may very well be the case JLF, but I think the blanket is too often thrown over all our fans who have the nerve to question Boardroom or Manager's decisions, and not just those few who steadfastly refuse to accept change is needed.
  9. After witnessing the crap that's been served up to us over the last few years, we're fortunate to have ANY fans left. As far as I see it, those fans that voice a pessimistic opinion do so because they care considerably whether we're making the right decisions this time, after years of commercial and tactical naivete. Those who questioned moving to Failsworth might just have been thinking logically, with real concerns over whether it would work financially, rather than berating the club for moving out of a ground they feel at home in. If they're still here, still going to matches, and still questioning every decision, then surely that means they care?
  10. Kaskenmoor is. New Bridge school next door is new.
  11. Kaskenmoor would be an extremely tight fit for 10,000+ capacity stadium. Couple that with the fact that an £8m newly completed school would need relocating, there would be massive opposition from a large number of homes that the ground would be right on top of, and the nightmare it would cause to local traffic, then the council have got one hell of a difficult task to relocate Latics there.
  12. Goal difference should look healthier from now on...
  13. I completely agree. The club have nothing to lose by looking into this.
  14. Can we have a seperate thread for all these RoyleArmyesque posts that have a player's name in the title suggesting we might have signed / watched the player, when in actual fact there is no link with the club whatsoever, and a guy's name is being plucked from a list of hundreds of available players and thrown into a hat, with the expectation of a pointless discussion over whether the said player would be good enough for us even though he will most probably never even be considered by the club? We could call it the 'RoyleArmy Irrelevant Name Submission' thread. I want to see rumour with substance, not name-plucking. Rant over, thanks.
  15. Try Soundhound if you want a phone app.
  16. Is it true you have Ryan Giggs on soon? Overheard someone say "Ryan Giggs in T'Junction" At least I think that's what he said......
  17. Pretty sure we had to pay Wrexham £50k as part of their sell-on clause for Eardley.
  18. Ask Zorrro. He's enjoyed the odd chat with Wayne in the past - they might still keeep in touch.
  19. It's Corney's money, if he thinks it's a good deal then he can do what he likes. As long as he understands that us fans can do what we like with our money when they're trying to flog more season tickets. Fair's fair I suppose.
  20. Reckon I managed about 70 games in 1984/5, and that took some mighty effort, so 100+ games is a phenomenal achievement
  21. I went, and wondered why I bothered. In fact, I'm wondering whether I should bother renewing my twenty-odd year season ticket after that. Most of the players simply couldn't be arsed yesterday because there was nothing to play for (How about a bit of PRIDE?). John Gorman's antics were the only highlight of the game (Carl's goal aside) and the 'retain' list should be very small from what I saw. Mvoto has been inconsistent in this second spell, and his failure to clear for their second goal was typical of the simple mistakes displayed throughout that game and frankly, most of the season by all players. Shocking passing, lack of awareness and minimal movement off the ball have been our trademark for some months, and yesterday was a display of all those traits at their best. There you go. There's your match report. No idea what Taggart offers us. He wouldn't make my retain list either.
  22. Quite right too. My money's staying in my pocket until I can be sure my donation won't been spent on alcopops and gravyless chip suppers.
  23. Fa cup semi final 1990 - We were robbed of the European place we deserved, and the money/success that goes with it by a ludicrous decision to disallow a goal which everyone but the officials saw cross the line. Had redscum lost that game, Ferguson would surely have been on his way and history could have been very different. Fa cup semi final 1994 - THAT goal, and the unwarranted injury time it was scored in, plus the taunting that led to me decking two asian scumfans in the car park afterwards. The so-called 'Latics' fans that abandoned us to follow utd immediately after we went down and the reds won the double. Fergie time. Champions League winners when they weren't even champions - how does that work??? Bring back the European Cup format - Liverpool's achievement was phenomenal under that format, yet utd fans reckon they've matched it despite losing god knows how many CL matches. Aer Lingus flights and Virgin trains out of Euston all packed with utd fans on matchdays - Well, it's easier to follow success than support your local team isn't it? Disregard for grass roots football. Fans disappearing after a defeat, then in your face after a narrow victory. Every unknown player they buy (i.e Jaap Stam) being hailed as the best in the world in that position. Ferdinand refusing a drug test. Cheating bastard. Pubs full of fans who 'can't get a ticket' (Even though I could if I wanted one). Rarely playing at 3pm on a saturday - yeah, balls to tradition eh? the Sky money's better. Fergie getting away with driving on the hard shoulder 'because he had the :censored:s'! If I tried that excuse in court they'd double my fine! Fergie arrogantly refusing to speak to the media, and banning the BBC. Demanding that season ticket holders purchase cup tickets (And taking the money from their accounts!. Reasons to despise United? I've only just begun... City? well they're just horrible bitter and two-faced bastards.
