  1. Congratulations to Diego! I am just back in from the pub now so I am off elsewhere on OWTB to find out who else we signed... with three minutes to midnight! (hic!)
  2. Hmmmm... going by the latest on the official site, it's going to be later than my 6.18pm prediction... I think the lads predicting around the 8-9pm mark are in with a good shout...
  3. A nice prize - if anyone gets it right - would be a free name change under the post count thingy (sorry, I've no idea what the correct term for those things are)... I've been Danny Boshell for AGES now! What about it mods?
  4. I mentioned this on an earlier thread... lets try to see if anyone can predict when a signing will be announced... It makes a brief change from hitting F5. I'm going for 6.18pm...
  5. We should do some sort of betting thing for predicting the hour and minute when a signing will (hopefully) be announced... I bet 6.18pm...
  6. I remember before the start of the season when there was a spate of F5 days... I did feck all at work but hit F5 for eight hours. Then I got so frustrated I went to the pub... I think my local barman will be doing good business tonight...
  7. Good stuff! I'm going to snap one up for me and another for my pal - he doesn't even support Latics but has always admired and heralded Bunn's six goal haul whenever I'm ranting and raving about Latics...
  8. It's tedious... Kind of fun in an agonising, boring, patience testing kind of way...
  9. Hang on - I can't see one on the official online store... though my eyes might be playing up 'cos I've been staring at the computer all day in the hope of transfer signings...
  10. I'm going to get me one of the Bunn ones right now! Well done lads - it's excellent.
  11. The official site should have pulled one of their Patrik Berger stunts to keep us amused this afternoon as flip all else is!
  12. I won't be getting much work done today then... F5 ready to go.
  13. It would be good if the sad aspect of the news of his departure could be sweetened a bit with news of us signing a few players!
  14. Yup - all the best to the lad, I'm sure he's going to have a good future in the game, and it's great business by the club.
  15. We'd have a bloody good frontline if we got him on board - can't see it happening though. I reckon he wants to pocket as much cash as possible before he gets someone to hang up his boots.
  16. I was actually having pints with Daniel McDonnell last week... He's a pal of mine. But I'm still certain it's going to be O'Tel for Ireland.
  17. 100 per cent rubbish about Shez for Ireland - Sheridan is smarter than to be Ireland gaffer at this stage of his careeer after what happened to the even more inexperienced Stephen Staunton made a hames of things. O'Tel is set to check in for the Ireland job on Tuesday - my mate is a sport hack and stands to take the bookies for about £1,000 when he does. By the way - I wonder what odds on O'Tel opening a bar called O'Scribes in Dublin this year?
  18. ""But to be perfectly honest most of the players I played alongside left due to the Manager wanting to stamp his own identity on the team."" Isn't it a manager's job to stamp their own identity on a team? If players are leaving for that reason they obviously think they are bigger than the manager and team and club so thus I think we're better off without them.
  19. Just a thought - and sorry if it has been mentioned already... But - how open was the away kit poll to sabotage by supporters of other clubs? Ie. could a bored rival fan log on to the latics site with a bunch of their pals and vote for the most horrible kit and then laugh at us when we play in their place? There's always one stinker of an option, like the baby blue Man City style one we were offered this time around. And - what's stopping us from doing it to another club for the laugh?
  20. Two things on this from me... First, as long as Lee Hughes is playing for us and in good form he'll always be the subject of transfer rumour and speculation etc etc. I'm not going to worry about any of it until or if he goes. Second, I think The Sun could be in line for a legal action of some sort if they're reporting that he has marriage strife and it is not true. I don't think they would find it worth their while to leave themselves open to any sort of even a hint of legal action for the sake of a few paragraphs if they weren't pretty sure what they were reporting isn't A. correct or B. something a person isn't going to take legal action over. Having said all that I'm reverting back to the latter part of my first point... ie I'm going to enjoy Lee Hughes and his goals as long as he is in a Latics kit.
  21. I was in the boozer earlier and was delighted to see Shez on the telly - only problem was that the pub was a bit noisy and the telly was turned down, but he looked comfortable enough in a moody sort of way...
  22. A bit of a come-down this... I was really hoping for a crack against one of the big lads again... Home form plus the return of former 'tics, I fear, will be our downfall...
