  1. I'm not a big lover of the tactics that DP employs either, tbh it p***** me right off. Who is going to stick that ball where it belongs.....that is a tough one, with the negative tactics we are seeing no one, we need a complete reversal of the tactics we are seeing at the moment, Greegs and Co coming up as far as the oppos penalty area would be a good start instead of hovering on the half way line, you don't see many goals scored from 45+ yards, maybe one every few seasons. :disappointed:

Nothing up front and the return of Dean Brill. Happy New Year Latics fans.

  2. Ya don't need a supposedly limited offence- it wasn't they had some good players- when you know what the other teams' offence are doing. Take Brady out of the picture the Pats do well (not great but still fairly OK), take Manning or some other QBs out of the picture that team struggles- that is a sign of a good QB compared to a good team.

The Patriots didn't make the playoffs last season without Brady.

  3. According the one of the directors, posting on this forum, this season's playing budget is much the same as last season.

    Quite.

Penney has a very good managerial record in the lower leagues. I'm a million miles off thinking he should be sacked. But I do think the time has come to get the team to have a shot on target.

Lower leagues as in Conference and League Two?

  4. Exactly. He's full of :censored:.

Second team is the Cleveland Browns and they wont win anything for a long, long time. Did anyone see the assasination of Mangini in Rolling Stone magazine? Incredible. I don't think you'd get away with that over here.

The Bengals have a lot of fair weather fans who tend to be from wealthy backgrounds. Lots of bandwagon jumpers, especially this year.

As for the Patriots, I don't know if the defence this year is good enough yet to win a Superbowl. But it's looking promising.

  5. It came to light in the very early part of that season I think. My only worry with that call is whether it indicated a lack of confidence in the defence.

That apart, how many times are they showing the Dallas fecking Cowboys on Sky?!!

Big game next Sun. Patriots at Saints. And it's not on Sky. Great.

  6. Its 20 years ago to the day that Andy Ritchie took on the might of Arsenals legendary back four and beat them.

Now I'm not old enough to remember this game well I would be but my Latics supporting birth came 3 months later in and F.A cup win over Brighton Hove Albion. I do have the DVD and having watched it recently and you have to remember what a great player stitch was going up against the English champions at full strength he is the best player on the pitch.

So for those of us not fortunate or old enough at the time to have seen this can those that do regail us with their stories of this game which must be one of our greatest individual results of all time.

My first year with a season ticket. Was in the Lookers (RIP) right behind Stitch when he hit that volley. Can see it now. Even as an 11-year-old I can remember it hitting the back of the net and thinking: "S4it, we're a good team."

  7. It's probably a graphics card or RAM issue. What's your spec?

    It's: Intel Pentium 940 (3.2GHz, 2*2MB, FSB800)

    2GB DDR2 (400Mhz)

    300GB HDD (SATA 2, 7200rpm)

    16x DVD R/RW DL

    TV Tuner/WLAN (802.11b/g)

If you can decipher all that you're a better man than me..

    Runs on MT2600 Windows XP..

  8. I tried to sign Ayala but he turned me down the fooker.

I'm currently Shrewsbury manager, signed Leon Knight on a free and flogged him for 120k. Signed Jones on a free transfer from Wolves.

Willy Topp up front is class as already mentioned. Might have to go in for Mifsud, I keep trying to get Fabien Brandy but he keeps rejecting my contract offers.

I'm currently top unbeaten after 20 games.

Couldn't load 09 on my PC. Don't know why cos it's only a year old. Bearing that in mind is there any point buying 2010?

  9. Which superbowl was that- the Giants one? Didn't he get caught cheating during that year but was found to have been cheating for ages prior? TBH coaches don't win games- the players do. Coaches can loose them though.

It came to light in the very early part of that season I think. My only worry with that call is whether it indicated a lack of confidence in the defence.

  10. With you there. Who are we playing on Saturday anyway? Truely don't know.

When I remembered I supported Latics over the weekend and checked the score, I thought to myself 'has it ever been so uninspiring and dull?'

In my lifetime it hasn't. Yes we've knocked about at the bottom of this division and flirted with relegation, but a few years earlier we were in the division above so it was still kind of new and a 'novelty' in a weird way. Now we've been in this dire place for god knows how long. 11? 12? 13 seasons? And if we're honest there's only one way that we're going to get out.

We've also a squad of players who have no affinity to us and are only here until the next move comes along. OK that's football and not just Oldham but still.

The games I have watched this season (not many) have been lost by playing an absolute buffoon in goal. The fans clocked it after minutes. Penney aint that stupid but it took him a hell of a lot of points to realise that he had to drop the clown. To not even have a second choice keeper!!!!

    Where's Derk?

    E4e

    GARBO

    [/quote

I don't know who we're playing on Saturday either.

  11. The thing about that call is he knew that if he got the first down he had the game won- own 40 I could understand it but own 29 not smart. Just goes to show that he ain't that good a coach when he hasn't been cheating

Nonsense. A few more inches and he would have been hailed for his genius. It just didn't come off, that was all. As a Patriots fan I applaud him for it. Manning has launched last minute length-of-field drives to break our hearts many times in the past so he was right to do it. Taking the positives it's reassured me that this teaam is not far off. This could be a good year.

I can't believe people are still banging the 'cheating' drum. He wasn't cheating when they broke multiple records and he took them to a Superbowl they should have won.
