  1. Sad thing is it's probably true going off the track record of rentagob Corney and his 2 bosses.

I wonder who they imagine would want the job? though Im sure they'll be overwhelmed with applications cos this club is most definitely on the up under their inspired, commited leadership.

That is the greatest user name I have ever seen on here.

  2. Despite the hoofball and downright thugery displayed by Celtic under O’Neill, on a full season head to head comparison with McLeish, the Gers won 2 seasons to 1. Larsson was a class player, but has since been overtaken by Boyd, which is what Rangers do, i.e. break records (FIFA confirmed, World Record Holders for most domestic titles). Anyway we digress, the way the beasts from the east celebrated signing Keane was if 10 points had automatically been awarded to them and they were top of the league...

Do you think Boyd will go on to play for United and Barcelona then?

  3. Similar situation to ourselves in a way I guess, do they pay him off and bring someone (who?) else in to work with little money and a weak squad? Thing is, Strachan wasn't warmed to for playing dull football and winning, sometimes you need to be careful what you wish for...

Weird one this. I thought he would do really well and was delighted when he was appointed. I hope they give him time because, unlike our situation, I think things may turn around.

  4.

Motherwell, meanwhile, are unhappy at losing their former youth player Slane, at such an early stage in his career. He has signed for Celtic on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

A statement by Motherwell chairman John Boyle on the club website said: "We have tried and tried to get Paul to sign a long-term contract but much to our extreme disappointment, he has continually refused.

"We have offered the player improved competitive terms in line with other progressing youngsters at the club but both personally and through his agent, he has refused.

"Paul has been at the club for six years and we have financed his development and nurtured his talent, culminating in his senior debut at the end of last season.

"We have also stuck by and supported him over those years through both personal issues and injury and felt we were due some degree of loyalty for our efforts. Sadly he has chosen to refuse our offers and move on to Celtic."

  5. Is there any one who is good enough though who will come up in free agency? I don't think there is so unless they move up the draft of trade for one then they could be in a bit of trouble next season.

Might be worth seeing if they can talk Tim Tebow out of college at Florida..

  6. it should be a great SB with these 2. I thought the Vikings would win as they probably have the stronger overall team but you can't really say NO don't deserve it.

I can't see past the Colts though as they are just too good. they have probably the greatest QB of all time or will be by the time he retires, 3 top WR and a top tightend in clark, and there defence isn't too shabby either. I would say they are better than the 18-1 Patriots from a couple of years ago and will win this easier than most will think.

    Steady on!!

To be fair, they are looking superb. And as much as though I dislike him, you have to take your hat off to Manning. He just keeps getting it done. Fair play.

Still like the Saints to win it though. A fairytale really if that comes off.

Next season - get your money on Cleveland Browns. You heard it here!!

  7. Lyrics changed slightly. Can refer to Latics and Oldham in general.

    this is the landlocked town

that they forgot to close down

    Armageddon - come Armageddon

    come Armageddon - come

    Everyday is like Sunday

    everyday is silent and grey

    hide on the promenade

    etch on a postcard

How I Dearly Wish I Was Not Here

    in the seaside town

    that they forgot to bomb

come, come , come Nuclear bomb

    everyday is like Sunday

    everyday is silent and grey

  8. Even when taking that early lead you thought that the Colts would come back. They do look a fairly accomplished outfit, and I'd be surprised if they didn't win it from here.

The second game was a bit better. Vikings fans must be banging their heads against the nearest wall. What was Childress doing with his play calling at the end? He needed to keep going for yards, I mean it was a long fieldgoal to win anyway, that's before you throw in the penalty - which granted he can't legislate for. But, that's another thing, 12 men in the huddle? On your own time out? Idiots.

Then there's Brett. Oh dear. All he had to do was run five yards and slide and they'd have had a shot. Instead, oh I know, I'll break every rule in the 'American Football for Idiots' handbook. What a bell end.

And then there was the last drive. Hmm. Pass interference? Nope. A catch? Nope? Why officiate a game so well and then proceed to throw it god only knows (and one of these was a booth replay).

So other than the headcoach, quarterback, the twelveth man and a bitter taste in the mouth - a very successful day for the Vikes.

This should be a great Superbowl.

  9. A lot of the players were here last season he says.

Other than Gregan and Hazell who he praises, the other three who were here last season are Smalley, Whitaker and Taylor. Of course Stephens too but then he made his debut under Penney.

So 6 new signings of Wednesday's starting 11. Hardly a lot of last season's players as he mentions.

Almost half the team. I'd say that's a lot.

  10. Cards- Fulham- on a good spell but not really an established top ranked team. I'm more worried what this makes the 49ers as I think it might make them Leeds.

This weekend - Saints and Colts to win.

Both clearly learned from NE's cock up in 07 and the rest seems to have served them well.

If that comes off it could result in one of the most entertaining Superbowls we've seen in a long time.

  11. Why oh why do people want Ritchie back?! He was a :censored: manager too.

The team is crap because the players that Shez and Penney have bought in are on the whole...:censored:e. I dont buy into this there is a good team in there somewhere.

IMO a change in manager will have very little effect. Just like it did last season with Joe.

I disagree. Yes there's a lot of rubbish that's been brought in. A heck of a lot. But with Taylor, Abbott, Morrow and Gregan you have the basis of a decent side. Certainly one that should be performing better than this one is. A fresh manager should make a difference.

A decent keeper, centre forward and change of tactics could save us.

  12. I got a guided tour of Simon Stainrod's house by the great man himself. My Dad was thinking of buying his house - but bought a different one :-(

I am still gutted that I didn't end up living in that house! Opening his mail would have been interesting :-D

I served Sean McCarthy's wife when I worked at Sainsbury's years ago. She bought a Man United cake for their kid's birthday. It upset me a little.
