  1. Sorry your wrong. The ball has to be played in a forward direction for a player to be offside. If a player stretches or moves back from an offside position to get a ball that is played sideways or backwards then he is deemed to be onside.
  2. 1) There is no way there were 7,409 in that ground yesterday. I'd be surprised if there were 5,500. We should add our nn attending season ticket holders on to our attndeances. Would add upto 500 a game. Huddersfield did it a couple of years ago and at times it added something like 2,000 on to the actual figure. 2) Called the offside straightaway yesterday simply because of the keepers position. The only question is did the ball go sideways or backwards. If it did then the goal should have stood. From behind the goal my initial take was that it went forward. Will be interesting to see the highlights on player later this afternoon.
  3. Whilst I understand the OP and get fed up of the D&G I don't mind the constructive stuff that the likes of Prozac post. Don't always agree of course but hey it's all about opinions. As for the 2 of you talking about #anytimeanyplace come on boys your both better than that. #notneeded
  4. I agree with the majority of that Paul, but can't agree with the highlighted bits about Tarky. As I've said on the other post. Neither goal are his fault and have nothing to do with any lapses of concentration. Watch the highlights again on IPlayer and Latics player later today. If you referred to O'Grady's 1st goal the other night where Tarky allowed him to control turn and shoot you would have a point, but not either of the 2 goals yesterday IMHO
  5. Wrong Cliff Byrne is a RB who can play centre Half. Do you not remember him up againsty Chris Taylor in his Scunthorpe days?
  6. Well it's started already. Tarky is clearly going to be the new boo boy. I wondered just how long it would take before we found out who it was going to be. Tarky at fault for both goals! Don't make me laugh. Yes the lad makes mistakes, but show me a football game and I'll show you 22 players and a referee who make mistakes. Watch the highlights (lowlights) here on the BBC IPlayer http://www.bbc.co.uk...013_18_08_2012/ For the 1st goal Simpson clearly loses HIS man and has since held his hand up. But hey lets not that little fact stop the witchhunt. The second doesn't show the whole lead up. Changy floats a poor free kick into the box (after Croft was cynically taken out in the middle of the park) which was too easy for the keeper, who then sets a quick breakawy in motion. What is clear is that despite charging back JYM is a good 5-10 yards away from getting anywhere near making it back into position in the centre. Changy had dropped in to cover after taking the free kick and the lad has finished well. Now if JYM can't get back and cover, Tarky who is not as quick hasn't got a cat in hells chance. Despite that he must and i'm sure will learn that he can't be arguing and instead make the effort to get back in position quickly in case the covering players can stop the counter, which is what JYM did. That is being constructive. Not a lot of what I have read above, which just appears to be picking out this seasons new target. Oh and all the mongs on twitter giving him personal grief your just pathetic. Grow up
  7. If the stadium was 1/4 full I would be surprised. 1 seat in 4 occupied looked very very optimistic. However, MK have a history (its about the only history that they do have) of putting out attendance figures far higher than they actually are. Itls worth noting that in the play off game v huddersfield last season the official attendance was less than 12,000, including a very healthy following from (the still unbeaten ) visitors of probably around 4,000. They were obvioulsy not going to declare it as higher as they have to account to the football league for the attendance and gate receipts as they are pooled and shared for the play off teams As for the original point about Simmo. the poster is living in cloud cookoo land. Simpson was elbowed himself earlier in the game (not sure by who) and just before the incident, Tarky was also clearly elbowed. MK are certainly as capable as any in this league for giving it out, but it appears that they can't take it back. Kay was an idiot for his reaction. It was a red card offense all day long and he can't have any complaints. If the guy wants to blame anyone he should be looking at the ref. Mr Williamson who yet again proved he does not have the ability to handle a game at this level. I am still to see him ref any game be it live or on tv where I thought he had done well
  8. Aston Villa did with their main stand as that is a listed buidling so could not be demolished. To answer an earlier point in this thread, neither the main standnor or it's facade at BP are listed nor subject to preservation orders nor is it in a conservation area and their is/was outline planning permission in place to demolish and re-build with a new 3,000 seat stand as part of the last planning consent. That hopefully should put to bed the latest myth.
  9. Wimbledons plan is to build a 12,000 mixed standing and seated capacity stadium that is capable of being expanded to 22,000. as detailed on their website. http://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/clubdocs/2012-08-06_AFC_Wimbledon_Merton_Council_submission_press_release.pdf
  10. You must be watching different games to me. IMO Youseff gives us a better balance than we had last season and I don't think that Taylor has been missed so far from the games I have seen (Before anyone says anything I'm not criticising CT). However the big test start next Monday against Sheff Wednesday. As for Croft, he is not overweight. He has nothing more to lose and is now looking sharp and a full 90 mins under his belt today without blowing out of his backside shows that.
  11. Matt Chambers just tweeted the following: - PD pleased with way players coped after tough training this week. Portuguese striker back home, offer on table but agent involved... #oafc
  12. Latics have managed to get the Premier league champions to Boundary Park. Birmngham game was cancelled before this was announced in agreement between the managers Most of the premier league big boys don't play friendlies in England they tour abroad to earn big bucks. United, Arsenal, Chelsea, City Liverpool tour America or Asia each year. Every 2nd year is more difficult for the big boys tours because of the Euro's/World cup and they can't take all their big players who then need match practice City have taken a skeleton squad on tour The City players given extra time off after playing in the euros will not be joining the tour Latics are charging £15 to watch the premier league champions. Southampton charged £25 on Staurday to watch three 45 minute games with Arsenal & Anderlecht Arsenal played virtually their reserve side As was shown with the Liverpool game last season the game will entice a good number of casuals, floaters, "daytrippers" and "gloryhunters" These gloryhunters and daytrippers won't be compalining about the prices - Well they wouldn't would they. They don't normally go The game will put additional funds into the clubs bank account The hospitality packages will sell out Everyone attending will help with the governments deficit reduction campaign (£2.50 from every adult ticket goes to Mr Osbourne) Season ticket holders can still watch a friendly free of charge as part of their season ticket deal. Just go to the Huddersfield game If you don't do friendlies don't go to the game If you think it will be City's kids don't go to the game If your not happy with the decision or the set admission price don't go to the game If you can't afford the admission price don't go to the game (no one would blame you) If your pissed off with the club don't go to the game. If your pissed off because you can't use your voucher don't go to the game If your pissed off with Harry Bunn don't go to the game If you think this is bad PR by the club don't go to the game If you don't like the new shirt don't go to the game If your pissed off that it's unreserved seating don't go to the game HOWEVER If you want to support your club, go to the game If you think that £15 is reasonable go to the game If you want to see the premier league champions probably featuring around 7 or 8 players that took part in the Euros go to the game If you want to see superstars like Balotelli, Nasri and Spain schemer and winners medal holder David Silva go to the game If you want to see the 1st game at Boundary Park since May, go to the game If your not bothered if Harry Bunn plays or not or even which team he plays for, go to the game If you just want to watch a game of football, go to the game. Simples
  13. There is no stipulation in his tweet just if we "sign" him. He aint getting out of this "If we sign Lee Croft, I will buy a season ticket and get a Paul Dickov tattoo"
  14. Lee Sinnott is going to be embarrassed after this. He tweeted that if we signed Lee Croft he would buy a season ticket and get a paul Dickov tattoo. My better half has now offered to book the tattoo for him in the morning and I'll be driving him to BP to pay for his ST.
  15. I haven't got a problem with Morais, or any other player in fact, going to another club for more money. My point was simply that you always saw the best of Morais once he realised that he would shortly need a new contract, either with us or elsewhere, hence his poor 1st half of the season and his improved 2nd half. Apparently it's been the same throughout his career. Once the signed contract is tucked in his back pocket for some reason he seems to switch off.
  16. To be fair, I wouldn't have minded Morais signing for 6 months. The 6 months from January to the end of the season as that would mean he was playing for a new contract and you only get the best out of Phil once he realises that his contract is running down
  17. Because contracts expire 30th June and he can only sign a pre contract with us before then. Makes sense to formally announce on the 1st (or 2nd as its a Monday) July when the ink is dry. If we announced it this week as a precontract and then again next Monday as formalities complete there would be those on here asking why it has been announced twice Can't win whichever way. P.S. Watch them announce it now and then again on Monday.
  18. This site has become so cynical over the last 12 months that traffic has vastly reduced as people basically become pissed off with the constant moaning. The negativity today is, even by this boards recent standards, unbelievable. There will be another "signing" announced tomorrow that I guess in all likelyhood will be either Wes, Tonks or (hopefully) Simpson re-signing. There again, it may be sme one new who will "excite." Most clubs have not made any signings yet and only 48 hours ago people on here were moaning that we had not signed anyone either new or on renewals and that the club were giving us no news. Doom and gloom was the order of the day. Then 3 signings in 24 hours and the same people are still moaning, just moving the goalposts. The midnight oil has been burning at BP this week as long hours have been put in by the chairman, manager and CEO. News will come out when the time is right and the club will give teasers of what is coming up to grab attention and drive traffic through the income generating websites during the closed season. All as per has been suggested on this site over the last couple of years. You got your way so shut the F up. Bring on the new season asap please I'm bored already. Oh by the way. Good luck to Kieran Lee. The lad deserves his chance to try his luck at a higher level. I don't mind admitting being wrong when after his 1st game at right back against Hartlepool I said he was a liability and would never make a full back. He still has a lot to learn but I get the feeling that the lad has made such good progress over the last 2 years he will eventually end up back in the Premiership. It's 1 I will keep a keen eye on in the future. As for Chris Taylor. I maintain what I have always said about our club. Basically if we had the chance to sell him then we should have done. That is what brought us success in the past. Selling when we could and "re-investing" an appropriate amount of that income in the squad. I'm gutted that he has gone. Not as some on here because they think he is :censored:, but simply because I think we missed an opportunity. Good luck Chris, I hope the change of scenery bring you success. If the money is offered for Cisak that has been rumoured then please please OAFC take it.
  19. Footballers get a bad name most of the time, mostly by people that have never met them face to face. But at the end of the day we are a community who stand by our own in times of adversity. Tonight our thoughts are with an ex Latic Dean Holden and his family at this very tragic time. RIP Angel
