Would a desire to have a go and try to win the game be too much to expect?
Under Penney, yes.
-
It was that bad!
What did everyone expect?
-
A mix of both I would guess... the no frills hard working style of Everton, occasional flashes of brilliance like Spurs....and historically more successful than Chelsea/New England.
That's debatable. They've both won three SuperBowls.

Top of the hill on Middleton Road, Royton, next to the field where the gypises camped out and near the Haggate.
Does it work?
-
Nope, its definitely the Cowboys. Fans all over the country, self promoted as Americas team/biggest club...the parallels with United are all there. The Patriots on the other hand, with their recent success and the cheating, would probably be Chelsea.
And the Giants would be? Spurs? Everton?
-
Bacause they are the Manchester United of the NFL. And because Tony Romo is a c**k.
I thought that was the Patriots?
-
lol @ Dallas
Why?
-
Aaaaaaamen to that brother.
I like my friends and don't want them to hate me.
-
He has been doing similar things for a while... Tonight was nothing "new"...
But just like Tony Romo fails to do (maybe not this year?), you have to come up big at the playoffs to get that ring...
I think he will get there but you come of age when you do it... and you don't fumble in OT...
If leading your team to 45 points on the road in the playoffs isn't coming up big I don't know what is.

Answer no
He came of age tonight. His defence needed to put their hands up and didn't.

So do you think you have had a successful season? It wasn't lomg ago you were moaning that they let you down.
Personally, for the Giants, solely making the playoffs isn't a success. You have to do something once you are there. When we won the Superbowl, if we did not win a playoff game that season, Coughlin would have got fired. Getting there is not success, doing something is what matters. I'm pissed off we didn't make it, bit if we did and then lost in the first round, we might as well just not make it and get a better pick.
For some teams, getting there is success enough (Jets, Bengals), but for a lot of teams, just making it is nothing unless you do something.
We've not had a successful season no. It's been horrible. In each game it seemed like they were battling against the inevitable. And I would class the Patriots as one of those teams who expect more. But, for the majority of franchises, what they have had would constitute a good season because making the playoffs remains important.
Speaking of the Jets - if they don't do it this season they are in for a good few years.
Don't get me wrong. I've been lucky with the success the Pats have had. Very lucky. But fcuk yes I feel let down tonight. That performance in the first quarter was nothing short of shambolic. One of the worst in playoff history.

+1 Had the same debate with a Eagle fan today...
Nonsense. The difference between making the playoffs and not doing can cost some coaches their jobs. For most teams, making the playoffs is the benchmark of a successful season.
-
4 and 5 = TOUCHDOWN
Now's the time to step up.
-
GB defence just can't contain them... Its a lot like watching the Giants...
I think the Packers have still got a chance here. Defence has to stop them sometime. Great game.

Good Night cheating Pat scum
Love the moaning from Mike United fan syndrome kicking in ?
Erm. No. Started supporting them in 1985. So thats 16 years of garbage before a Superbowl win. And you don't think Tom Brady would be the first to admit he let everyone down?
Least we made the playoffs though. That's something I suppose.
-
By the way, get a grip.
Cos you said so, I will.
Cowboys will win the Superbowl this year.
-
+1 .. but then i'd love to see how many people would regain the faith if we got into the championship or even premiership. not real fans.
They pay real money to get in.

1. What Photo?
2. Ravens holding their nerve... I'm concerned I might actually get one right!
I feel sick. Fortunately a side bet on the Ravens eased the pain a little, but that has to be the worst playoff 1st quarter performance by any team in recent history.
I give up. Every team I support lets me down.
-
Well, that's part one in. Three to go...
-
Me and fantasy leagues don't get along....everyone I pick turns out to be bobbins, no matter what sport it is!
I just stuck a tenner on my predicitions at Corals. The odds? 8/1. Pathetic.I'm going to stick a side bet on the Ravens, they are ridiculously overpriced.

Predictions for the weekend then?
Jets @ Bengals - think the Jets will win a tight one. Their defence has been top drawer all season and their offence seems to be clicking at the right time.
Eagles @ Cowboys - shouldn't be the cakewalk of last weekend but Dallas seem to be firing on all cylinders at the right time. Their defence looks awesome.
Ravens @ Patriots - hopefully the Ravens lack of decent WRs to test our young secondary and pathetic pass rush will see us home. Just. Unfortunately that wont happen in San Diego next weeked.
Packers @ Cardinals - tough to call but the Packers seem to have a bit more about them.
Anyone else?

Superbowl Odds
Indianapolis 8-5
San Diego 5-2
New Orleans 5-2
Dallas 5-1
Minnesota 5-1
Arizona 10-1
Green Bay 12-1
New England 12-1
Baltimore 15-1
Philadelphia 15-1
Cincinnati 20-1
New York Jets 25-1
Fair enough really. Welker is a devastating blow for the Pats who haven't really looked anything like all season. With Belichick at the helm who knows? I fancy Dallas this year.

As I said earlier, I don't expect any connection whatsoever between the Richards money and the stadium. My worry is that the receipt of the money will coincide with the departure of TTA, and neither the team nor its home will benefit from the money.
Or it will go on the other half of Huddersfield's reserves.
If you were the owner..
