  1. we're right next to the motorway so a big tick there, we give them the best stand with good acoustics - big tick there. Not sure why the town scores so highly, they must have wandered into Royton by mistake
  2. It's a shame to see great old clubs now feeders for others. Licensing is going out of the window by the way but dual reg will still be around I think - they're too tight to run reserve teams.
  3. ah right, you'd think airports number 2 and 3(I think?) would be able to keep a direct flight going. Then again I suppose if you're going down on business you're better of with LHR.
  4. The problem that I can see is that Koukash or whoever not only needs to buy the club from Corney but he then needs to buy the ground/land from Corney plus the other two. Koukash wants to buy us, I think that can now be accepted as given, if Latics say it's a long shot then either a)it's just to quieten things down a little while the sale is worked through or b)the club part of the deal isnt an issue but the ground is. Anyway, will now try to stop stressing about it and over analysing or I'll have no hair by the start of the season.
  5. the tv channel sounds a bit outlandish but I'd sign up if we could get replays of all our games (x amount of hours afterwards - whatever the likes of Liverpool/Chelsea/Man United/Celtic do now) and various interviews/old footage etc. It'd have to be an online job surely?!
  6. Well I'm sure we dont need to worry as we have a supporter on the board dont we? Barrington will let Corney know in no uncertain terms that he must go and go now and make things as easy as possible for the takeover to proceed without hitch. He is our voice, he is our light
  7. Stevenage away - brilliant! No good to anyone else but if you live in Hertfordshire it's most welcome.( And there isnt any good time to visit Wolves)
  8. they better not balls it up by wanting to keep their mits on the ground/land
  9. no way it'd happen. Salford coming to Oldham I mean. Oldham in SL could, with someone happy to pour a few million down the drain every year. While I'm a fan of RL, I only 'like' ORLFC rather than support them - those of you that do...do you ever wish you had merged with Salford back in the 90's?
  10. God, I so hope he's sitting on a lovely big pile of hidden Persian Gulf lolly
  11. The Broncos really need some central funding - but of course, there just isnt the money and probably not the will either. They cant compete for wages, who on earth is going to take the same wage in London they could get up north? Plus the club has been run in the most inept way imaginable for the past god knows how long. It feels like the end times for them, be a real shame. I've now latched onto the much more fun Hemel Stags - Super League 2030 here we come!
  12. If I was in his position I'd stick to RL, you can make a big noise with a lot less money but I'm not and if he wants to pish away money on Latics let him. I must admit there is an alarm bell ringing faintly at the back of my brain but sod it, 17 years in this division - I canna take no more ;-)
  13. As a London Broncos fan I beg to differ about being competitive ;-) I think there is a real sense of the game stagnating - the big cheeses - Wigan,Leeds,St Helens,Warrington,Hull are all ok financially, Huddersfield have a sugar daddy, Salford now have one, Catalans are doing ok and everyone else is potless. Koukash's point is that by having such a low salary cap is that you're keeping everyone at a certain level of mediocrity just to keep the likes of Wakey,Cas,Broncos tagging along. If someone's got the money and wants to spend it, let 'em. Licensing is for one of two things - bringing the standards of the teams together or stopping them going bust. It's failed at both. With the salary cap being so low and with the NRL now having squillons to roll around in then there'll be no decent players left soon enough - they'll either be in Australia (perhaps good for our international side) or they'll go to the dark side. There are perhaps 7 teams who can spend to keep the best, let them.
  14. yes but they're Orthodox Jew settlers living at the top of hills in fortified camps. They do not consider themselves Palestinians in any way shape or form.
  15. it's all a bit vague which obviously makes one wonder. Dont think he makes the Times Rich List - what's the bottom end of that? 50,70M? So less than that and more than what I've got
  16. it'd make perfect sense to redevelop and have Oldham RL move out of that tip they call home and back in with us. They do currently have a link up with Salford as it happens with dual registered younger players, not sure they've had too many so far seeing as Salford had practically no players left at the start of the season.
  17. I very much doubt we'd move there - we'd no longer be Oldham Athletic and I doubt that it would be allowed, plus nearly all of us would no longer support them. He doesnt own the ground in Salford - although I think he's said he'd like to - and the ra ra's play there in the winter. As pointed out above I'm sure those loveable three amigo's would love it if they could get to build over the whole of BP and ride off into the sunset but nah, cant see it. We'll stay in Oldham, they'll stay next to the motorway in nowhere land and we'll all live happily ever after - all the way to the Premier League or liquidation depending on how it all pans out
  18. 3 days to walk to Kuwait, he's got a serious stride on him!
  19. I dont think he's mega rich although owning loads of racehorses normally indicates a certain level of affluence. Richer than our current one that's for sure
  20. haha, yes - I think it's called Israel isnt it? How many Palestinian Jews are there? Israeli Arabs, yes. Palestinian Jews, no.
  21. as for the TV channel it'd have to be an internet channel surely??
  22. RL in this country needs a bloody good shake up and if it takes a big mouthed self publicist to do it then why not? He is Palestinian, not from Kuwait and no idea why someone thinks he's jewish
  23. I think we should always be wary of anyone - our history and that of loads of other clubs dictates that - but COME ON, 'AVE IT. The promises of Koukash versus our current reality - live the dream! Hmm, maybe not the best phrase ;-)
