  1. if you have read a couple of my postings you will guess who i have voted for( sure diego, alangrovesperm, lieutenant pigeon and harrydowdsgreenshirt) will have upmost pleasure in telling me i was wrong bu Allott 4 me is still not good enough, but like i have said i hope i am proven so very wrong.
  2. i started watching latics in 1977 and those days up to about 1980 or so there used to be only one mascot that was a lad called micheal docherty, not usre why it changed but then they started drawing out names at junior latics, i never gone drawn out ps for lieutenant pigeon dont use being 13 as an excuse! it s like your dad being to old to have ever got the chance no excuse
  3. i have only seen the sheff wed game so can only make a comment from what i saw in that gane. Davies was pure magic 0 he is going to cause defenders a nightmare this season Ricketts will be a force once he gets his fitness level up to scratch Kalala Thought he had a great game thought he put himself about well - i think this will be a terrific signing THompson - thought already him and Gregan have got a partnership going already in the short space of time they have played together, think this another super signing Crossley didnt think he did anything wrong he is a proven keeper at the top level so will not have too much criticism there now left Allott till last - why? well firstly i dont think hes good enough, but i looked a this game objectively and fairly and frankly he is going to have to do a lot more to impress me, i really hope he does but didnt have a good game for me - looking at other games from reading an talking to other fans he has played well and some thought he did against Wed, but thats the beauty about the game - time will tell
  4. this is an absolute quality signing bar none, proven goalscorer - he will be the power striker you need at this level and shez has played the trump card with this signing. Ive mentioned b4 only unhappy bout 1 signing and that is ALLOTT - who i dont think is good enough to do the job but thats my opinion and i hope deep in my heart he will prove me wrong and you can all have a go at me during the season people mentioning left backs - i for one would have stam there again only my opinion, cant wait for the next signing
  5. andy true legend - my dad used too work with his dad so we got to know quite a bit that was going on - his brother chris is the same age as me and we played against each other loads of times, if you ever spoke to their dad he reckons that chris would of been a better player than andy had he put his mind to it. any way my connection with andy is i have the no 15 shirt he wore when we beat sheff wed
  6. according to old man bobby johnstone is the greatest player ever to wear a tics shirt by a country mile, when he listed his top team BJ was the first man on the team sheet. we both knew bobby late on as he used to play crown green bowls like ourselves and was a really decent player . he was a very mild natured chaacter with a top sense of humour, but never liked talking about football too much later in his life. to my dad knowing bobby quite wellas her did would be like me mates wiv andy ritchie. just think for the old fellow playing against him at bowls having a chat about whatever and then having a drink after thats just fantastic, could you imagine doing that wiv with footy hero ten fifteen twenty years after you were chanting his name for the terraces, would be brill sorry i didnt see him play - thats my memory of Bobby Johnstone
  7. the most contraversial signing latics have ever made by a country mile. yeas basing it on a footnalling basis great and depending on fitness could do a job. however there are going to be further things that maybe we havent thought of - i.e security anyway lets see how this pans out
  8. how about th case of jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way oh what fun it is see oldham win away
  9. to lincoln i would of had to have been old enough to remember it mate - only used sheridan to see if it worked stating watching tics in 1977 (unlike alangroves perm and harrydowds green shirt) who would remember songs pre world war, so hope they post on here) anyway sorry for the confusion but it was frizzell and royle song
  10. oh the lads you should of seen us coming walking down sheepfoot lane u should of seenus coming all the lads and lasses with smiles upon their faces walking down sheepfooooooooooottttttttttt lane to see john sheridand aces wasnt that one we used to sing regular??
  11. Had it done january 2006 best thin eva mate, there are two types of treatment dependent on your eyes. if your are the normal round shape you will probably have what is called epi-lasek surgery and will have both eyes done at the same time this is like being sat in a dentist chair and you cant feel it you will be out of sink for about 3-4 days top this is what i had and well recommended. the other one is still well worth it and this is if your eyeballs are rugby shaped or you have a stigmatism this when the cut your eyes and with this you will be out of sink for 2-3 days. in th e early days when you used to have one eye at a time alangroves perm had it done so ihis has been over a longer period and is till ok. you eyes are more sensative to the light but nothing to worry about if you need any more advice i will only be pleased to talk to you about it.
  12. thats a compliment especially from you thanks
  13. Warney by an absolute country mile, the only one that may have pushed him was gregan if he had come sooner , with wellens in third place big hats off to porter, for the most improved player and eardley up until late has come on leaps and bounds and by the way alangroves perm no one else would have you,
  14. obviously not Diego or a load of others i could mention including the most two negative miserable blokes and one woman at bradford on monday i have ever had this displeasure of meeting, yeah you who told Harrydowds greenshirt to sit down you were sat on the side about row f, and i dont need any negativity so wake up and listen to you all moaners support your good damn team for petes sake yeah automatic might be out the question but if you could hear some of you youd think we were going down to the north west counties second division or something sorry on my soap box but just naffs me off team dont need it OWTB
  15. look guys one win for me will be enough that will put us seven points in front of swansea and carlisle, carlise goal diff is naff so they would have to win two draw 2 and have swansea and Bristol City and Scunthorpe to play.. swanseas goal diff is not as good as us but would also probably have to win 2 draw 2 again wiv carlise to play as well as playing blackpool last match of the season: in the play offs does it matter who we play really, i dont believe so here are the fixtures that matter left Saturday, 14 April 2007 Blackpool v Northampton, 15:00 Bournemouth v Swansea, 15:00 Brentford v Nottm Forest, 15:00 Bristol City v Yeovil, 15:00 Millwall v Tranmere, 15:00 Oldham v Cheltenham, 15:00 Rotherham v Carlisle, 15:00 Scunthorpe v Huddersfield, 15:00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 21 April 2007 Carlisle v Bristol City, 15:00 Cheltenham v Blackpool, 15:00 Crewe v Oldham, 15:00 Nottm Forest v Bournemouth, 15:00 Swansea v Brighton, 15:00 Tranmere v Scunthorpe, 15:00 Yeovil v Rotherham, 15:00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 28 April 2007 Blackpool v Scunthorpe, 15:00 Brighton v Oldham, 15:00 Carlisle v Swansea, 15:00 Crewe v Tranmere, 15:00 Leyton Orient v Nottm Forest, 15:00 Millwall v Bristol City, 15:00 Yeovil v Doncaster, 15:00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 05 May 2007 Bristol City v Rotherham, 15:00 Gillingham v Yeovil, 15:00 Nottm Forest v Crewe, 15:00 Oldham v Chesterfield, 15:00 Scunthorpe v Carlisle, 15:00 Swansea v Blackpool, 15:00 Tranmere v Brentford, 15:00
  16. voted for white, although the tangerine looks good, it may be too close to his other club Blackpool so the white will shy away form that.
  17. no bout a doubt - dirty leeds every single time. i have been supporting latics since 1977 and latics fans used to have an ok rivalry with city i thought anyway was always then united and b*****d rovers who were the main two, wasnt until we played them when they got releagated after david pleat and ihis ANtic(EXCUSE THE pun) WHO SENT THEM DOWN . wud neva eva want them relagated b4 tgat set of you know wots. worst moments brian kilclines own goal at elland rd, roger dilkes(the infamousd ref from Mossley) given leeds a pen after i think it wasa andy rhodes had punched it in the area at elland road and the play offs . leeds in div one and us in the championship - will save me from putting money in their pockets not bothered bout going burnley preston etc
  18. got to be said apart from the obvious, scum or cockney supporters fc call em what you will it has to be said i would gladly share a pint of celebration with rick if Leeds get relegated as most of my good buddies who i travel up and down the country with (alangrovesperm, neva and harrydowdsgreenshirt) know i detest them with an absolute passion all going back to the days in the eighties etc but their fans were crazy beyond belief how the mighty have fallen) after that west Ham as some little idiot years ago tried kicking off wiv mi dad(didnt work tho) and of course the team in our song of no nay neva no nay neva no more till we play ??????? rovers

  23. This is typical of a football clubs behind the scene antics - you defo have a point alangrovesperm there is definitely more to this than meets the eye, but the main thing is as long as it does effect the rest of the team tomorrow as it it certainly didn't last sunday than im fine with it. it would be nice to know the real truth though see you all at orient tomorrow!
